When Enemies Become Frenemies, Part 4

As it turned out, Mao Mao had thought that a picnic counted as dinner.

Orangusnake had to control himself from facepalming once he saw the display. Did this guy grow up without a proper dinner? This was a far cry from the dinners he usually had in his Airship; eating with his crew in the dining room, chatting and laughing together.

But it's not like he had any choice, anyway. Mao Mao had kidnapped HIM of all people to have this dinner. It would be rude of him if he declined. (Yes, even a Sky Pirate had manners.)

Also, he was starving.

That was enough motive to him because he had to supply food for 2 animals; an orangutan and a snake. And right now, he didn't feel like being bitten for food.

So there they were; hero and villain sitting side by side as they watched the stars while eating sandwiches the feline hero had prepared beforehand.

"These taste great," Orangusnake mumbled honestly.

Mao Mao sheepishly rubbed his head, "Badgerclops helped. He said that he didn't trust me to do it by myself."

The hybrid captain stared at the feline in confusion, "Just making sandwiches is dangerous?"

"Apparently, in his words, I could mess up any food, no matter how simple," Mao Mao crossed his arms slightly.

Was it just Orangusnake, or was Mao Mao POUTING?

Okay, now the poor villain's head was messed up.

Why?

Two reasons.

One, he did not know that the usually-serious Mao Mao could be THIS cute.

And two....

Why was his heart beating so fast?!

Scratch that, he could feel his face heating up after seeing that pout.

And that made him panic internally.

He couldn't lose his reputation! He didn't want to- no, he MUSTN'T lose his face in front of his biggest enemy.

This resulted with him covering his face with his hands in a super futile attempt to hide it.

Poor Orangusnake, though. Mao Mao had spotted this almost immediately.

"Hey, you okay?" the hero hesitantly asked.

"I-I'm fine," Orangusnake replied shakily. "Y-You don't have to worry about me...."

"Why not?" Mao Mao frowned softly. "You're my guest. Why wouldn't I worry about you?"

Someone please save his soul; his face was a tomato now, "I-It's really nothing...."

"Stop lying," Now Mao Mao's tone had a steely edge to it. "Tell me the truth."

Orangusnake just gulped.

What should I do....?
