X and Y Being Dads, Chapter Five: Sacrifices and Picnics

At the end of the day, sometimes people had to sacrifice stuff to be with their family. Sometimes it feels like a burden, but it's worth it in the end. That was the case with X and Y when there was yet another attack on the city.

"Ugh, stupid robbers!" Y grumbled while Duri got on his partner. "Why do they have to always be like this?"

"Don't ask me!" Duri frowned. "I wish they would leave us alone too!"

"It's a shame... we were looking forward to that picnic with -X and -Y," X spoke. They had always wanted to go on one someday, yet every time, it was pushed back and left both sides feeling miserable.

Hearing this, Dingyo and Nebok shared a glance. A silent conversation passed between them as the two pinkettes knew what they had to do. Semo caught on pretty quickly too, and he took out his phone. "I'm calling Pilseung. He and Ultra Commander should be free today."

"Taeyang and Captain Police would probably be the best choice," Nebok added while getting his own phone out. "Hana, Duri, wanna stay back for today?"

"Wait, what?" Hana blinked.

"Why should we?" Duri argued.

"We'll take those robbers down, so consider this an off day for you two," Limo caught on as well. "I'll assist with Zero. You guys should probably help X and Y prepare for the picnic."

"We work you two too hard at times," Dingyo cut in before Duri could interject. "You guys need some rest. Plus, if we do need your help, we'll let you know. But until then, you should be allowed to have fun."

"Just take it, you two. They're already on their way," Semo said as he put his phone away. "We're good until we call."

"But... it's our duty to protect the city," X stammered.

"You're not the only heroes around," R reminded him. "Plus, we've been discussing shifts for a while right? You two have been working longer than any of us have, and so you need some down time. Please, Y."

"R..."

"You go too, X. We know you care too much about -X," Z added.

"Z..." If he had a face, everyone was sure he would be smiling. "Thank you everyone."

Hana snorted. "Alright, time to make some sandwiches huh?"

"Sounds like a plan," Duri agreed. "We can even go visit Ogong! He's quite in the rural area so it's perfect for a picnic!"

"Then we have a plan, don't we?" Semo grinned. "Let's go then! We're moving out!"

And so, as the twins got down from their partners, their friends set off to protect the city.

"Let's go then, Oppa," Duri smiled.

"Yeah," Hana smiled back.

For the next hour, the two worked side by side making some sandwiches for the picnic. They didn't forget to add in some chocolate cake stored from the party a week ago for -Y, and even packed some oil for the two Tobots. It was nice, getting to work together with his twin, the two thought to themselves. No one would have expected this when they first met Night, but.... It happened and they were happy about that. Even if it did cause their father to go to a rehab center while their Uncle Limo took care of them. But life did get better. Duri got to be more open, more kinder, and Hana finally grew out of his negative thinking, his denial.

It really gave them some sort of quiet gratitude. For Hana, it was that he could make it up to his twin for what he's done to him. For Duri, it was that he could finally be himself, and he even made his mask part of him. No words were exchanged, but their smiles said it all.

Eventually, they did set out with their Tobots and the other two. -Y was excited, really, really excited. She and Duri played some games to pass the time while -X and Hana chatted about the scenery that they passed by. X and Y even joined in from time to time. Both vehicles were filled with the sounds of laughter and happiness.

The place they found for their picnic ended up being on the outskirts of Daedo, so Hana and -X set up the picnic table while Duri and -Y laid out the food. The smell was enough to make -Y's mouth water, but Hana ensured she didn't touch the food while -X helped Duri get the oil for the Tobots.

The six of them then began the picnic, chattering away lightly as Hana told the two young children about the adventures they had had. Most of them were enough to make -Y laugh like mad, while -X offered a snicker in reply. Duri then taught the two how to play soccer, and X and Y refereed the match.

"Hey that was a foul!"

"No it wasn't!"

"Yes it was!"

"No it wasn't!"

"Yes! It! Was!"

Of course, all picnics had some sort of argument happen, and that was the case with this one, but thankfully it was stated that no, it wasn't a foul, and -X gave a pout while -Y cheered.

Their time together was pretty nice, though, and once the sun began to set, they headed back to Daedo. -X and -Y were already knocked out and sleeping while leaning on their respective parent's partner, smiling in their sleep.

And this made the others share a smile. Perhaps they should do it more often.

After all, family mattered, especially a found one.

And I have finally finished it! Whew! What do you think? Littlexheatwave
