Chapter One- Arrival

*My POV*

It was a long day of traveling. I had come to Europe, looking for a new home. Back in my hometown in Virginia from the U.S., I had lost my family when I was only a little boy. A pack of werewolves attacked our town and my family was killed by the leader: a large white werewolf known as Illusion. Illusion was bigger, faster and a lot stronger than his minions. Despite the slaughter, I managed to avoid detection and escape. Eventually, I made my way to China where I was taken in by the Shaolin monks of the Wu Shi academy. At the academy, I was trained by my adoptive brothers: Kung Lao and Liu Kang. They taught me the ways of the Shaolin. However, I unknowingly had Pyrokinetic powers, but Liu Kang helped me learn to control them. Everything seemed normal, but then Illusion and his minions had shown their ugly faces again. It turns out that they somehow managed to track me down when I fled from Virginia and followed me. After an intense battle, Liu Kang and I managed to kill the werewolves, but that victory came at a price. The Shaolin were all dead, including Kung Lao. But on the other hand, I was mortally wounded by Illusion while I was fighting him. Liu Kang transferred his godhood and powers to me in an effort to save my life. The plan was successful, but this came at the cost of his own life. As my brother succumbed to his injuries, he sent me to Europe where I shall live with the Dimitrescu family. There was a prophecy that said Mother Miranda would kill Lady Dimitrescu and the other Lords after some kind of ceremony. As Liu Kang died, I promised that I wouldn't let him down. And from the depths of my own pure heart, I swore to protect the Dimitrescu family fiercely. I had lost a good family twice already, and I refuse to let it happen again. As I came to the village, I heard a strange noise. All of a sudden, I found myself surrounded by some rather strange creatures. They looked human, but they had fur and fangs like wolves.

I got into a fighting stance and prepared for battle.

However, I was completely unaware that I was being watched.

*Daniela's POV*

It is so cold. I hate the cold. My sisters and I are weak against the cold temperatures in winter. I had come out here to hunt, and I was just heading home after catching a good sized deer. A little later, I heard the sound of growling Lycans in the village. But there was another strange noise in the mix. It sounded like someone was fighting the dreadful beasts. Out of curiosity, I followed the sound of the Lycans growling and what I found in the village caught me completely by surprise. The Lycans had surrounded a man-thing. He was wearing a black robe with gold stitching, and what appeared to be loafers. I also noticed some kind of amulet around his neck.

Through his robes, I could see his well-built muscles. His short hair was sand-blonde, and his eyes were a handsome blue color. The Lycans had him surrounded, but he wasn't afraid. In fact, by judging the chaos occurring at this moment, I would say that he's fighting back. The human was hitting the Lycans with a variety of attacks, and there was not a scratch on him. He was letting out high-pitched battle cries as he attacked the Lycans that surrounded him. The leader of the pack tried to pounce on the man-thing from behind. But the human anticipated this and dodged the Lycan's attack with a backflip. The next thing I knew, he thrusted his right arm forward and shot a fireball from the palm of his hand. The projectile landed a direct hit and the Lycan burst into flames. However, these flames were unlike anything I have ever seen. Instead of a mix of yellow and orange, these flames were violet.

The leader of the Lycans thrashed around as it burned alive and died in a few seconds. The man-thing pulled out a strange weapon. It looked like a pair of metal rods that were attached to a chain. Each of the rods had a strange design carved into them.

The Lycans advanced on the human, but he started hitting them with his weapon and seemed to embue them with fire somehow. The Lycans tried to attack, but he was unbelievably fast. Within minutes, the Lycans were lying dead all around the human. I dragged my deer along as I walked towards the man-thing. He was tired. The Lycans must've been tougher than he thought and I believe it's possible that he's never fought Lycans before. He turned around with a jolt and got into a fighting stance.

"Take it easy. I am not here to fight." I said calmly.

He started to ease up, but I could still sense that something was wrong. From within his heart, I could sense that he has suffered a great deal of trauma in the past and thereby does not trust anyone.

"Who are you?" The human asked

"I am Daniela Dimitrescu." I answered.

All of a sudden, his aspect changed in an instant. He looked as though he knew who I was.

"Daniela? Forgive my disrespect, m'lady." He said, bowing with his left hand resting on his right fist.

"You know who I am?" I asked in surprise.

"Yes. I was sent here to live with you and your family. To protect you. But that story can come later. For now, we must go to your mother's castle. And while I understand the mistrust that I will receive from her and your sisters, I come in peace, and I mean you no harm." The man-thing said.

"Then let us go to Castle Dimitrescu. My mother and sisters would love to meet you." I replied.

I had a strange feeling within my heart, but I can't worry about that now. I was going to have to explain this to my mother and I had a sneaking suspicion that it wasn't gonna be pretty. For I knew that mother would be angry if I brought the man-thing home, but I couldn't just leave him here. There are plenty more Lycans out there that would gladly kill the human for pleasure, much like the other Lords would if they found him. So against my better judgement, I walked home with him while bringing along the deer that I caught earlier. I just hope mother will be merciful. She is known to kill anyone who trespasses on our property.
