What just happened? Tobias barely cared. Then it hits me, he can't recognize me.  

I see Kara. "Kara!" 

She walks to me. "That instructor dude is freaky!"

 I shake my head. "He can't be that bad." I look at Tobias

Then I see Uriah. Wait... I thought he died. He's with Marlene and Lynn. What the heck is going on? 

"This is where we split. Christina yells. "Dauntless born with me, transfers with Four." Dauntless born start leaving.

"Welcome to Dauntless, I am Four your instructor." Tobias says. 

He scowls when Kara speaks up. "Four like the number?" 

Tobias looks angry. "What" He comes close, since Kara is next to me, I grin a little. "is your name?" He whispers.

 "Kara at your service! I heard you were in the war with... Tris Prior was it? Yeah, sad she..." 

Tobias near smacks her. "Shut your stupid mouth." He whispers. "No one ever, talk about the war." He yells. 

"What a jerk." Kara whispers in my ear.

I just stare at him.

"This is the Pit." He says when he opens the doors. It looks the same, but feels different. 

"Follow me and I'll show you the chasm. He leads us to the chasm. 

Bad memories, and good.

 "The chasm reminds us that there is a fine line between bravery and idiocy! A daredevil jump off this ledge will end your life. It has happened before and it will happen again. You've been warned." Tobias shouts over the sound of water. I think of Al. How he jumped, and ended his life. 

I find a seat with Kara at lunch. Hamburger again. I eat it normally. 

"God, Stiff, didn't follow rules much?" I turn and see Uriah.

 I smile. "Yeah, at least I can jump first." 

He frowns. "How do you know when I jumped?"

 I turn away.

"Ooh!" Kara says jokingly. She wiggles her eye brows.

 "Grow up!" I squeal. Playfully punching her.

 In the corner of my eye I see Tobias- staring at me.
