Moon Cross
Moon Cross... Why would they want to meet here? I messed with the watch as I approach the pond. It was the biggest body of water in the city. I glanced around seeing quite a few people gathered around. The moon Cross on Star point pond was a big event. Many people come to see it.
There was still about 30 minutes before Moon Cross started. The moon was slowly moving towards the sun. I look at my watch as it dings once again.
30 minutes
It seems to have started a countdown to the crossing. I gulp nervously and look at the horizon waiting. I hope whoever it was wasn't dangerous. At least they couldn't use their powers during this.
I found a nearby bench and sit down. The lake reflected the beautiful sky. I smile a little excited to see the stars. It's a rare sight to see since the sun is always up. Once a month wasn't enough. Dad always said the stars were the best part of the Arctic. You can always see them there.
My watch beeps again showing 25 minutes. "How did they even hack into my watch?" I ask myself looking around. Someone here had to be doing it. I get up and started to look around. A message flashed on my watch.
I found you.
I gulp a little seeing that. I started to glance around nervously. That was a pretty creepy message to get. I spot a young woman, maybe her mid twenties looking at me. She quickly disappeared before I got a good look at her though. "It's okay. Nothing can happen here. It's a public place." I mumble softly. I mess with my jacket.
I start to calm down. This was a safe place. If something happens I can just yell out for help. Someone walks by me and their necklace catches my eye. It was a purple ardor gem. I stare at the necklace a little mesmerized. I snap out of it when she walks out of sight.
Ardor gems still worked on Moon Cross. I gulp a little knowing this could be really bad. If she just gets me to look at one of those crystals I wouldn't be able to stop myself. I didn't even notice that I was following the young woman who had the necklace. "You can just call out for help." I reassured myself. I looked at the watch. 20 minutes.
I don't need to worry about anything until then. I just need to follow this woman for now. I can worry about finding the messenger when the timer hits zero. Well I guess she'd just come to me. She apparently already found me.
