PS - So sorry that I haven't updated for a month! Keeping up with schedule is causing me a ton of stress and I decided to scrap the schedule, especially since I have my internship and all that. So, I'm pretty busy and thus, I wouldn't be able to update regularly due to this fact. I hope you all understand. Anyways, enjoy.

The creature gives them a demonic glare with it's one eye while Byleth takes out her gun and tells Dimitri, "Hide!"

"Wha-I'm not gonna leave and-"

"My mission is to keep you alive!" Byleth told him, "Don't worry, I'm not planning on dying either, so go, you idiot!"

Dimitri, not wanting to cause Byleth more stress than she already is, rushes to hide behind one of the corpses. The white haired monster was about to shoot a dark ball at Dimitri until the mercenary shoots it's arm, catching it's attention.

"Oi! Eyes on me, ugly!" Byleth called out, as Dimitri sighs in annoyance.

The creature shrieks loudly as it turns around and throws another dark ball at her, which she rolls over and starts shooting her. Unlike the other monster, it ends up rushing towards her in a fast-walk manner, which Byleth quickly starts shooting at the monster's legs, but it doesn't budge.

"What the-"

The monster tackles down the mercenary on the ground, which the prince gasps as he grabs an frozen body from the hook and throws it right at the monster. The monster is ready to blast Byleth's face... until the monster gets hit by a frozen body, which gets shattered all over it and the monster collapses.

"Is it dead...?" Dimitri asked, "Did I get it?"

"Yep!" Byleth replied, as she took a deep breath of relief with Dimitri doing the same shortly after.

Dimitri runs out of his hiding spot and runs up to Byleth's side as he lends his hand to her, which she accepts and he helps her get up.

"You okay, Byleth?" Dimitri asked her.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Byleth replied, sighing in relief before asking, "What the hell was that thing?"

"Yeah... let's take a look at that thing." Dimitri responded.

The duo looks at the monster, who isn't moving at all. Dimitri comments, "That is... it's not moving..."

"It's definitely dead," Byleth snarked. "That's for sure."

Dimitri rolls his eyes over and walks towards the corpse, which his eyes widen in shock and mumbled, "Oh no..."

"What is it?" Byleth asked.

"... I... I think I know who this is..." Dimitri mumbled.

"Really?" Byleth asked, confused as Dimitri nods.

"Yes..." Dimitri replies, thinking for a moment before fully remembering who she is, "I believe her name was Lysithea."

"Wait, Lysithea?" Byleth asks, remembering something before saying, "Wasn't she reported missing as well?"

"I believe so." Dimitri added.

"Isn't she the prodigy from the Leicester Alliance?" Byleth asked.

"Yes. That is indeed." Dimitri answered.

"Shit..." Byleth muttered.

"... I... I can't believe I killed someone..." Dimitri mumbled as his face turned pale and gritted his teeth, "Ugh..."

"You okay? You said something?" Byleth asked them.

"No... I'm fine. Don't worry." Dimitri said.

"Alright then..." Byleth said and decided to inspect the body.

"Wha-what are you doing?" Dimitri asked her.

"I'm inspecting the body," Byleth told him, "Who knows? Maybe we could find some hints."

"Grr..." Dimitri growled as he clenched his teeth, confusing Byleth.

"You okay?" Byleth asked him.

"Yeah... I'm fine..." Dimitri replied coldly.

"... Right..." Byleth answered.

Byleth looks through the greenish red blood, her white hair's texture is very oily and rough to the point it doesn't feel like hair, her skin is freezing beyond normal even she notices frostbites on her cheeks and such. She gulps a bit out of disgust and sympathy for the poor girl, but unfortunately, what's done is done.

Byleth takes a deep breath and stands up as she turns to Dimitri, and says, "We should leave this room before this room freezes me." out of concern for her own safety.

"... Indeed..." Dimitri agreed, "I'm sure I can survive, but you can't. No offence."

"None taken." Byleth replied, "Let's get out of here."

Dimitri nods as Byleth walks past him as they look for the exit. The prince takes a deep breath and thinks, "Something... is happening to me, but I don't know why..."

"You coming, your highness?" Byleth asked him.

"Oh! Right. Apologises." Dimitri apologised to her as the two walk up to the exit.

Byleth shivers a bit due to the coldness as Dimitri managed to break down the steel door by kicking it down.

Byleth walks out of the cold room fast and breathing onto her hands for warmth while Dimitri takes a deep breath of relief. The duo look back at the room as he asks, "... I... do we leave her there?"

"... Once this is over... I'll call the investigations and explain to them what happened." Byleth said in a calculated manner.

"... So... we are...?" Dimitri asked uncomfortably.

"... Unfortunately, we don't have a choice..." Byleth sighed.

"... Damn it... DAMN IT ALL!" Dimitri blurted out, which caught Byleth off guard despite keeping an expressionless face, "... Sorry... I... I don't know what came over me..."

"... It's fine. Let's just keep going..." Byleth said and asks, "Okay?"

".... Yeah... good idea..." Dimitri agreed, ("What's... What's happening with me?!")

A/N - I hope you all enjoy... because... well... I have some bad news. Because of my schedule with work and all that. I have to pause this fanfic for a good while. I didn't want to do this, but I don't really have a choice with running out of "fillings" aka scenes to add to the "cake" aka story and my work as an intern... I have to pause it.

It's not cancelled! No! I will continue working on it in my spare time, but right now, it's paused and will be resume when one of my three other fanfics are finished or discontinued for whatever reason. I hope you guys understand and I'm sorry for the inconvenience. Aqua out!
