"What do you think your brother would want?" Luno asked him gently.

Gammamon.... Didn't know. And the realisation, the fear and panic he was feeling now that he knew that fact was very much real. Shallow breaths could be heard as the child was trying to hold back his tears. He remembered what Hokuto had said before BlackTailmon had dropped him off in Hiro's room at Hazakura a week before Hiro met Clockmon.

"Take good care of Hiro, okay? He may take care of you first, but make sure to give him something in return, not just in protecting him, maybe something to show your gratitude. Give him something he would like."

He hadn't! He hadn't asked, never bothered to question what his brother liked. Heck, Angoramon and Jellymon knew what their partners liked but he didn't! Hokuto would be so disappointed in him!

Stumbling back, he gripped his head, tears leaking out of his eyes as he whispered, "I-I don't know..."

Sharing a panicked glance with her partners, Luno tried to reassure Gammamon, "Hey it's okay! Some people don't really like talking about themselves-"

"BUT I'M SUPPOSED TO KNOW!!" he snapped back and immediately flinched as he looked down, "S-Sorry..."

Bokomon could only stare wide-eyed at him. In his mind, something, a memory was being remembered, but what was it...? This child-like innocence... This kid-like response... What was it?! Why was it so familiar?!

“Kid, don't push yourself like this," Agumon stepped in, placing a comforting hand on him while Shoutmon nodded, agreeing with him as he said, "Panicking won't help you with this situation now, right? We can't do anything but move forward. If you don't know, why don't you try to think hard about what he likes? What you think he would like if you gave it to him?"

"W-What I think he would like?..." He repeated, confusion becoming the main emotion he was feeling to help him calm down. Obviously Hiro wouldn't like chocolate as much as he did, right? Bokomon had once told him that everyone was different and it was okay to embrace that unique spark each person had.

Maybe, if he thought hard about it, the answer would come?

Finally in a better headspace, he decided to take in deep breaths like Hiro had once taught him to, willing himself to slowly pull in air and then let excess air out. He imagined the memories he had had with Hiro as small orbs, and he tried to reach out to them, trying to decipher their meaning to the best of his ability. Finding what his brother liked was his top priority now!

When he reached a certain memory, he paused and decided to look closer. It was before the Yatagaramon case, as the weather got colder and leaves fell to the ground. The two were in the department store, choosing a winter look for Gammamon when Hiro noticed a sale for hoodies and immediately walked over to check it out.

Noticing this, Gammamon flew over and asked, "What are you looking at, Hiro?"

"Oh I'm just looking at some hoodies," He answered while taking some out to try.

"Do you like the hooties?“ the Digimon asked again.

Hiro could only laugh as he admitted, "Hoodies are really nice to wear. Maybe I'll get one for you to try, Gammamon."

Of course, practicality won over for Hiro and he ended up with a scarf, the very scarf that was on his neck right now, but it now gave him an idea on what he could get for Hiro as a present!

"Let's go to the department store!" The dinosaur Digimon immediately set off, flying away in excitement. He finally knew what to get his brother! Probably it wouldn't be as fancy as Angoramon's or Jellymon's, but hopefully Hiro would like it!

Seeing this, a fond smile formed on Bokomon's lips as he offhandedly said, "He's really grown, hasn't he?"

This caught everyone else off guard, but Bokomon waved it off, "Just an observation."

Where had that come from?

The professor Digimon didn't know either, but he didn't mind it as he smiled and climbed onto Luno's head, "What are we waiting for, though? We should catch up with him!"

"R-Right," Angoramon was stunned. He was pretty sure that there was no way Bokomon would have remembered anything after being killed... Right?

Was this something the Digivice could do?

He didn't know, but that was a question for later. Bokomon was right; catching up with Gammamon was more important at the moment.

With that, the group chased after the determined youngster, and eventually found him looking through the hoodie section an hour later. Wow, who knew he could fly THAT fast!

Gammamon then noticed a black shirt with a grey hood attached to it, and for some reason, something compelled him to take it. It reminded him of... Something. No, someone... What was it?

Still, it felt like a good match for Hiro, so he smiled and turned to them, "Oh! You're here! I found my gift for Hiro!"

Jellymon was skeptical about that choice, but she was sure that Hiro would take anything Gammamon gave him no matter how useless it was, so she shrugged, "Okay! That means we're done with all the gifts!"

And as they paid for it, Luno and Jun shared a smile before Luno said, "Well, we're going to go around a bit more. Have fun you guys. And good luck. I'm sure your presents will be received well."

"Thank you for your help," Angoramon said as he bowed at them.

"Hey, no problem. Maybe sometime we can meet your partners! They sound like a fun bunch!" Shoutmon said.

That was not a word one could use to describe the team, but Jellymon took it, "Sure! Just prepare to laugh at Darling being a coward!"

Luno could only smile before the two said their own goodbyes and left, with Pumpmon hugging and saying goodbye with a smile while Bokomon just sat on Luno's head, smiling and waving as well.

Time would tell what he had lost, but new memories could always be made.

Alright!! This was definitely longer cause not gonna lie, Hiro is definitely my comfort character. Plus, Gammamon's present was the funniest of the three and since he's a kid it makes sense that he would forget stuff. Some references about Bokomon's fate in the show, and an additional thing I believe Hokuto must have told Gammamon before he was unceremoniously and literally dropped onto Hiro's lap.
