Tobias POV

At work I can't rub the smile off my face. I can't believe I'm marrying the only person I've ever loved.

I manage to get off work around 10. Walking towards our house I notice the silence. Tris would normally be making noise, and a lot of it. Maybe she went to bed early. Yeah, nothing bad happened, she just wanted to get well rested before our wedding. I open the door. It's unlocked. Tris always locks the door. She must have forgotten, thinking I'll do it when I get home. I take a deep breath, convincing myself she's fine. I walk into the living room and see a bat covered in blood. My breath gets caught in my throat. I see a limp body out of the corner of my eye. I spin around and look at the person.

Tris.

How could the happen? I was only gone for 14 hours. I run to her a scoop her up in my arms. She's still alive, thank god. I don't think I could handle losing her twice. I sit their for about 10 minutes, holding her and swaying. My only thought is that she has to stay alive. I don't know what to do. The sound of the phone ringing draws me away from Tris. I don't want to leave her but maybe the person on the phone can help me.

"Hello. This is Four speaking. How may I help you?" Even though my friends know what my name is, I still prefer them to call me Four.

"Hey Four, it's Zeke. I was just wondering if you and Tris are still up for a game tonight?"

"Zeke. I need your help." The sense of urgence in my voice warns him that what I'm about to say is not a joke. "Someone broke in and attacked Tris." I hear a gasp on the other end of the line. Everyone loves Tris, as a friend. Nobody wants her to get hurt, especially after what happened. "She's alive, but barely. There's blood everywhere. Zeke..." My breath gets caught and I realise I'm crying. "...Help." I hang up before he can reply. I start sobbing uncontrollably. What if Tris dies? What if I lose her again? I can't let this happen. I just can't.

I take a deep breath and control myself. Just as I finish the door bursts open, revealing Zeke, Shauna, Matthew, Caleb and Christina. Christina runs up and embraces me. She knows what it's like to lose someone you love. She's lost two; Will and Uriah. The others run into the living room, leaving Shauna sitting in the doorway. She now has bionic legs but mustn't of had time to put them on.

Christina releases my and I look down at her. Her eyes are swimming in unshead tears. It suddenly strucks me. I'm not the only one who might be losing someone I love. Christina might be losing her best friend. Caleb might be losing a sister, even though their relationship never repaired after what he did to her.

Zeke and Matthew return from the living room, their hands covered in blood. Tris' blood. I hear a phone dialling and Caleb talking to someone. He must have called the doctors. When he hangs up he runs back into the entrance.

"The ambulance will be here in 5 minutes. There's nothing we can do until then. We don't want to move her until we know her condition. We could only make it worse." Sometimes I forget he use to be Erudite. "I found this." He holds up a red piece of paper. I guess it use to be white but Tris' blood stained it. Caleb past it to me. Slowly, I read it.

'Tris,

Congratulations on your marriage. I hope you and Tobias live happily together for the rest of your lives.

Who am I kidding. How could you even like that prick let alone love him. There are so many better people. Like me. But no, you chose him. So you're going to have to live with the conseqences.

"Peter." The name comes out as nothing more than a snarl. With the despise drippnig from my voice, the others know exactually what he did.

Hey guys

Sorry it's been a while and all you get is a really bad, short chapter. I should be asleep now but I'm not. I'll regret it in the morning but, oh well. You guys get a chapter. Read it really slowly so by the time you finish, hopefully, the next chapter will be up. I'm talking like a Semtex or paragraph a day slow. Thank you for still reading. I really appreciate it.
