Chapter 109.
Alpha Conan's POV.
Amber and Tasha joined us later. The two of them had their arms intertwined and were smiling and giggling like little school girls. Just the sight of them so relaxed was enough to make everyone in the room smile.
Pamela seemed more at ease then she has been the past few days. I've noticed since I got back from the prison that she's been keeping a close eye on both Connor and Amber. She barely lets them out of his sight.
Amber and Tasha parted and went to their mates. Amber right away looked at Rebecca who was grinning at her. Amber sat down and Rebecca immediately climbed into her lap and a conversation started between the two of them.
Tasha was hugging Clayton and seemed very happy. I looked at Connor as he walked up to me. " When the coast is finally clear and we can get back to work, Amber mentioned that she wants us to go and get the humans ready for transport. " said Connor.
" I can definitely help with that. " I said.
Connor smiled. " You know, I don't remember much on how you were and how you acted when I was a kid, but right now I just have this feeling that mom would be proud of the man you've become. " said Connor.
That felt like a shot to the heart when he mentioned his mother. " Do you remember her?" I asked.
" I've had a few vague memories of her. Her singing to me when I was scared or letting me cuddle with her in the bed if I had a bad dream or it was just the two of us. " said Connor.
I smiled brightly. Those were things she did for him when he was little. He grew out of coming to us for bad dreams when he was ten but she never stopped cuddling him. She loved him so much.
" Do you really think she would be proud of me? I've done a lot of bad in my life and I'm only now changing. " I said. I know it's not something I should be asking my son to assure me on but I can't help it when it comes to my mate. She was an Angel sent from above. So beautiful and kind. Always seeing the good in everyone she came into contact with. Always saw the good in me even when I couldn't.
He smiled at me. " I know she would. " said Connor.
" You know she'd be very proud of you too. " I said.
" I know she would be. I wish I could remember more about her. " he said.
" I could send a few memories of her to you through mind link if you really wanted to see her. " I said.
His eyes widened and he looked at me with almost a pleading look. " You can do that?" He asked.
" Of course I can. I've been wanting to for a while. " I said.
" Please send me a memory now. I want a clear view of her face. " he said.
" Let me think of the right memory to send. " I said.
I then began thinking. Finally I found the right one and sent it to him through mind link while also allowing the memory to play out in my mind.

" Sweetie, have you seen Connor anywhere? I can't seem to find him. " said my mate as she knocked on my office door.
I rolled my eyes. That kid is always getting into trouble. " Just call him, I'm sure he will show up then." I said.
" I tried that. I even went to all his hiding spots and he's nowhere to be found. " I then looked up to see her.
I'll never get tired of seeing her face. She had bright blue eyes that sparkle, the same eyes Connor inherited. She had freckles sprinkled along her cheeks and on her nose. She had black hair like mine that was waist length, which she always kept in a pony tail or had it in a bun. She had the most beautiful smile. She was gorgeous.
" Have you asked Clayton and Cassandra's parents if he's over at one of their houses?" I asked.
" I have and they said they haven't seen him either. " said my mate.
" Alexandra, don't fret. Let me just set my stuff aside and I'll help you look for him " I said as I bookmarked the spot in my paperwork that I was working on.
We then left my office in search for our son. We spent all day looking for him and he was still nowhere to be found. We asked almost every member of our staff and Alexandra was nearing tears when we got back to my office.
" Don't worry honey. I'm sure he'll turn up soon. " I said once we made it to the door.
" What if rogues got him? What if he wandered off and we never find him again?" She cried.
" Nonsense. He's a smart kid. He knows where home is and how to protect himself. " I said.
" He's six Conan. He can barely remember to tie his own shoe. " said Alexandra.
" I'm sure we will find him. I'll get the guards to scour every inch of land in this pack until he's found. I won't rest until..." we both stopped when we heard a small crash come from inside my office.
We locked eyes and hope sparked in hers. We opened the door and sure enough there sat our son sitting on my desk focusing hard on my paperwork in front of him.
He was covered in twigs and dirt and he was concentrating so hard he had his tongue sticking out of his mouth. I looked at my mate and she sighed in relief before some anger burst through.
" Connor, just what do you think you're doing?" She growled.
He snapped out of his concentration and looked at us but didn't seem bothered at all by her anger. " Hi mama. I'm helping daddy with his paperwork. " he claimed.
" Where have you been all day?" She asked.
" I wanted to show daddy how big I am now. I went for a run along the border today. " he called.
My mates face paled. " By yourself?! Connor that's dangerous. " she cried.
" No, not by myself. Uncle Marcus went with me. " he said.
So that's why he gave me a knowing smile when we asked around for Connor. My mate seemed to relax a little. " Were you with him all day?" She asks.
" Yeah, he even showed me how to fill out some of the paperwork. It's difficult but I wanted to surprise you. See daddy, I can help you. I'm a big boy now. " he cried in joy.
I laughed and walked up to him. " Let me see what you did son. " I said.
I looked over the paperwork he was working on. Words were horribly misspelled and it was all written in crayon but he seems to have done it correctly. I laughed proudly and ruffled his hair. " You did great son. " I said.
" Does this mean I can help you more?" He asked.
" I'll make special assignments just for you but only if you promise me something. " I said.
He seemed very excited. " You will never go missing for an entire day again without telling us where you are. You worried your mother and I all day. We thought something bad had happened to you. " I said.
He looked down with a guilty look. " I'm sorry. I just wanted to surprise you. " he said.
Alexandra walked forward and hugged him. " Oh honey. It was a great surprise. I'm proud of you but as your mother I will always worry for you. " she said.
" We're not angry with you. We just care for you so much Connor. Promise me you'll be a big boy and be responsible enough to always come to us when you need to. " I said.
" I promise. ". He said. He then yawned and rubbed his eyes.
" Looks like someone's sleepy. Come on honey. Let's go get you a nice bath, something to eat and then it's off to bed you go. " said Alexandra.
" But I'm not finished yet. " said Connor sleepily as he held out his arms for his mother to pick him up. Which she did.
" It'll still be here for you to finish in the morning. Right Conan?" She said.
I chuckled. " I'll leave that one alone just do you to finish. " I said.
" Love you mama, love you daddy. " he said.
" Love you too son. " we both said.
She then walked away with him, leaving me alone in my office to deal with the mess my son made. I smiled fondly and got to work.

Connor snickered at the memory. " Wow. I must have been a terror to deal with. " he said.
" Sometimes but it was worth it. " I said.
He smiled. " I know I haven't said it since my mind was wiped. I think we both need this. I love you dad. " he said as he hugged me.
Warmth settled in my chest and I hugged my son back tightly. " Love you too son. Always. " I said.
