16. Blurred Lines
"You see it too?" Allison says, her eyes wide as I stared at her in disbelief. Everything I suddenly knew about the hunters and where she came from crashed into me. They wouldn't allow this; they'll kill her.
My hands grab her face as she gulps. "What...what-"
"You see it?" Allison says, disbelief forming on her face as well. It mirrored my own, but seeing the look on her face made this all the more real. She pulls my hands off of her face as she backs away from me, shaking her head. "No, no. This can't be happening-"
"Allison," I say, but I only say it to keep my mind on track. It was spinning a thousand miles an hour.
Allison doesn't wait for me to speak. "I was just looking in the bathroom mirror when I saw them flash yellow, but I thought I was just hallucinating. I went on the balcony to get some air when I heard you screaming...oh my God, Corey. I-I can't be-"
I suddenly grabbed my own head as I slammed my eyes shut, tugging at the hair in my head. This wasn't real. I was hallucinating again...I had to be. I repeat over and over, "This isn't real. This is your mind playing tricks on you."
Allison's touch feels so real on my face as she grabs it. "Corey, this is real! I'm here! I don't know what you just saw, but this...this is all real."
I open my eyes at this, seeing the tears falling from her face. If this was real or not, I wasn't 100% certain, but what I was sure of was that Allison needed someone right now. After seeing her bottom lip curl under, I pull my arms around her as she lets her sobs come out, burying her face into my shoulder. The last time I remembered her crying this hard was...was when her mother died.
"I can't be a werewolf," Allison mutters, her words slurring as she held onto my shirt tightly. "My father-"
"Won't know," I quickly add, knowing that if he were to find out about this, he couldn't forgive her. Sure, her and her father had this bond that I couldn't quite describe, but if he didn't kill her, other hunters sure as hell would. It's against their code. "Allison, swear to me you won't tell him...or any of your family for that matter."
Allison is quiet for a moment as she thinks, but she knew I was right. "I won't."
I rest my hand on the back of her head, closing my eyes to think about what to do next. For a moment I thought about running away with her to make certain no one came after her, but then my mind focused on what was the cause for all of this.
My expression turns cold. "Jade is going to pay for this."
Allison is quiet as I imagine her face in my mind, erasing any type of good memory I had about her. She crossed the line with this, and no way will I ever forgive her. I've always played the nice guy, but after this...after crushing Allison like this, I was done with that. Jade ruined her life, and now I'm going to ruin hers.
Something washes over me then; like I had to act now. I needed to do something about this, and the only thing that came to my mind was Ethan. He was here on this bus, and now he was in one of these Motel rooms, unknowing what chaos his pack member has just created. He was with Jade...meaning that he was my first target.
I pull away from Allison as I stand, walking off the bus like I was in some type of rage mode. Allison mutters something as I walk away from her, but all I could think about was Ethan. Sure, I wasn't a werewolf and could barely defend myself, but I didn't care. I had to do something about this.
I remembered Coach handing Ethan a key in the back of my mind, but I wasn't sure how I remembered it. Maybe because of my Seer abilities, but I didn't care. All I knew was that his room was 221, and that was all that mattered.
Before I know it, I'm standing in front of his door, staring at the back of it as I tried to think about what to do. I wasn't sure what was compelling me to do this; either the fact of what happened to Allison or that I just hated Ethan's guts anyway, but all I knew was that he deserved whatever was coming for him.
Suddenly, I wished Allison had taught me how to use a weapon.
The door is unlocked as I bust it open, my eyes wandering when I found Danny sitting there in the bed, shirtless. He stares at me in confusion as I search for Ethan, not seeing him anywhere.
"Corey?" he says, utterly confused. "What are you doing?"
I wasn't in the mood for friendly conversation. "Where's Ethan?"
Before Danny can answer me, Ethan is stepping out of the bathroom, shirtless as well. He furrows his eyebrows when he sees me standing there, but before I can let him make the first move, I'm running forwards and pushing him back into the bathroom, slamming him up against the wall.
I hear Danny shouting in the other room, but I ignore him. Ethan doesn't even move as I hold him there, waiting for me to speak, so I did. "You wanted to get inside my head, so well done, you did it. Now you're going to regret it."
Ethan only stares in confusion as I clench my fist, throwing it across his face as blood flies across the white walls. I was surprised by the sudden strength I had, but what mattered was that it hurt Ethan, which was the only thing I wanted.
I take my hands and shove them into his chest as he slips on the water on the floor, causing him to fall back into the tub, ripping the curtain down from the wall. His head makes a loud thump as it hits the edge, causing him to hiss from the pain. A little drop of blood falls down the side of his head as he glares up at me, finally ready to fight back.
I wasn't afraid.
His eyes glow red as he stands up quickly, grabbing my shirt collar and shoving my face into the sink. My cheek bone hits hard against the faucet as Ethan struggles to hold me there, since the bathroom we were standing in wasn't the best fighting area. I gasp before I reach up and grab the hot water dial, turning it on as it poured onto Ethan's hand. He hissed from the pain and lets me go, using this as my advantage.
I straighten up and turn quickly, grabbing him by the shirt. I try to push him out of the bathroom so we could have more room, but before I can do anything, Danny is there, trying to get me away from Ethan. I scream at him as I fight against him, trying to hold my grip on the alpha.
"Let him go!" Danny screams at me, but all I see is red as I land another punch into the alpha's face. His head flings to the side as Danny continues to tug me away from Ethan, but I managed to hold my ground. It wasn't until I hear another voice that made me stop cold...that voice being Allison.
"Corey!" She screams at me as she now stands in the bathroom doorway. I stop my fist mid-air as I turn to look at her, seeing the pain in her eyes. That was when I looked back down at Ethan, seeing his chest heave huge breaths as he glared up at me.
What was I doing?
My sanity comes back to me suddenly as Allison walks forwards and tugs me off of Ethan, making me stand as I stared wide-eyed down at Ethan and Danny. I tried to put my mind somewhere else, but it was stuck on the sudden rage I had just felt and what had happened to Allison. Everything was so fuzzy in my mind.
Danny mutters something to Ethan as he leans over him, dabbing away some of the blood as Allison pulled me out of the bathroom and out of their motel room. She doesn't say anything to Ethan or Danny before she's slamming the door, turning to me as I stood there against the railing on the balcony. I could tell by her face that she was furious and confused.
"What in the hell were you thinking!" she screams at me, not thinking about everyone else who was trying to sleep in the rooms nearby. "You could have gotten yourself killed!"
I shake my head as I try to mutter out something, the words coming out as more of a sigh. "They practically killed you."
Allison stares at me for a moment, the anger and confusion completely disappearing. Her face turns into sadness once again, and instantly I felt bad for saying that. I wasn't trying to make her feel like that, but it was the only way I could explain why I acted the way I did. I only did it for her.
"It wasn't Ethan's fault," Allison says, looking over her shoulder at the door. "Either way, they're alpha's, Corey. You can't just go beat them up whenever you feel like it. You could have seriously gotten hurt."
I shake my head, realizing how much I had hurt her. "I'm sorry...I just can't think straight right now. I don't know what's wrong with me."
Allison sighs. "You're not the only one."
I close my eyes briefly as I bring my hand to my head, feeling a little bruise forming, but I didn't care. "What are we going to do, Allison?"
There were many ways she could have answered that; one of them being related to the alpha pack problem, another with her new werewolf status, and yet another dealing with staying in the crappy motel for the night. However, her answer was simple, bringing me back to my senses.
"We're going to stick together."
She reaches forwards and grabs my hand then, but she doesn't smile. I wasn't expecting her to, but usually when she takes my hand, she does. I noticed how severely worried she was then, and I wanted nothing more than to comfort her. I needed to say something, but she's already speaking before I can do so.
"I just want to get out of this place," she says while looking around. "I guess sleeping through it all is the only option."
I look back down the balcony, thinking about how nice sleep sounding right about now, not that I could even fall asleep if I wanted to. "Come on."
Allison's face lifts slightly as we walk down the balcony and to our rooms, but instead of going into my own room, I followed her inside. I didn't care what Coach said about boys sleeping with girls; I wasn't going to let Allison be alone tonight. Yeah, she had Lydia, but she didn't know everything that was going on. I needed to be by Allison's side or else I really wouldn't be able to sleep.
As soon as we stepped into the room however, Stiles and Lydia were standing there, throwing open drawers and cabinets as if they were looking for something.
Neither of them even look at us. "What are you doing?"
Lydia throws open another drawer. "Where in the hell have you two been?"
"Please don't tell me making out because I'll barf," Stiles groans, reminding me of his humor.
Allison shakes her head, running her fingers through her hair. "No, we had to get something off of the bus. But seriously; what are you guys doing?"
Lydia looks at us then. "You two are really far behind on the latest Motel drama, that's what's up."
Stiles nods his head. "I was down getting food from the vending machine and Boyd was there, but he literally punched through the glass to get a snack. I mean, I didn't mind cause then I got mine for free but-"
"Stiles," Lydia groans, stopping his rambling. She turns back to us. "The werewolves are all acting weird. Like they're possessed or something."
My mind thinks back to the strange occurrence on the bus, but I wasn't a werewolf so it didn't add up. "Possessed?"
"Yes, possessed. Now someone needs to do an exorcism before they all go crazy and kill us all," Lydia says as she grabs a bible, holding it up in the air.
Stiles furrows his eyebrows before taking the bible from her hands, opening it to reveal newspaper clippings. "Oh my God."
Allison and I both rush over to Stiles as we look over his shoulder, reading the headline of one of the newspaper clippings. All of them had to do with suicides...suicides that were committed in this very room.
"Okay, well that's not creepy," Allison fades out, her eyes wide.
Lydia shakes her head as she takes a clipping. "Man shoots himself at the Glen Capri; April 23rd."
"This guy hung himself," Stiles says as chills run down my spine. I can't help but look around the room, thinking about all of the blood they've had to scrub out of the carpets in a place like this.
Either the talking from Stiles and Lydia about death is what did it, or possibly something else that I was unaware of, but the next thing I know, I see Allison grab her neck beside me before falling straight backwards, collapsing as if she fainted.
I managed to get my hand behind her head before she hit it, but soon i'm on the ground beside her, staring at her closed eye lids in confusion. My heart races as I slapped her cheeks lightly, trying to get her to wake up, but that was when I noticed how hot she was; like she was running a fever. Something was wrong, I knew there was. But her temperature isn't what scared me the most.
The claws that now replaced her finger nails did.

Werewolf Allison...opinions?
And you'll get some more loopy/hallucination Corey next chapter hopefully. I've got an idea and I'm excited to put it into play. Other than that, that's about it for this chapter.
