*Pete's POV*

"Pete! You're going to be late for school!" My dad shouts from downstairs. Normally, that statement would've sent me flying out of my bed, but I'm too stuck with nerves to move.

Today's my birthday. The day I become fully connected to my wolf. The day I'm able to find my m-mate.

Before finding out Can is actually eighteen, I used to be the second oldest in the group. Tin is the oldest, followed by me, Ae, and then Pond. Ae's birthday is in a few weeks, with Pond's in a couple of months.

Even though it's not guaranteed that I'll find my mate today, I'm still really nervous. I've liked Ae for so long, and I'll be really sad if we're not mates.

But there's also... Pond. I never thought of Pond in that way until two months ago, when he took me out for a milkshake. Something about the way he looked at me left me feeling shaken. For the longest time, Ae was the only one I had eyes for. I'm not used to feeling this way about more than one person.

My breath hitches. What if Pond is my mate, and not Ae? Is that why I feel so drawn to him? But... I also feel drawn to Ae. And I can't tell whether these feelings are caused by a mate bond, or teenage infatuation.

"Pete," my dad appears in my doorway, making me sit up with a jolt. He raises an eyebrow when he sees me still in bed. "Just because it's your birthday doesn't mean you can skip school, young man."

"Sorry, dad," I grimace. "I'm just nervous about today."

His expression softens, and he moves forward to sit on the edge of my bed. "Why are you nervous?"

"I'm eighteen today," I whisper. My dad is a human, but he's been immerse in the werewolf world long enough to know the significance of this birthday. "What if I find my mate today, and he's disappointed that I'm an Omega?"

"Hey," dad scolds me. "There's nothing wrong with being an Omega. Type was born an Omega, but that didn't stop him from becoming an Alpha alongside his husband and leading a pack. And look at me! I'm a human, and my husband is the Beta of our pack. What you are doesn't define who you are. And you're pretty damn awesome."

"Thanks, dad," I murmur, my cheeks heating up. "That does make me feel a little better."

"Good!" He claps his hands together. "Now, get up and get in the shower! I made you some special birthday pancakes, so you better hurry up if you want to have time to eat them before school."

Grinning, I hop out of bed and head into the bathroom. Maybe today won't be so bad after all.

After first period, I head back to my locker to exchange textbooks. Some people carry all their books in their backpacks, but I don't really like doing that. It makes my bag too heavy and then my shoulders hurt. As I'm grabbing my science textbook, someone taps on my shoulder. Spinning around, I smile when I see Tin standing behind me.

"Happy birthday," Tin says with a small smile. He's been smiling a lot more over the past two months, ever since his birthday.

"Thanks, Tin. How are you? And Can?"

The smile on his face is quickly replaced with a look of surprise, and my eyes widen when a blush overtakes his cheeks.

"Why are you asking about him?" Tin huffs. "We're fine. I mean, we're not a we. He's fine, and I'm fine. Whatever, don't change the subject. How are you feeling now that you're eighteen?"

"Pretty much the same," I shrug. "I can feel my wolf, but it's not as intense as everyone says it is."

He hums. "I wonder if it's because you're an Omega. At least you're not a hybrid. Trying to balance my wolf side and witch side can be exhausting."

I wince as I try to imagine what that would be like. While I'm pondering it, a strong tug begins pulling at my chest. My eyes are instinctively drawn to the source of the tugging, and my heart begins to race. Ae stands halfway down the hall, staring at me with curious eyes.

Mate.

The rest of the school fades away around me. My legs move on their own accord, carrying me quickly to my mate. Ae's cheeks pinken as my heart pounds wildly in my chest.

"P-Pete," he stammers, taken aback. I usually never approached him like this, always feeling too shy to make a move. But right now, the mate bond is pulling me directly to him, and I can't resist it.

"Mate," I whisper, and his eyes widen.

*Ae's POV*

"Mate," Pete whispers, looking at me with shining eyes.

"What?" I gasp, feeling my cheeks heating up.

He swallows nervously, taking another step towards me. "Y-You're my mate."

Grabbing his hand, I quickly pull him into an empty classroom and close the door. The feeling of his hand in mine causes my skin to tingle, and I don't release him from my grip. Standing alone in the classroom, I brush my thumb over his knuckles in awe, loving the way his soft hand fits with mine.

Pete's my mate. Even though I'm not eighteen yet, I've had feelings for Pete for a while. And knowing he can feel our bond... Without another word, I use my free hand to cup Pete's cheek. He whimpers softly and leans into my touch.

"We're mates?" I whisper nearly inaudibly. Pete nods and I sigh in relief. "Thank Goddess."

My lips softly press against his, earning a quiet gasp from the Omega. It's just a whisper of a kiss, but it ignites colorful bursts of fireworks to erupt where we touch. I groan against his lips, wrapping my arms around his waist and pulling him flush against me.

Our lips move in a delicate dance; both of us moving slowly as to not frighten the other. I still can't believe this is really happening, that Pete is my mate. How did I get so lucky?

Pete shyly winds his arms around my neck, and I take that as my cue to deepen the kiss. My tongue presses against the seam of his lips, which he eagerly parts for me. Our tongues meet, making him moan into my mouth. The sound causes my dick to swell with need as our tongues swirl together.

"Ae," Pete moans my name beautifully as my lips trail down to his neck. When my tongue darts out along his creamy skin, Pete jumps in my arms, accidentally pressing his hips against mine. Lifting my head up, I look at his blushing face with darkening eyes.

"You're hard from a kiss?" I tease him, and Pete's blush turns dark red.

"Don't say stuff like that!" He squeaks, slapping my shoulder.

"Sorry," I chuckle. "You're too cute not to tease."

Right as I'm moving in for another kiss, the classroom door swings open. We jump apart, not wanting to get in trouble for PDA on school grounds. Pond stands in the doorway with an amused smile, crossing his arms over his chest.

"What's going on in here?" He questions with a raised brow. I relax slightly, thankful that it wasn't a teacher who caught us.

"We were just..." I trail off, glancing at Pete. His eyes are wide as he stares at Pond, probably embarrassed that he caught us. "We were just talking."

"Talking," Pond echoes with a scoff. "Sure. So why does Pete look like he's about to pass out?"

Frowning, I look worriedly at Pete. His face has gone completely pale as he continues to gape at Pond.

"Pete?" I question, reaching out to grab his hand. He jumps, looking between me and Pond while slowly shaking his head.

"This isn't possible," Pete mumbles in shock.

"What?"

"You're my mate," Pete points at me before hesitantly looking over at Pond. "But so are you."

"What??" Pond and I shout in unison.

Two mates? How can Pete have two mates??

"Wait, wait, wait," Pond waves his hands. "You're saying Ae is your mate, but you also feel the bond with me?" Pete nods his head. "Do you feel it stronger with one of us? Maybe it's a fluke."

"I-It's the same for both of you," Pete stammers. "I feel the connection to both of you."

"I've never heard of something like this before," I breathe out in disbelief. "How can one wolf have two mates? That doesn't make sense."

"Wait, so if you're connected to both of us..." Pond starts slowly. "Does that mean Ae and I will be mates too?"

My eyes snap over to him as both of our jaws drop. This just got really, really weird.
