CHAPTER 7
THIRD PERSON POV
"2017"
Taehyung's eyes widened. This was not possible, there was no way he had travelled 3 years back but every element seemed to confirm that he had. He just refused to believe it.
"A-are you sure Jimin? You're not jo-joking, are you?" He asked, though he knew the boy wasn't.
Jimin shook his head. "What's wrong with you today? You were totally fine yesterday. Why do you even look so surprised about the date?"
Utterly distressed, Taehyung got up from the bed and started pacing back and forth in the room, completely ignoring Jimin's questions. "This- this can't be happening, it's impossible!" He murmured over and over again, his hands eventually finding their way to his hair to tug at it in frustration.
Jimin turned to friend, confused at his odd behaviour. "What can't be happening? What's impossible?" He demanded only to be ignored yet again while the other just kept chanting those words.
The older of the two ran a hand through his hair and let out an exasperated sigh at the lack of response. He stopped his friend from walking any further by placing a hand on his shoulder and turning him around, holding him steadily by the shoulders. "What are you talking about?"
Taehyung's eyes were still wide open, looking scared and panicked. He looked like he was about to lose his mind if he hadn't already. He shook his head vigorously, again muttering some words of disbelief to himself. "I can't be here. I shouldn't be here. How do I go back?"
Jimin shook his shoulders, bringing him out of his thoughts. "Tae, look at me, calm down and take in a deep breath," he instructed as he watched the boy slowly start to relax yet still looking slightly alarmed.
He brought Taehyung to his bed again, making him sit down with him and stared right into his eyes, trying to decipher what was wrong with the younger. "Listen, Tae," he started in a calm voice, "I don't know what got you worked up or what you've been muttering about but please talk to me. Tell me everything so that I can help you."
He finished with a reassuring smile. It gave Taehyung this feeling of tranquility as he stared back at Jimin, his big eyes returning back to normal. "I-I don't know... I don't understand, it just feels surreal and- and how can I explain when I, myself, have no idea about what's going on?" He said desperately.
Jimin patted his back, telling him that it was okay and that he should take his time to gather his thoughts. "Start from the beginning. Tell me why you feel so panicked suddenly, why you screamed this morning, what happened when you woke up."
Taehyung thought about it and sighed. "Will you really believe me if I tell you?" He asked. Whatever he was about to say was so incredible that even he would not have believed it if someone told him something like that.
"Of course I will! Why wouldn't I? You know you can tell me anything, right? I'm here for you," Jimin comforted him, now rubbing soothing patterns on his back.
"Because even I don't believe myself right now," he mumbled but decided to tell the boy regardless.
"Okay, listen," Taehyung began, turning his body so he would be facing the other properly. He then took both of Jimin's hands in his as the latter waited for him to start speaking up. "So, I woke up this morning and the sun was hitting my face."
'That's pretty normal, you've been complaining about that for weeks now!' Jimin thought but let the boy continue nevertheless.
"I looked around the room and it looked different. I mean, I hadn't gone to sleep here and these were not what I was wearing when I fell asleep last night," Taehyung went on, gesturing to his pyjamas.
'Well yeah, 'cause you fell asleep in the car on the way back from practice and Jungkook had to carry you to your room and change your clothes because you wouldn't wake up,' Jimin thought again but still kept quiet.
"I then realised we were in this dorm and not in the one in Hannam-dong."
'But we don't have an apartment in Hannam-dong... my best friend has officially gone nuts!'
"Then I opened my wardrobe and looked- no no wait- when I first woke up, I ran a hand through my hair and realised it was shorter than it used to be. I thought you guys pranked me and cut my hair while I was sleeping. Then I saw there were pictures missing on my wall and then I went to my wardrobe and saw I still had this huge collection of ties and then I saw my hair was short and silver and that's what made me scream in panic," Taehyung narrated all that had happened before he had gotten out of his room in one breath.
He breathed heavily while Jimin tried processing what was wrong about all that he had said. Everything seemed perfectly normal to him, so why was Taehyung panicking this much?
"Okay but wha-" he decided to ask but instead got interrupted by the other who told him to listen first then draw conclusions.
"The thing is, that's not how things were yesterday, at least for me. I was in the apartment in Hannam-dong, going to sleep in the bed that I had moved so that I don't get the sunlight in my face every morning, I had given away most of my collection of ties and I most definitely didn't have this silver hair," he explained, touching his hair at the end.
Jimin's eyes narrowed and his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. What was he even talking about? This didn't make sense at all. Everything was just as he had described before, not like what he was telling now. But he still decided to keep listening, in hopes to get a bit more enlightened.
Taehyung took in a deep breath, formulating the sentence properly in his mind before blurting it out. "This may sound unbelievable but... I think I travelled back in time somehow," he finally confessed.
The blonde blinked twice and opened his mouth to say something but the only thing that came out was, "what...?"
Taehyung sighed. Anyone would be baffled from this type of statement. "I think I travelled back in time," he repeated calmly.
Jimin burst out laughing. "Yeah and from which year did you come? From 2113 where we're all grandpas with bald heads and big white beards?!" He questioned jokingly before laughing even louder.
"Jimin, we would all be dead by 2113," Taehyung facepalmed. "But I am serious. Yesterday I was in 2020, and today I suddenly wake up and find myself in 2017. I got really confused at first but it's the only explanation I have!"
Jimin calmed down from his giggles after hearing the silver-haired boy in front of him. "Yeah right, and I was Romeo in the 1968 adaptation of Romeo & Juliet," he dead-panned.
Taehyung was getting irritated at his friend's behaviour. He just told him that he could tell him anything and he would believe him but now he was just taking the situation as a joke!
"Jimin I'm not kidding, I really seem to have travelled back in time and I just wanna get back to 2020. I don't want to live 3 whole years all over again!" Taehyung said, completely serious.
But Jimin was a whole other story. He started laughing again and said, "it's a good one, Tae! Really, the best prank you've come up with so far! Even your acting was on point. But I won't believe you this time, I get fooled way too easily and I won't let it happen again."
"But I'm not fooling you!" Taehyung protested.
"Yeah sure, keep it for the others," Jimin chuckled while shaking his head in amusement as he got up and walked towards the door.
Taehyung felt completely frustrated. He rested his elbows on his knees and lowered his head to grab his hair and pull it exasperatedly. "Arghh!" Why was his best friend not believing him?! Out of all people, Jimin should believe him instead of mocking him!
But thinking about it, he couldn't really blame Jimin, could he? To begin with, this whole thing was far from credible. Anyone would doubt it. And secondly, Taehyung has a habit of always pulling all sorts of crazy pranks on everyone. It was only natural for Jimin to think he was fooling him. Nevertheless, Taehyung couldn't help feeling annoyed at his reaction.
"Jimin, wait!" Taehyung exclaimed, stopping his blonde friend in his tracks, just as he was about to exit the room.
He turned around, raising an eyebrow at the younger. "Yes?"
The aforementioned looked up, staring right into Jimin's eyes as if boring holes into his soul. The older would be lying if he said he didn't feel intimidated at that moment. "What do I have to do to prove that I really am from the future?" Taehyung demanded, his expression sombre, indicating how serious he was about the matter.
Jimin gulped imperceptibly due to the intensity of his friend's stare. He had rarely seen Taehyung so serious. The boy mostly had a bubbly and outgoing personality. So, for a moment there, Jimin began to wonder whether the silver-haired boy was actually telling the truth. But something like this is not possible, is it? These things only happen in fictional movies or books! There's no way it's actually real!
The boy quickly put on a more confident expression, trying to conceal how subdued he had just felt under the intense gaze. He cocked his head to the side and said, "then tell me something that's gonna happen soon."
"Like what?" Taehyung tilted his head, his expression slightly softening.
"I don't know, anything," the blonde paused a moment to ponder over it. "We just had our comeback. Tell me anything about our album sales, number of wins on music shows, whether we'll win any awards at the end of year award shows. Something of the sort," he shrugged finally.
"Let me think... you'll have to wait way too long to get your confirmation about music and award shows," Taehyung mused. "It's 2017, you say?"
"Yeah, take your time," chuckled the shorter boy.
"Ah!" Taehyung shot up in triumph. He smirked at the thought, this would prove that he's not lying in a matter of days. "In a few days, we're going to receive an invitation to perform at the AMAs on the 19th of November," he predicted, crossing his arms, a very confident and somewhat arrogant expression adorning his face.
Jimin's eyes widened as big as Taehyung's had earlier. "W-what? AMAs as in American Music Awards?" He asked, clearly taken aback.
"Mhm," Taehyung nodded, the smirk never leaving his lips.
"So you mean to tell me we'll fly to the States to perform at an award show which means our performance will be broadcasted in local channels in America?" Jimin said, shocked at first but eventually raising a brow while a smirk also crept up his lips. "Careful, Tae, that's a bold prediction there. You might be disappointed if it doesn't come true."
"Oh I won't be," retaliated Taehyung, "because I know it's gonna happen."
"Well, we shall see," Jimin said, turning to grab the door handle, ready to leave the room.
"Yeah, you'll see," Taehyung said back and Jimin didn't have to look at him to know that this annoyingly confident smirk of his was still plastered on his face.

Am I the only one who thought the 2nd Bangbangcon would also be free?🤡 I'm hoping someone would stream it or smth coz my parents would never let me buy it😔
Speaking of buying, I had the chance to watch up to episode 3 of Break The Silence thanks to a kind soul who uploaded the full thing on dailymotion! It's always great to listen to them talking about their true feelings and watch what happens behind the scenes of the concerts and also to witness the boys' friendship (we got to witness the birth of Promise T_T and also Tae's unreleased songs)
But it gets really heartbreaking when they show how the boys give it their all on stage and then collapse after the concert, especially Jungkook. I wish they would take it easier sometimes because they're already doing such great jobs! Literally no one can compare!
On that note, I hope you all also take things easier on yourselves, get enough rest and take care of yourselves. I purple you! See you next time!
