CH 20
"Davina! You're awake." His voice made my ears pound and I opened my eyes, seeing Draco beside me, in my room.
"Draco."
"Are you alright?" I sat up, facing him.
"Um, yes."
"Good, now tell me everything." I told him, every single detail and he didn't say anything. He held me tightly. "I'm glad I killed her."
"I'm so sorry Draco, I had planned to do it myself, but I underestimated how much power and strength you needed for dark magic."
"Davina, it is more than fine, I promise, I wish I could've done more, I would've done more." He looked at me, more serious. "I feel off from casting the curse, but Dav, you took it a lot worse. The doctor told me the effects of fiendfyre."
"Doctor? How long was I out for?"
"It's been a week now. The ministry was here too, to question us because of the obvious. I got them to read my mind and they left saying they would return until you became conscious."
"Write them a letter, let's get this over with," I said.
"Before we do that Dav, just look." He grabbed my hands and showed them to me. I looked at the blackness all over my hands, the paleness of my skin. Morana's mark had faded like Voldemort's' mark, and yet I could still feel the dark magic on my skin.
Instead of it being painful and something that I felt like clawing out of my skin, it was like I was suddenly immune. Worse, my body seemed to crave more of it.
"What did the doctor say?"
"She told me how fiendfyre used a great deal of physical strength rather than the mental strength of the unforgivable curses. She also said that not only did you cast that spell which was bad enough, but you used it to destroy horcruxes. She mentioned how horcruxes were worse and more inhumane than the unforgivable curses.
"Because of this, you would be affected ten fold. She mentioned becoming addicted to dark magic."
"I knew it, I can feel it Draco, inside of me. Does the ministry know this?"
"No, they aren't aware I had a doctor come. But there is more," he said. "You can live with this and not turn into Voldemort but you have to do something."
"What is it Draco?"
"You have to do dark magic regularly."
"I feel like that is the complete opposite of what I have to do actually."
"No, no, so in order to fight against the urges, you have to give your body that rush of dark magic but not to the point where it takes over. She mentioned having a ring that when you put it on it causes you to feel the effects of dark magic." He got a ring out of his pocket. "It's only when you put it on, and you basically just where it until you see darkness forming at your fingers."
"Draco, my hands are black."
"That will go away, your arms were black up to your elbows, a couple days or so and you're fine."
"Fine? I didn't know any of this would happen, I thought I died."
"So did I."
"I hate her."
"I know."

October 1999
I showed the ministry what happened, and they kept the story very hush from the wizarding world and told everyone that Morana had killed the muggles and was now in Azkaban.
They were prepared just in case Voldemort was to act against them and they helped Draco and I as a favour. Apparently we were heroes now, yet no one was allowed to know.
Draco now owned that Apothecary store in Diagon Alley and I was now a potions professor at Hogwarts.
I had just taken off the ring and placed in its box I had for it. This is the third round of the ring. We've discovered I only need to do it once a week.
"I should get going now Draco," I said. I came home each weekend to do the ring ritual as I thought it was best to do it outside of Hogwarts. I enjoyed living there, it kept me close to my memories.
I was the youngest Professor Hogwarts had ever had as I officially got the job at 19 after my birthday this month. The minimum age was 21, but as I eliminated a huge threat to the wizarding world, the ministry pulled a few strings.
"Alright," he said and got up to say goodbye. "Hey Davina, I've been meaning to ask you this for weeks."
"What is it?"
"Are you going to tell Mi-"
"No," I said firmly. "I don't deserve him anymore." I stated, glancing at the small box that held inside the most monstrous aspect of me.
