05 | Burning Kisses

"With a secret like that, at some point the secret itself becomes irrelevant. The fact that you kept it does not."

You could feel his warmth against you. His eyes deep into yours and waiting for you to respond to his doings as you pull your lips in a forceful smile.

"No." You straightforwardly say, backing away, leaving him speechless. He rolls his eyes, ruffling his hair, and looking around.

"Should have gone with the flow. Something good may have happened." He says gazing at you, flashing the same charming smirk in your direction. His hand grabs the coat he was wearing in the process.

"I think I should quit." You nonchalantly reply looking at him in the eye remembering what had just taken place a few minutes ago.

"No way!" He answers without any hesitation, seeming a bit troubled. "Yes, way." You say denying him and plagiarizing his words.

"If you quit . . ." He pauses in thought, trying to find a blackmail. He needed a blackmail real quick, so he can survive.

"Quit?" You question waiting for him to continue his words having arrogance on your face with your arms crossed.

"Nevermind, just don't quit." He immediately says, his fingers scratching the back of his head.

"Why?" Now he had to take a solid reason to make you stay. Because after what he did, there was no chance you will.

"If you quit, I will kiss you. Right here, right now." He says pointing to the ground. His chin is high and powerful.

"What the fuck?" Your eyes go wide. This man was something else. Could he only find this blackmail? Not something else. "No." You say fighting back pointing a finger at him.

He approaches you, his shoe hitting the ground, "Try me, Ms. Y/N." He says inches away from you. His fingers playing with your left hand's fingers that were hanging on the side.

"Fine." You roll your eyes. He looks like in desperate need of a secretary. But why threaten you with a kiss?

"I need a secretary anyways." The businessman says, going back towards his desk, his leg half hanging on his desk. It was so obvious. He did not think of that place as a location to keep documents at. But a place where he can sit and lay. Damn. This leaves you more speechless.

You had to accept the fact that less than two weeks ago, you were going to kiss your boss, and now, you see him with a different girl. This had taken a huge toll on you. Was he playing with you? With your heart? Maybe he was. He looked like a player from the way he met that girl. Maybe he thought of you as a thing as well. Nothing else that he cared for even a little bit.

You had decided to work professionally. You wished to have a nice experience here. You didn't know why your chests stung the moment you realized this man was the one with the girl.

You sigh, completely ignoring the feelings that occurred in your chest, the fear invading your insides. You went into your secretary mode and decided to introduce yourself as his new secretary. He was back at his desk, waiting for you to speak with curious eyes. His legs now falling down the desk as he plays with the watch on his wrist sitting on it and having a sharp gaze on you.

"Mr. Jeon, I am Park Y/N, your new secretary. Please, take good care of me. I wish we could stay as professional as we can." You give a polite smile that was unintentionally turning out mocking. He chuckles glancing in another direction.

It was an indirect warning for him because you had seen him with that girl. He was going to kiss you too. Did he think you're one of those girls? No way. If he did, then he's a piece of trash. You will try to stay as professional as you can.

"Okay, go to your office. I will send you some files, work on that. You are dismissed." He utters, ordering you while shaking his hand in your direction and squinting his eyes unwillingly. You now had to leave the office to go to yours, but you could not resist a last glance at him, which had turned into an instant eye contact that left you feeling a lot of emotions inside. You immediately look away walking to the room beside you since the receptionist had also explained to you about that. Where your office would be.

After working the whole day alone in the office, you finally had a break. Your feet hit the floor as you reach the main doors of the company building. When you went outside, your eyes are on the van as you look around so you wouldn't get caught and decide to hop in it. The van door unlocks and Raya gestures for you to get inside quickly. You go inside and sit beside her.

"Sandwich?" You give her an empty hand prompting her to give it to you. She wanted to meet, and you couldn't let your stomach die because of her. Raya gives you a sandwich and starts eating hers as well.

"So, how was your day?" Since today was the first day at work, she was probably curious as to what happened.

"Jeon Jungkook is my boss." You say without any reluctance munching down the sandwich in your hands. She starts coughing nonstop as she turns in another direction. Of course, it's too surprising for her.

"What?!" Raya yells; her eyes wide. "Yeah, what a coincidence." You speak with a sarcastic tone and a mocking smile, repeating the words that the handsome man had said to you.

Raya's laugh surrounds your environment as you awkwardly look at her, "Why? What happened today?" She asks genuinely curious.

"I saw him with a girl and heard moaning sounds outside his office door after just entering the building, and standing outside of it." You state dramatically rolling your eyes.

"Why?" Raya grimaces waiting for her answer in the dark van that belonged to her. The driver today was her manager who was uncaring and using his phone peacefully.

"What why?" You question, perplexed, since it did not make sense to you.

"You're beautiful. He met you that night. How the fuck is he already with a girl? He should've been daydreaming about you!" Being a best friend, she's here to take your side and you agree sassily rolling your eyes thinking about the bastard.

But you still try to retreat, "Nah, he seems like he ain't interested." You sadly gulp the sandwich kind of pouting unknowingly.

"Nevermind, I feel like something more is there." Raya vocalizes blinking at you. You just nodded, not even thinking about her sentence and focusing on the delicious sandwich in your hands.

"However . . . Are you sure . . ." She pauses in her words as she continues taking a huge bite and gulping it. "That Jimin likes me?" Raya asks, still not believing what you had told her earlier. You bop your head looking down.

"From when?" She's curious bending in your direction a little bit.

"I think . . . Six months? I don't know." You're busy in your world as she hums and continues her thing as well.

Your days went on by working as a secretary for Jeon Jungkook. And of course, staying professional. However, he was strange, or were you?

One day, when you went to give him some files, your finger scratched the pin that was there. It was bleeding and you felt peculiar since his eyes strangely turned red, and veins had started popping out of them. It seemed like he was trying to keep his mouth closed. You're so baffled. Did you see wrong? Were you wrong?

When you asked him, 'What's wrong?', he just shook his head and rudely instructed you to get out with a sentence like, 'It's nothing and it's none of your business. Now get out!'. You would have fought back but yeah, it's none of your business.

You kept your mouth shut and saw him again with another girl. Strange, too strange. All of them were covering their necks, wearing turtlenecks, scarves wrapped around their throats, or just something else. Like they're all trying to hide something. Was it his hickeys? Were you thinking too much? Yeah, it should be that. He's a literal playboy in the end. But what about his eyes? Those veins, what was the meaning of that? Were you hallucinating? Is that it? You're probably thinking too much. You shouldn't. It was none of your business anyway like he said.

He had a meeting today and you sit beside him listening to the business plans the employees had to explain.

You keep the files on the table and decide to get one out, because of which Jungkook and your hands touch, and grace each other. You immediately back away casually checking the other files on your right. He clears his throat once and takes a good look at your files and ends up continuing his work.

A man who was going to give his idea in front of his boss stands near a screen declaring, "We have already chosen the model for our advertisement. He's very popular in the real world." The person utters taking the remote to change the picture but gets interrupted.

Jungkook caresses his chin laying back in his desk chair, as he's very interested in this topic, pulling his brows together, he's ready to ask his question. His thighs look thick through the process, "Who is it?"

"Mr. Kim. Please, step inside." Your all-time favorite celebrity has walked in. A hand in his pocket, and a maroon suit engulfing him. It was obvious, fashion was everything to this man.

You hadn't realized how your eyes had started sparkling looking at him. Your palm under your chin. Were you dreaming right now? Yes!

Taehyung stands in the middle beside the middle-aged man who was being questioned by his boss. Jungkook glances at you noticing your excitement as his frown gets deeper.

"You didn't even ask me? Who do you think is the boss here?" Jungkook mocks, standing up from his chair, and the man, he flinches. What's with him? They're friends, right? Then why is he angry now?

"I am so sorry, boss. I won't do it again. It's my fault. I apologize for the mistake. He apologizes, and you sigh looking around and avoiding looking at Jungkook since you felt so bad for him.

You stand up trying to approach him, the great Kim Taehyung, "Hello, Mr. Ki—" Out of Nowhere, Jeon Jungkook randomly pulls him in a hug. "How have you been?" He asks, leaving you speechless with your hand out for a handshake. When you're going to take it away, Taehyung still shakes it in Jungkook's embrace.

"It's been a long time." He awkwardly utters. Let's just not talk about the embarrassment you're feeling because of this weird guy. This Jeon Jungkook was something else. He had so many plans to make your life hell.

"But wait, you're working here—" He's cut off when his gaze moves to a Jungkook who's glaring at him after being ignored of his question. Taehyung had to answer him to save his life. "Ah . . . I have been amazing. What about you?" He speaks and Jungkook nods, removing himself from his friend's embrace and dropping his hands in his pockets with his gaze on the ground, "I have been good too." He uncaringly says.

"Anyways, did Jungkook hire you specifically?" His lips pull up in a smirk and he starts wiggling his eyebrows, moving his gaze to the businessman who's on the verge of smacking him and sending him to Jupiter.

You're left speechless. Why is your life so confusing? What is he talking about? Him? Hiring you? Why? You give him an odd look, frowning and displaying a bit of confusion.

"It's nothing." He chuckles awkwardly after seeing Jungkook's glare. You're more bewildered now but you let it be.

"I have some work to do." Jungkook nonchalantly declares, grabbing your wrist and immediately walking away.

The celebrity waves at you while the man who you hate so much is dragging you out. Why? Why even yell at that man? It was so annoying to you? You try to get out of his grip.

"What happened?! Where are you taking me?! Who even grabs his secretary's hand like this?!" You had forgotten all of your formalities because of his behavior.

He suddenly grabs your hand, and takes you out of his meeting room, in front of people, which wasn't formal at all. His hands push you inside his office as you stand in the middle, bewildered. He looks at you, thinking what he was going to do.

"I am sorry." Jungkook apologizes brushing his hand over his face seeming troubled. Your brows bump into each other looking at him, "What do you mean?"

The businessman approaches you, his grey suit illuminating in the sunlight, his watch shining on his wrist. You back away little by little finally hitting the desk with your back.

"I am sorry for what I am going to do." He observes you, his eyes narrowing. It took you three seconds to realize how he had already smashed his lips on yours.

You stand frozen, your heart thumping in your chest. This was a surprise to you. You couldn't move your lips, howbeit, he still had pulled you closer by the waist. Your hands hanging in the air. Not touching him, not even on your sides.

"Fine, you don't wanna—" He starts, backing away, although was cut off by you, the moment you grabbed his tie and pulled him closer. He gazes in your eyes searching in them, and your arms immediately get wrapped around his neck pulling him closer. Not letting even a little space be between you and him. You move closer kissing him back.

You didn't know what had gotten in you. Your fingers ran through his soft hair, and you both were hungrily kissing each other like there was no tomorrow. Your nails scratching his back out of more thirst and clenching onto his hair. Your mind was clouded. You couldn't think of anything. There was a fire burning inside of you, and butterflies that ran in your stomach. Your blood rushed in your veins, and you could hear your heart hammering in your chest. It felt like time stopped.

─── JUNGKOOK'S POV

It felt like she did some kind of magic on me. I couldn't hold myself back from her. I sucked on her lower lip and she slightly moaned.

I am feeling the fire in me. I want more. I wanted more. I didn't even think before smashing my lips against hers. I always wanted to, and I did in the end. Here I am, kissing her madly. My heart was beating so fast, I couldn't stop myself.

I always controlled myself when I was with her, so I wouldn't do anything irrational. But when I saw her getting excited over Tae, I just lost it. I wanted to make her mine, but I couldn't. We weren't meant for each other, and I had to stop myself. But before I did, she pushed me away and walked out of the office; not even looking me in the eye.

─── NARRATOR'S POV

You wanted more but you just couldn't. You couldn't have it. Because as long as you remember, you had made a promise to yourself. Never being one of those girls that he thought you were. He saw you as one of them. What were you going to do? You pushed him away, gasping for air, and went out of the room.

You walk towards your office fanning yourself, because you're hundred percent blushing. You unlock the door and your gaze moves to Kim Taehyung sitting on your desk peacefully. Damn, these two friends had some kind of hobby to them. They probably were blind when it came to chairs but since it's him, Kim Taehyung, he's forgiven. You believe he was waiting for you.

"So, did you have fun in your little make-out session?" Taehyung inquires with a smug smile on his face leaving you embarrassed. You're so flustered and out of words.

"You knew? H-How—" You stutter, highly strung because of the man's words. Your hands close the door behind you as you're looking down now. Wait, it was nothing to be embarrassed about. It was just a kiss.

"Of course, I knew. You take your time to come back, and when you do, you have your lipstick smudged and your whole face, beetroot red. So . . . How was he?" You hide your face in your hands for almost three seconds as you then run taking a mini mirror from your bag trying to make yourself look presentable real quick. You needed to keep your image. This is serious.

"No comment." You finally reply, readying yourself.

"Oh come on!" Taehyung whines like a kid gesturing his hand in front of you. He needed tea.

He's behaving like Jimin when he doesn't get his favorite dumpling. Does Jungkook have this kind of side to him too? If he did, you're ready to view it.

You laugh, singing playfully, "No comment~~" After a moment you decide to move on, "What is it? What are you doing here?" You mutter standing near a couch which had your bag on it now.

"I wanted to tell you something." He looks down, taking a deep breath. You hum looking back at him from the mirror.

"I felt familiar with your name before. I now remember why it was so familiar. I am your brother's best friend, Kim Taehyung. I had to formally introduce myself right? You're my best friend's sister." You're too flabbergasted hearing it. Your jaw falls to the floor. But wait . . .

"How did you know?" You don't think Jimin would talk about you. Or . . . Did he?

"Jimin always talks about you saying stuff like 'My sister Y/N is the sweetest girl you would ever find. I am a lucky brother. She did this today and that. Blah blah blah!" He sassily rolls his eyes saying his story.

You giggle, "Really? It must have been tiring."

"Yeah, it was." He wipes his imaginary sweat from his forehead as he sighs exhaustedly acting too tired remembering his memories.

Now, it was your turn. He needs to answer the questions too that you wanted to ask.

"I have some questions for you too, Mr. Kim." You keep your compact in your bag, turning and crossing your arms, leaning on the couch's handle.

"Feel free to call me Taehyung." He ruffles his hair tilting his head curious about your words.

"Okay!" You nod sucking your cheeks in as he gestures you pulling his hand in his direction. "Fire."

"What were you talking about when we were in the meeting room, about Mr. Jeon hiring me specifically?" Your question makes him arch his brows while looking down.

"I am sorry, but it's his thing to say. Jungkook's thing to say. I can't tell you that. It's not my place." He responds turning serious. You believe he cherishes his friend a lot, from the way he respects him so much.

"Okay, I understand. The next question is about the girls that he brings. Why do they always wear a scarf, turtle neck, or something to hide their necks? It's strange." You flutter your eyelashes confused.

"What are you talking about? He brings girls? From when?" He interrogates jumping down from your desk, his hands patting his pants just in case.

"You don't know? You are his friend, right? Why didn't you know? I don't know when he started bringing them. But on my first day, I saw a girl getting out of his office with a tur-" You couldn't finish your sentence.

He seemed in rage and went out of your office to you assume Jungkook's office. You peek out of the door and see him slamming Jungkook's door open. You flinch because of the sound and go inside to do your work again, trying to avoid the drama that may be happening. It didn't even seem right to listen to them. You will right now, listen to your instincts.
