Chapter 3 - Delusions
A/N - I don't own Fire Emblem Three houses, and Resident Evil. Enjoy.
Byleth and Dimitri walks through the hallway, where it's suspiciously quiet, much to Dimitri's discomfort, however...
"Now tell me what happened here?" Byleth asked him; straight to the point.
"H-Huh?" Dimitri stuttered.
"Let me repeat myself..." Byleth said, and repeats, "What... HAPPENED?"
"W-Well... El and I were just doing our practice rounds with guns," Dimitri explained to her, "However... while we were just practicing, everything turns... black... that is all I could remember. I never saw our kidnappers' faces,"
"You said it in plural," Byleth pointed out, "How many kidnappers were there?"
"... Honestly, I heard a few different voices..." Dimitri told her, "But that is all I know, unfortunately..."
"... I see..." Byleth mumbled. "Very well, there is nothing that could be done. However I must know this, what happened to your eye and hair?"
"... I... I don't know..." Dimitri answered her, "I do know one thing; they did something to my body and I'm gonna make them pay..."
"... Well, you can save your revenge for later," Byleth told him, "Right now. We need to focus on rescuing Edelgard and get the hell out of here."
"Of course, you're right, Miss Eisner," Dimitri understood.
While they were walking, they hear some moaning, which Byleth grits her teeth. Luckily, there's a door, so she grabs Dimitri's wrist, who is taken by surprise, and throw him into the different room. She goes inside the room too and closes the door.
"There... hopefully, the zombies doesn't find us..." Byleth mumbled.
Dimitri didn't ask her any questions. Instead, he just look around the room, where it looks like a ruined office with broken walls, a few spider webs and such. The Prince notices some papers and looks through it, which his face turns pale and whispers, "Miss Eisner... Mis Eisner!"
"What is it?" Byleth asked him while listening through the door by putting her head close to it.
"Here," Dimitri answered as he gives her the papers.
She starts reading the papers where, while her face remains blank, her guts feeling a bit wheezy and her face turns a bit pale when reading the files.

We have finally made progress with the ———. The victims will develop white hair, shorten lifespan and an red eye, but the positives out weight the negatives as it gives off super strength, heighten senses and more possible benefits.
However, we have discovered ————————. We will release onto the world and finally, kill off the governess —— for daring to kick us down.
"Most of the writing is blurred out," Byleth thought.
"We need to stop them!" Dimitri told her.
"What?" Byleth asked him.
"I-I... they're clearly something and whatever it is, it has to do with those zombies." Dimitri told her.
"Well, it would be bad for business if everyone turned to zombies," Byleth admitted.
"... What..." Dimitri glared at her, "How could you say that!"
"Oh no..."
"Is money seriously your biggest concern right now?!" Dimitri called out on her.
"... Look, your highness," Byleth mumbled, and than points out, "I am a mercenary. Money is my thing. I do not care for heroism. I only care about getting my mission done, and my mission right now, is to protect you and find Edelgard. Understood?"
"I understand, but... can we not think about money and think for the people?!" Dimitri told her off, "I mean. Those people are clearly planning on doing something horrible, and if all of this is their project than... we... have to do something!"
"Well, we do need to find a cure for you and destroy whatever that project is," Byleth discussed, "The problem is that what is that project and where we could find that cure!"
"Mmm... Yeah... that is..."
Suddenly, something bashes through the door and scratches Byleth's shoulder, but the mercenary quickly takes out her gun and shoots it's hand, causing a very loud moaning.
Dimitri quickly grabs the desk and throws it right at the door, crushing the monsters in pieces. Byleth's eyes are widen in genuine shock, but shakes it off as if it's nothing and tells him, "Let's keep moving..."
"Ahem... I... I guess so," Dimitri replied, "You don't phase much when I did that..."
"Well, since the papers did say the whole red eye, white hair and super strength thing," Byleth noted, "It's clear you got infected whatever that project is. Very likely a virus they created."
"I mean, that's the most logical conclusion, if you ask me," Dimitri agreed with her. "Though... I... we should get going."
"Yeah. We don't have time to-"
"G-GAH!" Dimitri cried out in pain as his red eye starts to glow and he collapses to the floor.
"Dimitri!" Byleth cried out as she kneel down in front of him and notices red, glowing coming out, "... What...?"
Dimitri starts to breath heavily while Byleth is slowly grasps his hand away from his eye gently, where she sees his white sclera turning pitch black. The veins stop glowing, but they were slowly creeping out of his eye and into his skin.
"B-Byleth..." Dimitri whimpered while in quiet agony.
"It's already getting worse," Byleth told him bluntly as she gets up and readies her gun. "We need to find a cure for it as fast as possible,"
"... Right," Dimitri agreed with her as he gets up and follows Byleth from behind. "What... What's happening to me!? Am I gonna be okay?! What happens if the virus take over me...? I... I don't want to die..."
"You deserve death!"
"You're gonna suffer the same way we did!"
"Die! Die! Die!"
"Shut up..." Dimitri thought as he grips onto his hair, "Stop it... just stop it!"
In truth, he has those horrible voices in his head ever since the death of his parents. Deep down, he blamed himself for not saving his parents, and now his step sister is nowhere to be found. He doesn't know what to do in this situation... and those voices doesn't help.
"Shut up..." Dimitri mumbled, which catches Byleth's attention as she raises her eyebrow at him.
"Go to hell!"
"We want you dead!"
"You're less important than your parents after all!"
"Your life have no meaning!"
"... SHUT UP!" Dimitri screamed out, catching Byleth by surprise and echoes through the hallway, which they hear a howling scream that is a mixture of creature and a girl, along with heavy footsteps.
"Oh you gotta be kidding me!" Byleth thought as she readies her gun and points it at the source of that terrifying scream.
