CHAPTER 29
THIRD PERSON POV
"Where's Jungkook?" asked the stylist to Namjoon who had just been done with his scene with Seokjin. The latter was currently filming another scene alone.
"Sleeping in the van, I think," replied the fatigued boy.
"Please get him for me, he has to get ready to shoot a scene with Yoongi right after Seokjin's," said the woman. Seokjin's scene wouldn't take long since it just consisted of him sitting on a bed, then holding petals of a flower and laying them on the ground before pushing open the curtains.
Namjoon yawned and nodded. Just as he was about to go get Jungkook, he saw Jimin going in the same direction as him. "Jimin-ah!" He called out. The younger boy stopped and turned around.
"Are you going to the van?" queried the leader.
Jimin nodded. "Couldn't sleep inside, it's noisy."
"Can you ask Jungkook to come inside please? They need him for another scene," said Namjoon. Jimin once again nodded and headed to the van.
The sight he was met with melted his heart. Taehyung was cuddled into Jungkook's chest with the latter's arms tightly wrapped around him. Jimin cooed and took out his phone to snap some pictures. They just looked so adorable!!
He didn't want to wake them up but knew he had to. He gently poked Jungkook's arm and saw how he almost immediately tightened his arms around Taehyung. It made Jimin's lips curl into a small smile.
"Kook," he whispered, trying not to wake up Taehyung. "You have to get up, they're looking for you to shoot."
Jungkook moved in his seat a little and finally opened his eyes after Jimin lightly shook him. The younger's eyes instantly darted to Taehyung's sleeping figure.
A fond smile, which didn't go unnoticed by Jimin, crept onto his lips. He carefully sat up with Taehyung still in his arms and reluctantly placed the boy back on the seat, being gentle so as not to disturb his peaceful slumber.
Taehyung whined and clung onto the younger as the latter tried getting up. Chuckling a little, Jungkook left a small kiss on his forehead and felt Taehyung loosening his grip on his shirt. He finally got up and headed to the set.
The whole time, Jimin was watching them with a huge grin on his face. They were so cute and looked totally like a couple! You would literally think they're dating!
Jungkook shot a scene with Yoongi where he was supposed to be pulling him off the bed while the room was on fire. It took them a while to get the perfect shot, since Jungkook was quite the perfectionist and Yoongi didn't find it in him to refuse the younger when he asked for a retry. Well, it's not like Yoongi had much to do anyway. Just lie there and get pulled.
The director decided to take a break and give everyone some time to rest, saying they would begin shooting again in the morning. Jungkook happily went back to the van where he found Taehyung in the same seat as before and Jimin on the couch-like seat at the back.
He gently lifted Taehyung without waking him up and cuddled with him, falling asleep as soon as he settled in the seat. Early the next morning, Taehyung's phone started buzzing, waking up both he and Jungkook. They groaned and Taehyung picked up the call.
It was the manager telling him to come for his shoot. He sighed and begrudgingly got up. He was so much better in Jungkook's arms.
However, Jungkook decided to follow him and watch him shoot. Taehyung's scene also involved Hoseok. It was a bit of a re-enactment of the scene he had previously shot during 'The Most Beautiful Moment In Life' era.
He mostly had to make accurate facial expressions. His acting skills helped him a lot and he was able to complete it quite quickly. "Wow, hyung, you were amazing!" gushed Jungkook the moment Taehyung got off the set.
"Don't exaggerate," laughed Taehyung, blushing a little at being praised.
"But I'm not! Your acting really is just fabulous!" affirmed Jungkook.
Before any of the two could say anything else, they were ushered into the makeshift dressing rooms to get ready for the next group shot. They saw all the members gathered in there, getting ready.
Everyone had changed into hoodies and such except for Jimin who still wore the hospital clothing. It was for the scene where Hoseok helps Jimin escape from that hospital and they get into a cafeteria where the other boys have thrown a party for him. They paused for breakfast midway and kept shooting until 11. Afterwards, they moved to the second location, the one Jungkook and Taehyung had supposedly visited.
They filmed for a few hours before having a delayed lunch and then continued filming till dusk. Despite the sun which shone all day, it was still cold. Taehyung complained about it and Jungkook started clinging onto him to keep him warm and kept doing so during the whole shoot.
They shot several scenes during the afternoon. There was the one where Taehyung lays on a mattress and the boys come to pick him up, the one where Yoongi and Jungkook sit together, the one where Jungkook runs after Jimin who is riding a bicycle and others where Seokjin is filming all the boys. All of them were fun to shoot but also very tiring.
It was, in fact, more exhausting for Jungkook who had a lot of solo scenes as well. When they were finally done, they shot a small clip to thank ARMYs, tell them more about the upcoming album and to tell them to listen to the song and appreciate it a lot. The boys then proceeded to tease Jungkook who still had a few more scenes to shoot while the rest were all done.
"We're going home, Jungkookie," waved Hoseok and Jimin with big smiles. Jungkook pouted as they all entered the van, leaving him behind.
He sighed and went back to filming, wanting to finish as fast as possible. It took a while but he was soon done too. He was about to head to the van that awaited him when someone lightly tapped his arm. He looked back to see his manager who was pointing to one of the sofas on the set.
Jungkook saw Taehyung lying there, deep asleep with his mouth agape and his body falling on one side of the sofa. A soft smile spread on Jungkook's face at the sight.
Not wanting to wake the older up, Jungkook put an arm on his back and another one under his knees to lift him up bridal style before bringing him to the vehicle. He sat the older boy on his lap before wrapping his arms securely around him to make sure he wouldn't feel uncomfortable when the van would start moving.
He carded his fingers through the sleeping boy's hair, unconsciously smiling before he, too, eventually dozed off, exhausted after the long shooting that extended over the past 2 days.
Halfway through the journey back to Seoul, Taehyung stirred awake. He started blushing upon noticing the position he was in, though he made no effort to move. He carefully turned his head to see Jungkook sleeping.
It was not long before Jungkook also woke up, the car horns from the busier part of the city disturbing his sleep. He saw that Taehyung was still in his lap. "Are we nearly there?" he asked groggily.
"Yeah, half an hour or so," replied Taehyung. Jungkook let out a small hum, apparently a little shaken from being woken up with loud noises so suddenly.
Taehyung tried getting on the seat next to Jungkook, realising it would be weird for him to still be on his lap when both were conscious and also a little concerned that Jungkook's legs might hurt later on, but the younger held him tightly in place.
"Your legs are gonna feel numb and sore afterwards," warned Taehyung.
"I'll be fine, hyung, you're light anyway," answered Jungkook with a grin as he gently tightened his arms around Taehyung's waist.
The older leaned back against Jungkook's chest, feeling oddly comfortable in that particular position despite the van's rather rough driving due to the road bumps.
"Hyung?" Jungkook called softly after a while of peaceful silence.
"Hmm?"
"What did you want to tell me yesterday?" queried the younger, curiosity lacing his voice.
"When?" asked Taehyung, a little confused, as he tilted his head slightly to the side.
"At the rooftop before Namjoon hyung called," reminded Jungkook, his chin resting on Taehyung's shoulder.
The older boy's eyes widened in realisation as he recalled how he had wanted to confess about his true feelings to Jungkook. How was he supposed to tell that to Jungkook right now? He froze, thinking of what else he could come up with except for the truth.
He would have to tell him, anyway, he's already made up his mind. So might as well get it over with.
However, the setting wasn't exactly the proper one. Their driver was in the van with them, unpleasant noises from the traffic were blaring around them and Taehyung didn't even know how to begin. So he decided to delay it for a little more.
"I just wanted to ask whether you'd like to go out with me tomorrow since we have the day off. I wanted to bring you somewhere," revealed Taehyung.
"Of course, I would love to!" Jungkook exclaimed enthusiastically. But then he paused and tilted his head to the side in thought. "But where?"
Good question... I have no idea.
"Umm... it's a surprise, you'll have to wait till tomorrow," answered Taehyung. Well, wherever we're going is a surprise to me too actually.
Jungkook huffed and pouted, falling back on his seat. He loved surprises but was also very impatient.
Minutes later, they reached their dorm and Taehyung immediately bolted to Jimin's room. "I need to talk to you!" he exclaimed urgently after bursting through the door.
"Woah calm down, you're gonna end up waking up Hoseok hyung," scolded Jimin, gesturing to the sleeping boy on the other bed.
Taehyung murmured a sheepish "sorry" before dragging his best friend to his own room.
"Okay, what's wrong? Did something happen when you were waiting for Jungkook at the set?" inquired Jimin after stepping inside and closing the door behind him.
"Well, nothing wrong happened at the set. I fell asleep and Jungkook brought me in the van and I was in his lap the whole ride, so that was pretty good but," Taehyung paused to take a deep breath.
"But?"
"I told Jungkook I want to bring him somewhere tomorrow but I have no idea where and I'm planning to tell him everything though I don't know what to actually say and I'm panicking," Taehyung told in a single breath, maybe a little too fast than he should have since Jimin was giving him a confused look by the end of it.
"Come again," said Jimin with his eyebrows furrowed as he had not understood anything that Taehyung was trying to say.
"I said, I told Jungkook I want to bring him somewhere tomorrow but I have no idea where and I'm planning to tell him everything though I don't know what to actually say and I'm panicking," the younger of the duo repeated, this time calmer and enunciating each word properly.
Jimin stared at him wide-eyed. "Are you really going to?" He asked, feeling like he had heard it wrong.
Taehyung nodded faintly. Jimin's eyes widened even more if possible before he narrowed them again. "Ok, listen, I'm happy about your decision since you really need to get it off your shoulders and all... but are you sure about this? I mean, you can take time if you need it. I know it's probably not easy and you shouldn't do something if you feel forced to or if you're not comfortable with it," he said in all seriousness.
Taehyung gave him a gentle smile. He felt so lucky and grateful for having Jimin as his best friend. Even though the two often bickered or teased each other, they were always there for the other and Taehyung wouldn't have it any other way. "I'm sure about this, Jiminie, don't worry," he assured.
He stepped forward to take Jimin in a hug, the latter a little taken aback but nevertheless hugging back. "And thank you, I don't know what I would have done without you. I'm so thankful to have you in my life, Chim," he said sincerely.
"Me too, Tae, me too," Jimin whispered back to him as the two still remained in the warm embrace.
Before it got too emotional, Jimin pulled away with his nose scrunched. "You stink, you should go take a shower," he said teasingly.
"Yah!!" exclaimed Taehyung, clearly offended as he hit Jimin's arm while the older merely laughed his heart out.
Taehyung rolled his eyes. "Go away, I don't need you and forget everything I just said," he huffed. Jimin cooed at how his arms crossed and his lips formed an angry pout.
He ruffled Taehyung's hair before saying, "yeah, you certainly don't need me right now. It would be better for you to reflect on what you want to tell him yourself. Because after all, it's about your feelings, not mine or anyone else's."
Jimin sounded really mature and wise as he spoke, his words hitting Taehyung harder than they should have. This was indeed his part to do, he couldn't keep depending on Jimin for everything. Taehyung often wondered how Jimin could be so mature at times despite being a complete goofball at heart, but that was the beauty of his best friend. He always knew how to give the best advices.
Taehyung let his arms fall by his sides as he returned Jimin's soft smile. He nodded slightly before whispering another thank you. Jimin grinned and replied him with "anytime" before heading towards the door.
He halted, his hand resting on the doorknob and his body turning to face Taehyung again. "By the way, go shower, you really stink," he teased again, receiving a flying pillow from Taehyung.
Jimin laughed as he quickly opened the door and stepped out, the pillow missing him by a few. The last bit of his laughter echoed around the room while Taehyung simply shook his head with a smile still etched on his face.
He really was thankful for having Jimin as his best friend.
