Detention [Echo x DJ]
((This request was written for EmilianaGerson0. Both DJ and Echo are her characters. The concept was mine but that's only because she gave me free range.))

I walk the halls of the high school slowly. I try to avoid eye contact with anyone because I'm very shy. I don't like to be around people, but there is one person I wouldn't mind being around. His name is DJ.
DJ is a popular guy at our school. He has tan skin and is often described as being a joker, probably because of his wild red hair. It catches the eye pretty easily.
'I really like his hair. It's such a nice color. And the way it spikes up is cool too. My hair is boring. It's black with dark neon blue tips and just hangs over my face. It doesn't attract as many eyes as DJ's.'
My thought is broken when I walk into a wall. I huff and take a few steps back. I was so distracted with the thought of my crush's hair that I lost track of where I was going. I walked past my classroom and straight into a wall.
"Smart one," I mutter softly to myself as I start to make my way to class.
Unfortunately I don't make it back in time and the bell rings. I know that I am in for it now because this teacher is very strict. He also doesn't like me. I'm not sure why, but he just doesn't.
I open the door slowly and prepare for the worst. I walk to take my seat when I hear that familiar sound of him clearing his throat. His name is Mr. Klian and he is probably the most hated teacher in the school.
"You're late, Echo. You know my rules about being on time. To the dean's office with you. You've just earned yourself a detention," he says with a rude tone, reminding me as to why everyone hates him.
I let out a loud sigh as I walk back towards the door. I hear a few people snicker as I slam the door closed. The class never was enjoyable to me, but unfortunately I have to take it.
I walk to the dean's office and explain to them why I was late. To them I'm just another distracted kid who missed the bell. They're not wrong either. I was distracted. I just wish that I hadn't missed the bell because now I have to sit in a classroom after school for an hour.
The lady behind the desk sends me on my way after giving me a pass. I head back to Mr. Klian's class with a sour look on my face. The only satisfaction I get is the icy glare he gives me as I sit down. He must have hoped that I wouldn't come back.
I glance over to the other side of the room and see DJ. He's drawing on his desk and not paying attention to the lecture. Although thanks to him neither am I.
Of course it is at this moment that Mr. Klian decides to call on me. I didn't hear his question so I just don't answer. After scolding me for not paying attention he moves on and calls someone else to answer.
After what feels like an eternity the bell rings, releasing all of us from the hell known as school. Well, most of us at least. I have detention to go to.
I begin to make my way across campus to the detention room when I see DJ not too far ahead of me. I'm not sure where he's going, but I'm curious. Although I would never ask. I'm far too shy to talk to my crush. My mind simply won't allow it.

I walk to the detention room. I know all too well where it is by now. All my teachers love to give me detentions for my jokes. Plus not a single one likes me. It's not like I actually care what they think. Their opinions of me aren't the important ones.
I walk into the room and take my usual seat in the back. The staff member doesn't even look up when I arrive because she knows by now that I'm usually the only one in here. But today is different. Today someone else is here.
A boy with long black hair with the tips dyed dark neon blue walks in. He quietly takes his seat and pulls out a book. He glances over at me for a moment before returning to his book.
He doesn't seem like the type to be in detention. It makes me wonder what he did to get here. I stare at him for a few moments before realizing who he is. He's in my history class and his name is Echo.
'I always thought his name was interesting. It's not everyday that you meet someone named Echo. It's pretty unique.'
He continues to read his book and tries not to acknowledge my existence, although I see him glance a few times. It's hard to see his face with his hair in the way, but I think I almost see him blush. I'm certainly curious about him.
I haven't had many opportunities to talk to him. I'm usually hanging around with my friends while he's off somewhere not causing trouble. I've only talked to him once. It was when a teacher forced us to be partners for a project. He ended up doing most of the work while I goofed around with my friends. I figure it's safe too assume that he must not like me too much, but then why would he blush?
I move over to a chair that's closer to his and see him look up. I catch a small glimpse of his face and see that it has turned a darker shade of red than before. I'm sure he finds it embarrassing, but I think it's cute.
Now that I can see him up close, his skin looks very soft. It's pale, the polar opposite of my skin tone, but it suits him. He doesn't say a word but also doesn't go back to reading. It's as if he's waiting for me to speak.
"What are you doing in detention, Echo? Aren't you supposed to be a good boy?"

I can feel the heat on my face rising when DJ starts to speak. It surprises me that he remembers my name, seeing as though we've only actually spoken once. Perhaps I left a good impression, although it's not likely.
"I was late to class is all. You should know, you were there," I respond to his question.
He goes quiet for a moment. He's probably thinking about how he would know because I'm fairly certain he hasn't realized that I am in his history class. Or he just wasn't paying attention in class like always.
"Well, yeah, but I never pay attention in Klian's class. He's a cunt," he says after a moment, not surprising me with his language.
I've heard much worse about Klian. It's not a new thing to hear smack talk from DJ. He often has a lot to say about a lot of teachers. Most people are used to it by now and just ignore it.
"Of course he is. Everyone calls him that,"
He lets out a small laugh from my comment that I can't help but find sexy. Something about him is just so attractive to me. I don't know what it is, but I like it a lot.
It takes me a few seconds to snap back to reality. Only then do I realize that the woman who was supposed to be watching us in this room is gone. We are all alone.
Part of me likes that we are alone in this room. We can do pretty much anything we want when we're alone. The rest of me doesn't because that makes things more awkward. There's no one to tell us to be quiet if we keep talking.
DJ looks over at the desk where she once was and rolls his eyes. It's as if this isn't a new thing for him. He looks back over at me with the slightest of smirks.
"She leaves after ten minutes and doesn't come back," he says with a soft purr in his voice.
I blush darkly from his tone and look to the side. I try to focus on anything that can distract me, but the only thing that is even remotely interesting in this room is a blank wall. There is nothing that can distract me.
Before I can find anything on the floor I feel DJ turn me to face him. I blush even darker because of this, but I swear my face turns a darker shade of red than a cherry when his lips touch mine. I just sit there, frozen. I don't know what to do at all. The kiss was so unexpected.
Unfortunately it ends just as quickly as it started. I wish it hadn't because I had just started to enjoy it, but it did. I know that my face is a very deep shade of red so I look to the side.
The bell rings, dismissing us from detention. It's the only bell that plays after school has already ended. I quickly grab my things and head for the door when I feel DJ hug my waist.
"I'll see you next time, Echo,~" he purrs.
After that we go our separate ways. I can't believe that this actually happened and now I crave for more. I can't wait for our next detention.
