Change The World
Authors Note: This should be a interesting chapter. :)
"Goodbye everyone. I'll make sure to tell May you send her best wishes," Ash said as he and Pikachu waved goodbye to May's family. Without another word, he dashed off to the airport while taking one more glimpse at May's family before he kept running.
Once he was out of sight, the three members of May's family stopped waving. Their expressions were covered in wonder, and then Max spoke, "Why didn't we tell him about what happened to May?"
"It's for the best if he finds out on his own first. He wouldn't have believed us anyway." Norman sighed as he put his hands in his pockets.
"I only hope Ash will be able to help our daughter." Caroline lowered her head, pondering in her mind.
As Pikachu napped on Ash's lap, Ash moved his hand up and down the mouse's furry back. They had been riding on the plane for several hours now and Ash was bored out of his mind. To rid himself of the boredom he began to think about something odd he had found in May's room last night.
Ash found his curiosity get the best of him while he opened one of May's drawers. After seeing all the photos May had of her journeys, he wondered what else she had. When he checked her drawer he got slightly surprised when he found nothing. "Nothing?" Ash raised an eyebrow, his eyes shifted to the photos of on top of her furniture. He stared again at the pictures with her and her Pokémon as well as a few with Max, her family, and some of the awards she had received including the Grand Festival trophy.
"There has to be something else around," Ash murmured. He opened the second drawer to find nothing, making him sigh. He looked at the bed behind him and saw his sleeping Pikachu, wondering if he should just call it a day. His curiosity still got the best of him so he continued his search.
When he opened the final drawer he became slightly disappointed to find just a bunch of colored papers, but he still wondered what they were. Based on the condition of the papers he assumed they were pretty old. He began to read one of the papers.
"Returning from Sinnoh makes me feel like I've transformed as a human being. After winning my second Grand Festival and being offered the chance to train with Wallace for sometime has got me so excited, but I'm also beginning to reflect on how far I've come,"
Ash read the text with May's voice echoing in his mind.
"I'm proud of all my hard work. I know I could not have gotten this far without my family's encouragement, without my friend's support, without my Pokémon's love, and especially because of him...He has been there for me from the start and even though relationship was rather sour at first, it got better as I met up with him throughout Hoenn and Kanto. It was after my victory in Johto that it finally happened though, after waiting so long, we fell in...love?" Ash raised an eyebrow, wondering how the subject had changed from May's progress to this mysterious person she was writing about.
"Now I'm ready to travel around with him as my love, I feel like I can take on the entire world. With him, with my Pokémon, and with all the skill I have gotten over the years, I can only see sunshine in my future, there's nothing on the horizon that could possibly destroy my happiness. Tomorrow I'm off to continue my journey on becoming the world's greatest coordinator!" Ash finished reading the paper. He placed the paper back in the drawer as he decided to read the others.
A few of the others just described breakthrough points in May's journey. Some were about a Pokémon she had caught or about a victory in a Grand Festival and others were reflections of how May saw herself as a person. Ash became extremely intrigued, curious, and concerned when he came across the shortest of the writings.
"When I was a little girl, I always imagined myself being in a photo shoot with the latest in fashion. It was a fun thought and I always dreamt of going to cities like Castelia City and Lumiose City, but now...it feels like things aren't all they are cracked up to be. Being a rising celebrity who has been on tour and training and working nonstop are some of the most stressing things I've ever experienced. Sometimes I'm not sure I can handle it. Those people with their cameras won't stop following me and I feel bit by bit my chances of seeing my family and enjoying life are being taken away from me. The only thing keeping from hitting bottom is him, he's the only thing supporting me and without his love I don't what would become of me." Ash placed the paper aside and sighed, assuming May wrote that when stardom had become an increasing pain to her.
When he decided to read the next paper he got even more worried. In capital letters he read, "I CAN'T ANYMORE, HE'S GONE! HE LEFT ME! NOT EVEN LOVE WAS ABLE TO SAVE ME FROM MY DEMISE. THINGS ARE TOO HARD. I WISH I WAS HOME. I WISH I WAS WITH MY FAMILY AND FRIENDS. MY POKÉMON ARE WORRIED ABOUT ME AND I'M WORRIED ABOUT MYSELF TOO. I DON'T KNOW WHAT WILL BECOME OF ME. I FIND MYSELF REPEATING THE SAME DEPRESSING ROUTINE EVERYDAY! WHAT AM I GOING TO DO?! SOMETIMES I FEEL LIKE MAYBE...I SHOULD JUST END IT ALL...BUT THEN AGAIN, THERE ARE STILL THINGS WORTH FIGHTING FOR. I CANNOT LET THE MISERIES OF LIFE STOP ME FROM FIGHTING. MY BEST CHANCE TO OVERCOME THIS IS TO JUST KEEP GOING UNTIL THINGS GET BETTER. MY ONLY QUESTION IS WHEN WILL THINGS IMPROVE AGAIN?"
Ash rubbed his eyes as he returned his thoughts to the present. I never expected the life of a star to be the way May describes, seeing Gym Leaders and other celebrities shower in their glory always made it come off as the best thing in the world, Ash thought as he scratched Pikachu behind his ear. But May...she doesn't seem to enjoy it very much. Is it really that whole celebrity life that's got her under fire or is there more to it? Ash continued to think.
He looked out the airplane window as he thought something else. Who was that guy she kept writing about, the person she loved? Was that person the only person who managed to keep her happy during those difficult times? What happened to that person? Where are they now? Why would they leave May in such a horrible condition? Ash leaned his back against the seat and sighed as he stared at the light above him, he had so many unanswered questions.
People were calmly boarding off the plane. They were all minding their own business as the sun shone brightly over the Kalos region. The serenity of the scene quickly vanished as Ash bolted out of the airplane with Pikachu. "Excuse me!" Ash shouted as he jumped off the steps of the stairs after running down a bit.
"Sorry, pardon me," Ash found himself having to budge through crowds of people as he ran through the Lumiose City Airport. His running almost caused him to crash into a woman and trip over a suitcase, but the boy simply apologized as he kept running. "I'm really sorry!" Ash kept repeating as he barely avoided crashing into people.
Even Pikachu became embarrassed by his trainer's rush, "Pikachu pi," the little guy sighed.
"We can't waste any more time Pikachu, today is the day!" Ash cheered as he burst of the airport entrance, leaping into the air with a fist pump like he had done the first time he arrived in Kalos.
Just as he prepared to run off into the city Pikachu stopped him in his tracks, "Pikapi!" the mouse exclaimed.
Ash's shoes screeched as he halted to hear his buddy, "What's wrong pal?" he looked at him with confusion.
"Pikachu pi pika pikachu." Pikachu reminded Ash of something that had obviously slipped his mind.
"Oh that's right, we don't have a clue where May could be." Ash examined the streets and thought of how large Lumiose City was. It's going to take us forever to find her here if we don't know where to look, Ash thought in annoyance.
"Pikapi pikachu," Pikachu suggested.
"Guess we have no other choice," Ash looked at his friend that rested on his shoulder.
Ash began to walk through the filled streets of Lumiose and without any shyness began to question them. He walked up to an elderly yet fancy dressed man, "Excuse me?" the boy tapped the man's arm.
"Hello, yes how can I help you my fine boy?" the man rested both his hands on the handle of his expensive-looking cane.
"I'm looking for May; do you know where I might find her right now?" Ash questioned him.
"May? You mean the celebrity?" The old man raised an eyebrow as he spoke through his gray moustache.
"Yeah, her." Ash nodded, finding it a little strange to hear people call his friend a celebrity.
"I'm afraid I don't my young fellow. You could try asking someone else. The only thing I know is that she's supposed to be in town." The man sighed, wishing he could answer Ash's question.
"I see," Ash sighed, but then smiled. "Thanks anyway."
"A pleasure to assist you." The man lifted his top hat a bit as a polite gesture then Ash ran off.
Ash continued to his search as he quickly found another person he could ask. A woman walked in front of him and Ash did not hesitate to tap her shoulder. "Excuse me?"
The young woman turned and lifted her garden hat a bit to take a clear look at Ash. She wore an elegant green dress and had beautiful green eyes to match with it. "Hello, may I help you with something?"
"Yes, I'm actually looking for a girl named May. Do you know where I might find her?" Ash inquired.
"You don't mean the famous May right?" The woman raised an eyebrow.
"That's who I mean," Ash chuckled.
"Oh," the woman giggled. "Good luck trying to find her sweetie. Celebrities aren't as easy to track down as you think. Sadly, I don't have any clue where she might be in the city right now. Your best way of finding her is to just keep looking around."
"Right," Ash lowered his head, slightly annoyed by her comment about the difficulty trying to meet up with a famous person. "Thank you though," Ash grinned softly.
"You're welcome," the woman smiled as Ash dashed off.
The boy mumbled to Pikachu about how they will never find her at this rate. "May is in town and she's supposed to be a megastar, how is it possible that no one knows where she could be?" Ash muttered.
"Pika pikachu pi," Pikachu recommended they just keep asking they might have a lead eventually.
Ash got onto one of the main streets and asked multiple people the same question. Many laughed at his intention of trying to meet May while others apologized for failing to assist him. The more people Ash asked the more his hope began to slip.
"What if I can't find May, what if she's gone by now?" Ash walked slowly through an alleyway with his hands in his pockets. "We can't give up, not with all the stuff that's going on with her, but what happens if we can't reach her, Pikachu? What will Caroline, Norman, and Max do? They're counting on us to help her," Ash said to his friend with an emotional tone.
"Pikachu..." Pikachu lowered his ears in sadness.
As they walked out of the alleyway they got caught off guard by a camera crew that ran right past them, "Come on, we have to get the latest scoop on May if we want to make any sales tomorrow!" a long black-haired female reporter yelled to the all male camera crew.
"Latest scoop on May?" Ash crossed his arms as his expression became a baffled one.
"Right away boss!" A camera man popped up from behind Ash. Clearly he had fallen behind and was trying to catch up.
"Excuse me?" Ash called out to him before he could get far.
"Hi, what's up kid?" the cameraman questioned him.
Ash quickly disregarded the man's "kid" comment since he was practically a young adult and cut to the chase. "Are you guys going to look for May?" Ash asked him.
"Of course, we are just heading to the Lumiose City General Hospital where she's supposedly at. News about her always seems to sell!" the cameraman informed Ash.
"At a hospital?" Ash gulped.
"Yeah something about charity," the cameraman turned to his crew who were barely visible at this point and instantly prepared to run. "Gotta run kid, May doesn't stick around in a town for very long!" the man yelled and took off, leaving a trail of dust behind him.
Ash became relieved when the man stated that May was at the hospital for something that didn't deal with her health. The fact that the media seemed so desperate to get a story about her troubled him though. His concerned face then transformed into a joyous one, "Well Pikachu, looks like now we know where May is."
"Pika!" Pikachu smiled back at him.
"Let's go then!" Ash shouted then took off with his pal.
"May, you're battle with Diantha is tonight. Don't you think it would be best if you did some training?" one of her agents suggested with a worried tone.
"Well today I'm going to use my time for a greater cause if you don't mind," May crossed her arms and gave the agent a sassy look.
May's scowl shut the agent up as he and several others followed her while carrying bags and packages of gifts in their arms. Walking through the hall, the brunette easily caught the attention of nurses and doctors and wondered what she was doing here and why she and her agents were carrying what appeared to be gifts.
Suddenly, the girl stopped in front of a room. "Hi everybody!" May tried to sound as cheery as possible as she walked in with her agents.
The ill patients' faces became shocked when they saw the coordinator. Many had their eyes widened and their jaws dropped as the agents began to distribute the gifts to all the different people from children to elderly people. "Hello?" May waved shyly at them while giggling.
"It's May, the really strong trainer from TV!" a boy shouted with glee, startling the nurse near him.
"That's right," May giggled, "Don't worry I have authorization to be here," the sapphire-eyed girl winked at the nurses in the room.
"I was in town and heard about you guys, so I figured to stop by and give you a little something," May smiled as she rubbed her hand up and down a little girl's back while gazing at all the people whose eyes shined when they received their presents.
The children were giving toys of Pokémon like Blaziken, Venusaur, and Delphox along some other objects children would normally enjoy. The older people received some treats, decorations, and statues that fitted beautifully with the counter next to their beds.
May walked over to an elderly woman who received a photo frame as a gift. "Do you know what photo you could use for that?" May smiled at the woman.
"Not at all!" the woman answered, surprised that she was talking to May.
May giggled as she pulled out one of those special cameras that printed out the shot once it was taken. "Is it ok if I take a photo with you?" May politely asked her.
"Not at all!" the woman answered with the same response, even more surprised than before and causing May to giggle.
May pressed herself against the elderly woman's shoulder and smiled sweetly at the camera. "Say cheese," May told the woman, making the old female smile happily. With a press of a button, May took a picture of themselves. Within seconds a picture got printed out of the slot just below the camera lens.
"I hope you like it," May examined the photo with the woman, smiling at the sight of the gleeful old lady.
The elderly woman's eyes glistened as she saw herself grinning alongside such an angelic human being. May's sapphire eyes and smile enhanced the photo's beauty by a great amount and the woman's hands began to tremble as she held the picture, "It's beyond perfect," the woman answered.
As May took the photo from the woman she spoke, "I read your letter a few weeks ago. I was waiting to meet you, it seemed like perfect timing that you sent the letter from here and I got the time to come over to Lumiose City."
"Yeah," the woman nodded with a delighted grin.
May placed the photo of herself and the woman in the photo frame. When she set the photo in the proper position, she showed the complete product. "Beautiful right?" the coordinator handed the item to her.
"I-I-It's oh my!" the woman began to sob out of joy and pulled May into a hug.
At first caught off guard, May regained her composure and returned the hug with a caring grin. "I'm glad you liked it," May patted the woman on the back until they separated. As the woman wiped some tears, May got out a pen and began to write something on the blank white label on the back of the photo frame. "Be happy to be alive and be happy to be who you are." the coordinator thought as she wrote it.
She then signed her name below the phrase and handed the item once more to the woman. The lady read the phrase, forming the biggest grin she could muster. "A disease can't beat the human spirit," May winked at her.
"Thank you," the woman said with a sweet voice, feeling her spirit rise up as she stared at the young woman's face.
With that May went to sit down in the corner of the room and observed everyone else. Within seconds children began to crowd up around her, making her beam. "May could we get see one of your Pokémon!" a little boy screamed excitedly.
"Please pretty please!" a little girl pleaded.
"I want to see Glaceon!" a boy and a girl said simultaneously.
"Alright then," May reached for a Pokéball and stood up. "Take the stage Glaceon!" May twirled then threw the Pokéball, catching everyone's attention.
"Gla," Glaceon smiled at all the children it saw.
"It's so cool!" a boy exclaimed.
"It's so cute!" another girl squealed.
Soon many children got around the Ice-type and began hugging it and petting it. May got amazed that no one began fighting over Glaceon and Glaceon appeared to be enjoying the attention as much as the kids were enjoying touching her.
"May you're so awesome!" a boy and a few other children got near the brunette.
"I don't think anyone on this earth would ever do what you do!" a girl declared.
"You're the best coordinator ever, you're bigger than life itself!" another boy spread his arms out wide as a way to show his admiration for the girl.
"You're so sweet," May fought back the tears forming in her eyes. Her voice began to feel weak so the coordinator simply got on her knees to be at the children's height. In an instant all of them cuddled up against her. From all sides May began to feel little arms wrap around her. She even seemed to be receiving more attention than Glaceon as she felt herself lose her balance for a second because so many kids were clinging onto her.
May tried to grab as many as she could in her arms, but she enjoyed the company of all of them. She found it adorable how some rubbed against her cheek and others attempted to give her a bear hug. Eventually, the nurses stepped in though, "Alright kids, let's give May some space. She probably needs to breathe some air."
"Yes ma'am," the kids said simultaneously and separated from her then turned their attention to her Glaceon.
As May prepared to stand up she noticed a timid-looking boy approaching her. "Hello little guy," May smiled at the brown-haired boy.
"May..." the boy said with a very low and shy voice.
"Yes?" May beamed at him, barely hearing him.
"Is it true that you only help people like us and Pokémon in need...because you're an attention seeker like they say on the news?" the boy timidly asked with his face down.
May shook her head sideways, "Absolutely not." The brunette stood up and picked up the little boy, startling him for a moment. The brunette placed him on her lap and began to speak, "I help people and Pokémon because it's something I love. Assisting others in need is something I've always done since I first started my journey. My mom always told me that the best way to make your life count is by helping and loving others. Don't think of me as someone who enjoys the spotlight just because you hear it from someone else; in reality I love everyone, like you." The girl then placed a kiss on top of the boy's head, making him blush a bit as other male kids got a bit jealous.
"Wow May, that's...that's so nice of you," the boy embraced her.
May returned his hug and ran her hand up and down his back. "Thank you for the Blaziken toy, I've always wanted one," the boy whispered to her.
"You're welcome sweetie," May replied and the two separated. The child then got off her lap and excused himself to go play with the other kids and Glaceon.
As May admired the children one of the nurses walked up to her. "Excuse me, one of the kids would like to meet you, but I'm afraid they can't walk," the nurse informed her.
"I'd be happy to meet her," May smiled at the nurse.
"She's right over there," the nurse pointed to where the child was.
May walked over to the little girl sitting on her bed. When she saw May approach a smile grew across her face. "Hey there honey," May beamed at her then picked her up.
"Hi," the girl said with a baby voice, she was probably no older than 4.
"What's your name?" May inquired as she held the child.
"Mwichelle," the toddler answered.
"That's a very pretty name Michelle," May smiled at her.
"Tank you!" the girl giggled.
"You're such a cutie pie. If I could I'd take you with me forever," May rubbed her nose against the little girl's nose, making her giggle even more.
"I can't go witchu bwecuz my legs hwave a boo-boo an I cannot walk for my hwole lwife," the girl said, still smiling despite the condition she was in.
May thought about the girl's legs and looked a bit down, sighing out of sadness. "Are you swad?" the girl asked her.
"Nope," May quickly fixed her disposition and smiled, "You know Michelle? You're a really strong little girl for being able to smile so brightly."
"When the nwurses read storwies that always twalk about smiling, swo I just do what da storwy says," the blond-haired girl said.
"That's such a beautiful thing; I think everybody should be more like you. Smiling is the best way to be happy about life," May placed Michelle on her bed again as she talked to her.
"Ywep, just smwile!" the girl flashed her pearl white teeth, making May giggle.
As May looked away to fight back any urge to cry she spotted a nurse and called her over. "Yes, how may I help you?" the nurse asked.
"Is this girl every going to be able to walk again?" May questioned.
"I'm afraid not. Her parents cannot afford the $25,000 treatment needed for her to start walking. Her parents are barely able to keep her in the hospital; most of their money goes to this place to make sure their daughter remains alive," the nurse sighed.
That's unfair, life shouldn't have a price. May became disturbed by the money requirement needed for such a sweet child to live. She looked at Michelle, who kept smiling at her and May smiled back.
May quickly dug into her fanny pack and got out a pen and a checkbook. When the nurse realized what she was doing, her eyes grew in size. The brunette wrote her signature in the check and ripped it out of the check book in a second. "Can I trust you with this money?" May held the check as she looked at the nurse.
The nurse may not be a Joy, but she still had the kindness of a nurse and that was enough to assure May that she could trust the stranger. "Yes of course," the nurse nodded.
"I need you to inform this girl's parents that her treatment has been paid for and to begin the procedure immediately. I think it should be enough...right?" May spoke to the nurse.
"Right!" the nurse nodded obediently, amazed by the coordinator's generosity.
May handed her the check and the nurse received it. "The things they say about you...they're true," the nurse had a wide smile on her face.
"What do you mean?" May raised an eyebrow, wondering if she was referring to the negative rumors about her.
"Everyone...especially the children, when they talk about you, they say you're a really nice person and see you do good and fun stuff on television. They call you an angel and even a saint...and now I believe the same," the nurse wiped away a tear forming in the corner of her eye.
May's eyes widened, but then she quickly regained her composure and smiled. "It's just what I do," the brunette said sweetly.
"Why do I get the feeling that we're lost Pikachu," Ash ran down a street, still trying to find the hospital. "It feels like we've been wandering for hours," the raven-haired boy sighed.
"Pi," Pikachu also let out a deep breath, wishing he had a solution.
"If only Clemont and Bonnie were here, they could get around Lumiose City with their eyes closed," Ash began to slow down and walk as he thought about his two Kalos friends. Abruptly, they heard the sounds of what appeared to be helicopters.
"Pikachu?" Pikachu looked up at the sky with Ash.
"Hey look Pikachu, helicopters," Ash wondered what helicopters were doing around here.
"Pi!" an idea struck Pikachu and the mouse ran off.
"Hey Pikachu, what's going on?! Wait up!" Ash got caught off guard by Pikachu's action and began to chase him through the Lumiose streets. Not this again, now I know how all my friends felt whenever I'd suddenly run off, Ash thought as he pursued the mouse.
Ash chased Pikachu for some time and noticed something odd, wherever the helicopters were heading, so was Pikachu. Soon enough, Ash's suspicions got confirmed when Pikachu stopped in front of large crowd stationed in front of a tall and beautiful building with a red cross on it. The auburn-eyed boy looked above and noticed that the choppers were hovering over the building.
"Pikachu, this is the hospital right?" Ash looked at the building. The helicopters, the crowd of people, and the limo he discovered that was parked behind him, all suggested one thing.
"Pika!" Pikachu pointed at the entrance of the hospital.
The crowd began to roar and cameras began to roar. Whistling and compliments echoed through the street as the person exiting caused a great deal of uproar. All of a sudden, guards appeared from nowhere and formed a perimeter around the limo and kept the crowds at bay while forming a path so the person could pass to get to their limo.
"Excuse me please," a man in a black suit pushed Ash and Pikachu aside while he setup the perimeter.
"Hey," Ash gritted his teeth out of annoyance for being pushed aside like that. However, his attention quickly turned to the chanting.
"May, May, May!" the crowd roared as some guards came out with a recognizable face.
Ash and Pikachu's motioned to the hospital entrance and eyed it intently. There, among all the people, was a girl Ash had not seen in ages. She was crowded by guards and many fans tried to reach out for her. Ash's auburn eyes widened as he got a better look of her as she got closer.
Waving at the people, blowing kisses, and smiling at all the strangers, it amazed Ash. Her sapphire eyes glistened beautifully as she smiled to all the people cheering her name. Ash was as immobile as a statue as he gazed her.
Her hair was like it had been all those years before, but under the sun it seemed to shine radiantly. The pair could not believe they were watching the girl they had traveled with so long ago in person, at last. Her giggling and waving gave Ash some goose bumps; all the attention she received reminded Ash that his good friend was now a part of the celebrity world.
For some odd reason it felt like he was meeting her all over again. Her sapphire eyes reflected the flash of the cameras and some of the compliments thrown at her somewhat alarmed Ash since they weren't exactly appropriate, but he shook it off. Ash could no longer resist and yelled with his most powerful voice, "May, over here!" the boy yelled.
"Pikapi!" Pikachu also joined Ash in the screaming.
As May continued walking down, getting closer to chance with every step he began yelling more stuff. "It's me! It's so great to see you! May!" Ash got excited with each of his remarks, wondering what May would think when she realized he was among the crowd. The thought made him chuckle for a moment as he continued yelling her name.
"May!" Ash shouted as the sapphire-eyed girl passed right by him and caught his eyes. The brunette smiled at him and waved as she continued to walk down. May's action instantly surprised Ash and Pikachu. "I don't think she saw us pal," Ash looked at his friend.
"Pika," Pikachu suggested.
Ash nodded and yelled again as he ran down the crowd to catch up with May. "May! May!" Ash screamed multiple times, but the brunette just seemed to ignore him and kept walking.
"It's us!" Ash exclaimed. But May just smiled and waved in his direction and then continued walking, now near her limo.
Has the fame gotten to her head and made her forget about her friends? Ash became puzzled as to why May failed to notice them. Suddenly, Ash's action became more radical as he burst out of the crowd and yelled once more before May could get in her limo.
"May, it's me, Ash!" Ash shouted as loud as he could.
All of a sudden, among all the other screams, May was able to hear Ash's and when she heard his name it caused her turn around immediately. She shut her limo door before turning around and once she looked at the boy who stood just a few feet away from her, she became confused.
"Finally," Ash smiled and ran over to her. The interaction between the two caught some people's attention, but the majority continued shouting to get May's attention like Ash had done. Just as Ash got a foot near her, May's guards blocked him from reaching her. Ash halted his running and frowned, "Hey what gives?"
"Pika," Pikachu became aggressive and started to emit sparks from its cheeks.
"May, tell these guys to let us pass," Ash tried to take a glimpse of the brunette, but the guards kept blocking his view.
"Stop guys," May ordered with a stern tone. Abruptly, the guards split up and allowed Ash and May to be face to face. "May, it's so good to see you!" Ash took a few steps closer and smiled at her; however, that only caused the girl to raise an eyebrow.
"Your name is Ash?" May questioned him curiously.
"Uh...yeah." Ash got confused by her inquiry.
"Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town?" a smile began to dance across May's face.
"Yeah," Ash smiled but still felt awfully confused.
May giggled as she stared at the boy. "What's up May?" Ash started to get uncomfortable and even Pikachu became visibly baffled.
"Even though you already know me, let me introduce myself personally. My name is May and I'm from Petalburg City. Nice to meet you Ash...Ketchum," May lifted her head high with a smile as she extended her hand out.
May's words instantaneously sent a shock through Ash and Pikachu's minds.
