Harry and Draco spent the rest of their holiday break alternating from their home and the Burrow. Molly especially wanted to spend time with Draco, but the two also spent time playing around with Ginny, Hermione, and Ron. As the others ran around in their animagus forms, playing fetch and wresting, Harry watched. He promised not to transform on their property, and he wanted to uphold his promise. So he'd take this alone time to speak to Molly and Arthur, and have normal conversations.
The break finished, and everyone was saying their goodbyes at the platform. Harry made sure to say goodbye to Narcissa as well as the others. They exchanged a couple words, and then seperated from their hug.
Everyone split up to their designated areas, and Draco and Harry found a spot with Blaise. One thing they noticed from their last travel, was that there was now a person guarding the entrances to each section. No one knew if they were Aurors or students, but they just stood near the entrance, and constantly scanned the room. It made Harry feel a little nervous, but he tried not to spend too much focus on them.
Once they finally got to Hogwarts, they immediately grabbed their things, unpacked a little, and then headed to the dining hall. Harry remembered the epic fight that happened right before they were allowed to leave the castle. What Harry hadn't thought to think of, was that in the time the break ensued, word had slowly spread about the attack. It seems someone had watched a couple of seconds of the duel, and only knew that Professor Vince tried to kill Harry, and Draco, Hermione, Ron, and McGonagall fought to help him. Thankfully no one stayed around long enough to see Harry loose it. The spot where Professor Vince used to sit no longer held him, but another teacher. She had dark skin and white long hair. Harry immedaitely knew she was a metamorphagus, knowing that the type of hair color and hair skin are immposible to happen naturally or by magic. His thought was proven when he saw her eye color change, and freckles suddenly speckle her face.
"May I have all your attention!" McGonagall called over the room, hushing them to silence.
"We have a new addition to our staff. As you all heard, Professor Vince has been fired and arrested, so the position is being filled by Miss Vera. She will be continuing the class. Do not be afraid about the early exams. I have decided to keep the date for early exams. So if you wish to take your exams sooner so you do not have to continue classes, you may still take them. The exams will be two weeks from now, and will take place the whole week. So make sure to study, or you'll be forced to retake them at the end of the year, and you'll get a grade reduction. You also have the option to skip the early exams and wait till the end of the year. Now that we have that cleared up, let the feast begin." She concluded. Food appeared on the tables and everyone dug in.
"Are the rumors true?" Blaise asked Harry as they ate.
Harry nodded reluctantly. "Professor Vince tried to kill me all semester, and he tried to seal the deal at the ball. But that didn't happen, thankfully. Imagine escaping the Dark Lord and then dying at the hands of a Professor. I wouldn't be able to look at anyone in the after life." Harry joked.
"It would be a little embarassing, I have to admit." Draco agreed with Harry.
"So are you going to take the early exams?" Draco asked Blaise. He shook his head.
"I didn't learn enough last year since I was with the other houses in the dungeons. I can't afford failing. And I promised my parents I would get all E's, or they are going to take me out of their will." Blaise explained.
"That sucks man. Well if you need any help, I can lend you some of my books. They helped me a lot." Harry offered to him.
"Thanks. So I'm guessing your taking the early exams?" Blaise guessed. And he was right.
"I need to get out so I can figure out a way to get custody of my godson. So I'll need a job first, and maybe hire a nanny." Harry explain.
"Wow. Haven't even graduated and you have a kid." Blaise joked. "What about you Draco?"
Draco shrugged. "No one wants to hire me. I'm a bit too known, and not in a good way." Draco sighed a little, and continued to eat.
"What if you took on another identity and worked from home?" Harry suggested. He hadn't thought about it before, but there was such thing as freelance Alchemists.
"You could work for the Aurors from home. Take potion orders, make them at home, and then send them out." Blaise suggested. "It's a new system they're starting for those in hiding."
Harry grinned with excitement. "We have plenty of owls. I found an old owlry in the backyard, and there are a couple generations of owls. I'm sure we can train them for you." Harry offered. The more they thought about it, it seemed like a great idea.
"If I do that, I can watch over Teddy. Perfect!" Draco exclaimed. Harry and Draco seemed very excited, but Blaise was confused.
"Are you two living together or something?" Blaise asked them. They didn't answer for a moment, but cracked a smile.
"Maybe."
"You fuck!" Blaise exclaimed. "I had a bet on you and you ruined it!"
Pansy overheard the conversation and held her hand out. Blaise dug into his pocket and handed her two galleons. "Choke on it, bitch." Blaise said gruffly.
The three finished dinner and headed back to the common room. They split up to their rooms and unpacked. Harry didn't unpack everything he had, since he was planning on taking the early exams. He hoped that he would be able to leave Hogwarts soon and start Auror training.
Harry got showered and dressed into pajamas. He immediately climbed into bed and fell asleep, glad that the rooms were still cold from the winter air.
