In section 3, it is mentioned that Papa Verte is listening to classical music on the radio. The song I chose for him to listen to (it is the media section of that chapter) is Debussy's "Danse Bohemienne" which is one of my favorite pieces of classical music. 

Catholic masses would have been conducted in Latin during the 1930s and a devout Catholic like Marianne would have known a few Latin prayers. She recites "Salve Regina" or "Hail Holy Queen" while praying for her deceased mother. "Salve Regina" is also the name of the hymn that I chose to play during the church scene.
