Prime the Overprotective Dad, Chapter Two: Faltering Fears
"What's wrong OP?"
"Look, we... need to talk," Prime said as he met High Tide's eyes, heaving a weary sigh while sitting on the chair. This was definitely going to be hard. He didn't know where to begin or end. He just... He had to talk. He couldn't avoid it anymore.
"What about?"
"I... I have to leave Earth," he finally said.
And the silence that blanketed the room, the shock and betrayal on High Tide's face told him everything he needed to know, confirmed his worst fears. He had known what High Tide would think when he got the announcement, and he... he hadn't liked it at all.
Then why had he said yes? Why had he not refused?
"B-But you said that you wouldn't leave me again!" he yelled as tears fell down his cheeks.
"I-I..." He couldn't defend himself here. He HAD promised that, hadn't he? Why had he broken it?
The kid was crying so hard now, and when he tried to reach out, he was smacked off as he and Servo ran up to his room. The sound of the door being slammed close reverberated throughout the house, leaving him there with his thoughts of regrets and guilt.
What was he to do now?
Could he ask for forgiveness?
He didn't know... and it scared him.

"High... Tide?"
"O-OP..." High Tide poked his head out of the blanket fort he had made for himself. "W-What do you want?"
"I want to talk please," he spoke, trying to keep his tone from choking his throat with the sheer emotion he felt now. He hated hurting High Tide as he had... "Please?"
".... O-Okie...." the child pushed himself out of the blankets so that most of his body was out before looking up to him.
He took in a deep breath and said, "I'm sorry..."
"N-No it's okie, I know you work hard," he said. "I should've been more understanding... Sorry OP...."
"No no, it's not you, it's me," he reassured him. "Hear me out, High Tide..."
"O-Okie..."
"I... I was offered the position of a higher-ranking commander in the Rescue Bots group," he started, gulping at the stare he was being given. "And I... accepted it... because... I thought that if I did it... I could protect you more."
"H-Huh?"
"I was thinking that if I could stop them before they arrived.... Maybe you could be safe," He admitted. "But I forgot... Maybe I even wanted to leave because I wondered why I bothered with you... I regret that now."
"OP..."
"Look I want you... To grow up happy okay? You're going to be great!!" He smiled and wiped a stray tear away. "So don't hold back for anyone okay?"
"O-OP!!!" High Tide suddenly jumped forward and hugged him tight, surprising the legendary warrior, especially when he began crying too, "G-Go and be a hero! I-I will wait!"
"High Tide...." He sniffled slightlyand hugged back, feeling so relieved as the two stayed that way, a consensus finally reached on the matter.
Finally it is done!! Hope you like it! Littlexheatwave
