[Sonic's POV]

I gasped out. "Oh my Chaos, Silver I'm so sorry!"

"What!? Wha-What's going on!?" His voice rang inside my- his- head. I ran to a nearby river. I knew what had happened; it's normal for me, but for him.... "Wha....?"

The reflection back was Silver, but the fur was slightly tilted blue, and the quills were brushed back. The green eyes of his reflection shone back at me.

I had taken over his body, just like Dark and Exe often did with me.

"Why am I not in control of my body!? Why do I look like that!?" I could feel that Silver was having a panic attack, and I tried my best to calm him down.

"Don't worry! Nothing exactly bad has happened! I just might've taken over your body...."

"What!?"

"Dark and Exe do this with me all the time! You're fine!" I laughed a bit nervously.

"Wait, if you know how this works, then you could switch us back right?"

I paused for a moment. Of course I knew how to; I've been doing it my entire life, but all I wanted to do was find Dark, and figure out what was going on. Who knows what could've happened with him and Tails! I was panicked, and I needed to find answers, so I just had to lie to him. "Um... you see, Dark and Exe know how to control it, but, uh, I don't."

Silver groaned, and I instantly felt bad, but it was too late; I had made my decision and now it's time to find Dark.

[Dark's POV]

"Dark!? Are you sure that this is a good idea?" Tails was right behind me as I stomped away from the base. I had no clue where I was going, but I knew that I was going to get my hands on Eggman one way or another.

"If you don't like it, then you can stay behind." I growled out, anger boiling in my veins. I could feel my aura appearing as I continued my way.

I didn't hear Tails again, so I assumed that he had stayed back.

Good for him.

[Sonic's POV]

"He has to be here...." I stared at the door to Eggman's lair. 'Silver, be prepared for anything; Dark could be incredibly unstable.'

"What do you mean by unstable?" Silver questioned, causing me to sigh.

'This is the first time this has ever happened, so I've never seen it for myself, but Dark can't stand being alone. He doesn't like his thoughts, and sometimes they lead him to do some bad things.' I braced myself as I opened the door and walked in.

"So you think he came all the way here to hurt Eggman?"

'I'm scared that he came here to make sure that Shadow was alright and snapped on Eggman.'

Walking through the lair, I sighed a bit in relief as I noticed that everything was in its place.

That is, until I got to Shadow's room.

There wasn't anything bad about the room itself; if anything it was cleaner than usual.

But...

"Wh-Where's Shadow...?"

"Is this where he was suppose to be?"

'Yeah....' I felt my heart speeding up in growing anxiety. His bed was still there, so did he get up himself?

Did I miss it?

Suddenly those ruby eyes were all that I could think about. Someone had seen them before me. I felt myself fall to my knees as I stared at the bed.

"I missed him waking up...." I put a hand to my muzzle, wiping the tears that I knew were there off.

"Maybe he's still nearby." Silver suggested quickly. "Maybe he's with Dark!"

'But where's Dark?' I sighed outwardly, standing back up.

"I don't know, but we have to keep looking!"

I smiled. Sometimes that kid was more optimistic than me. It's a nice thing to have around. 'Alright, we'll keep looking.'

I ran out, knowing that neither Dark or Shadow would want to stay in there. I stopped to think for a moment, but a happy call interrupted any of my thoughts.

"Silver!"

"That's Tails! Maybe he knows how what to do!" Silver was quick to be hopeful, but I was just frozen in fear.

Tails was with Dark before I was put into Silver's body. He has to know something... but can I face him after our last encounter?

I found myself turning around despite my train wreck of thoughts. Tails slowly came to a stop only a few feet in front of me, looking confused and slightly shocked. I had almost forgotten that I changed Silver's features a bit.

He took a step further. "Silver...?"

"Um... sort of?" I smiled a bit nervously; it was going to be tough to explain this to him.

He took another step forward, and before I knew it he was close, staring directly into my eyes. I could tell that his brain was reeling and it all suddenly came to a stop when- "Sonic!"

I was hugged tightly, and I could've sworn that I felt tears landing on my shoulder. "Y-You're okay! I'm so sorry; I had no idea what you were going through this! I-I acted without thinking!"

"What? This isn't your fault at all!" I hugged him just as tightly as he was hugging me. "I should've told you to begin with, little bro! It's not that I didn't trust you; it's just-"

"I know." Tails let go of me, smiling. I felt myself calm a little bit, feeling a smile come on my own muzzle. "How did this happen? Why are you in Silver's body?"

"I don't really know, but we'll figure it out after we find Dark and Shadow."

"Dark left a couple minutes ago."

"What's he planning?" I quickly asked.

"Nothing good." Tails glanced back and pointed. "He's trying to find Eggman!"

I know I paled a bit at that sentence. "Ah, jeez, we have to get him before he does anything he might regret!"

I grabbed Tails by the wrist and quickly ran in the direction he pointed.

"Sonic! Wait! There's one more thing!" I stopped, looking to Tails. "Something happened to Knuckles. I think Eggman might've done something to him."

'Ah, jeez.... It's probably all my fault too, huh....' I sighed, feeling a bit of guilt welling up a bit. Of course, I was too in my head and ignored everyone's concerns. Knuckles just wanted to help me, and now look at what happened.

"Alright, then we'll look out for him." I smiled to Tails before running off, my little bro following right behind.

So, um, there's no good way to say this but...

We've only got a few chapters left.

I know, I know, it's sad, but the story will end soon.

Okay, I'm done being dramatic haha; I have plenty more stories to work on after this, so it's almost a good thing that I'm finally finishing this.
