Jevin
Grian was the one nearest to Ren when he died. He claimed it was some form of poisoning, that it was an accident. Jevin thought that was absolute bullshit. Maybe he hadn't known, maybe it was a true mistake, but when he'd been described symptoms, it wasn't exactly a common poison. He might have been wrong - it was normally Stress who did that sort of thing, but she wasn't here. But assuming it was the type of poison he thought it was, there was no way it was accidental. Whether it was Grian or not, he didn't know.
He sighed, deciding he was just going to discreetly inform the others of his suspicions instead of making it public - he couldn't be too careful. He hadn't been too involved with much of the server shenanigans and didn't get involved with the many wars that occurred, but this was something pretty hard to ignore.
He decided just to head over to Grian's base, which was probably a dumb idea, but he didn't really care. He could probably just walk into the base and confront Grian, but he wasn't gonna be dumber than he was already being. He looked around, trying to see if Grian was nearby, but it seemed like he was gone. A hint of yellow caught his eye, and Jevin saw Xisuma walking by. He wasn't sure why Xisuma was there, but after all, why was he there?
"Hey Xisuma!" Jevin called, and Xisuma turned to face him, seemingly caught off guard.
"Hey Jevin, didn't expect to see you here," Xisuma said back, and Jevin noticed the slight difference in the way he talked. Something was up.
"I was just walking in the jungle to calm my nerves. The thing with the respawn is odd, makes me nervous."
"Yeah, I'm trying to figure it out, but the code is being stubborn," Xisuma said and motioned for Jevin to follow him. Jevin followed blindly to a small body of water near the end of the jungle, not questioning it - yet another dumb choice.
"Jevin, can you come closer to me? I want to tell you something, and I have a feeling someone's watching us." Xisuma said quietly, standing very close to the water's edge. Dangerously close.
Jevin came closer, and before he knew it, hands were pushing him forward into the water, a burning sensation rippling across his slimy body. Xisuma smiled, and watched, not doing anything to help. Jevin attempted to thrash out of the water, but he couldn't control his movements very well and looked on in panic.
"Jevin, say goodbye," Xisuma said, a smile creeping across his face. "I'm sorry, I was going to save you until later. But I appreciate your rumours about Grian." Jevin couldn't properly think, his mind fuzzy as he felt himself sinking further and further down, his consciousness starting to fade into blackness, all he could see being a distorted image of Xisuma. And Jevin could've sworn he was smiling.
