Amber's POV.

Everything was silent for a while after the meeting had finished. Then finally the silence was broken by Jane speaking.

" Werewolves are so much more interesting than I originally thought. " she said.

" Humans are too. Only their seeming more dangerous to me then interesting. " I admitted.

" Not all of us are bad. Once this is all over, I need to take you out to a human town for a girls night and show you just how entertaining and nice humans can actually be. " said Jane.

" If there are Facebook pages and different internet forms of people hating werewolves, it makes me wonder how many there are of people loving werewolves. " said Connor.

" Exactly. I'm sure we can show you the bright side of humans one day. " said Jane.

I smiled at her. " Maybe so. " I then turn to Connor. " Please contact Clayton and Tasha and have them bring over her kids. She's more then earned her freedom to see them. "

Connor nodded. " Alpha Conan, I need you to go to the packs doctor and get those wounds full looked at. " I said.

" Yes Luna. " he then left.

I then turned to Rebecca who was looking at me. " Now, what we're you and Connor doing when I showed up here?" I asked.

She lite up like Christmas lights and began to tell me about her entire morning. I listened intently as we lead her and one back to the front room by the big doors to the pack house.

She cut herself off when the front door opened and in walked Clayton and Tasha followed by two young kids. The kids looked around and saw their mother.

" MOM!" Cried Kyle.

" MAMA!" Cried Michelle as they burst into a run. Jane crouched down and took them both in her arms.

She was hugging them tightly. " Oh my children. I'm so sorry I got us into this mess. I'm so glad you're both ok. " she said.

They looked at her with wonder in their eyes as they began to tell her about how they were saved and Jane listened throughout the entire thing.

She was smiling. " Sounds like you two had quite the adventure." She said.

Kyle nodded. " Yup, it was really cool. Werewolves are awesome and so nice. " said Kyle.

" I wish I was a werewolf. " said Michelle with a cute little pout that had everyone giggling.

" Be happy with how you are now honey. After all, there's only one you in the world. You can replace that. " said Jane.

I smiled, that's one of the truest statements I've heard in a long time. My hand subconsciously moves over to fiddle with the ring on my ring finger. I need to tell Connor about our engagement.

Perhaps I should tell him now before the humans decide to make their move. " Clayton, we will be having lots of guests arriving by tonight. I need you to get the staff ready and to get their rooms prepared. I also need one of our biggest rooms, specifically one with two beds prepared for Jane and her kids please. " I said.

" Understood. " said Clayton.

" Tasha, could you talk to the kitchen staff and get them ready to prepare bigger meals for the next few days?" I asked.

Tasha does a fake salute. " You can count on me miss. " she said.

I grinned. Finally I turned my attention to Rebecca. " Rebecca, Connor and I need to have a private talk. Upstairs in the kids lounge I can hear Sasha playing up there with Walnut. Would you be able to stay with Pamela and her daughter for a bit while Connor and I talk?" I ask.

Connor's eyes widen a little but he doesn't say anything. She nods. " I can do that. I'll be just fine. " she said in my mind.

I smiled and ruffled her hair. " You're a strong kid. " I said. She beamed at the praise and we all split up. Jane and her kids followed us upstairs.

We made it to the lounge and Pamela seemed to understand what I was going to say before I could even say it. She walks up to me. " I can watch Rebecca for you. Do what you need to but tonight when things settle down I would like to have a small therapy session for you. " she said.

I nodded. " Thank you so much. I'll be there. " I said.

She nodded and I waved bye to Rebecca and the others before walking off to our room. Connor right behind me. We walk into the room and I make sure to lock the door behind me so we won't be bothered.

Connor doesn't say anything. He merely watches me, allowing for me to initiate the conversation. " I've been keeping a secret from you and I feel as though it is time for me to come clean before this stuff with the humans happen. " I said.

I walk over to him. I lift up my hand and run my thumb over the ring. He looks at it curiously. " This ring was given to me a few days after you went missing by your father. It once belonged to your mother. " I said.

He looked confused but intrigued all at the same time. " I was proud to wear the same ring your mother once wore. Only it became more special to me when we had our last conversation before your mind was warped by the Wolf Bane Fenris used on you. " I told him.

He seemed to grow a bit nervous. " My intention was never to keep this from you but it was a small, very emotional, very important memory that I wanted you to remember on your own. After talking with some of the guards I've come to realize that you deserve to know now. Memory remembered or not. I still feel as if I should ask for your permission before telling you this, so Connor, do you wish to know why this ring is so important to me?" I asked.

He seemed to be thinking through a lot of things as he stood there. Finally he came to a decision. " Yes, I would like for you to tell me. "

I nodded. " I hadn't been able to get in touch with you for days after you went missing. I could barely feel our bond. There were times where I couldn't feel you at all. Then one day you contacted me through our personal mind link. You said you wanted to speak to me one last time and you were shielding me from feeling how much agony Fenris was putting you through at the time. You were protecting me even in the midst of your own pain. I couldn't read your mind no matter how hard I tried so I could try and find your location. " I said.

He grew concerned. Tears of frustration burned my eyes. I was still rather upset with everything that happened. I know I will be upset by it for years to come.

' Remember Amber, he's with you now. He's safe. ' said my wolf.

I took a deep breath. I jumped when Connor took my hands gently in his and led me over to the bed. He had me sit before he crouched down in front of me and gave me the most supportive look he could.

" Please continue?" He asked.

I nodded and began to talk again. " You said some really important things to me. It was said fast and it was jumbled but I was able to make out what you were saying. You asked me to marry you Connor. " I said.

His eyes never changed. I thought he would look surprised by the news. " I said yes. " I whispered. My words barely audible to the human ear, but to us with enchanted hearing he heard it.

When he didn't say anything I started to panic. Was I wrong to tell him? What if he's angry with me?

He startled me out of my rambling thoughts by lifting my left hand and placing a kiss to my ring. " My beautiful fiancé. I could never be upset about this. " he said.

" B-but why? " I said, tears rolling down my face as I spoke. " I kept this a secret from you. Why aren't you upset about that?"

" There's no reason for me to be mad at you for this. You wanted me to remember it myself, correct?" He asked. I nodded and he continued. " then there's no reason for me to be angry or upset with you. "

I can only stare in confusion. He smiles at me sweetly. " I understand why you wanted me to remember it myself. It's a perfectly understandable reason. So let me tel you this. I am no upset. I am not angry and once the time is right, I will be proposing to you again in the way you deserve. " he said.

A small sob burst from my body and I lowered my head, overwhelmed with emotion. Could he really mean that?

" I mean every word that I am saying Amber. I always figured you wore that ring on that finger for a reason. Now I know and it fills me with overwhelming joy. Thank you for telling me. " he said.

" You're to good for me Connor. " I whispered as I looked back up at him.

" Not as good as you are for me. " he said before closing the distance and kissing me.

I closed my eyes and relished in the feeling of his body close to mine. Him being near me is how it should always be. I couldn't imagine anyone else being my mate. Only him.

He breaks away and wipes away the remaining tears on my face. " Now, I believe a small celebration is in order since I'm almost certain you never got to celebrate the first time. " he said.

" What do you have in mind?" I ask.

" Let me handle the details and I'll get back to you by tonight. Let me support you and enjoy giving you a wonderful surprise." He said.

" Ok, I can do that. " I said.

He kisses my forehead and then together we walk out of the room over to the others. He leaves me with them and gives me one last kiss to my cheek before leaving with Clayton and disappearing down the steps.

That went better than expected. He's so good. I can't wait to find out what he has planned. I smile and then get to talking with the others. All the while feeling a sense of relief. I truly couldn't have asked for a better mate.
