Warming a Queen's Heart, Part 2
Going to the village, Mystica wondered if she could turn around now.
She was honestly a bit excited. Finding a new servant wasn't something you did everyday. She would hopefully find someone who she could eventually trust.
But at the same time, she felt nervous. What if she messed up and chose a bad servant? That would just be embarrassing! The last thing she wanted was that!
Opting to take in deep breaths to calm her down, she looked out to the green meadows they passed, smiling slightly at the serenity she felt from them. The scenery had never failed to calm her down, no matter how angry she was.
"Please stop the carriage here," she eventually decided. "I would like to get some fresh air before I arrive at the village."
"But of course, Your Majesty!" The coachman immediately did so, stopping the carriage slowly before rushing down from his seat to help the queen off the carriage.
After regaining her balance, Mystica turned to the coachman, "Wait here. I wish to walk alone."
The coachman nodded, bowing to her as a sign of compliance. The queen just smiled in response, soon heading off to the fields.
The gentle breeze in the air wafted through her hair, the sunlight reflecting its beauty. A pleasant smile graced her face as she walked, her purple shoes matching a peaceful rhythm moving from place to place.
Her peacefulness was evident to the people who stopped their farm work to gawk at the beauty before them, more so once they realised who it was. Of course, all of them honoured the queen, so they quietly went back to work after a hesitant silence, looking up once in a while to watch her.
Eventually, her walk took her to a particular field, where a blue-haired boy was planting the seeds with a brown-haired one.
Mystica could hear the two of them laughing and smiling as they worked. Focused but light-hearted. It was a rare trait these days, and the queen appreciated it.
But what made her stop completely... Was when the blue-haired boy SMILED.
That smile was like a little ray of sunshine, slowly melting her heart with it.
And it was so familiar...
Her eyes widened in realisation, "T-This is..."
He must be what I've been looking for.
The sunshine that I thought had disappeared after my mother died....
Her feet did all the acting for her, slowly moving to the field.
The siblings noticed, and their eyes widened before they immediately bowed to her, "Y-Your Majesty!"
Mystica smiled slightly, "At ease, you two. I do not want you two bowing towards me."
The two hesitantly complied, standing up to face her.
"What are your names?" She kindly asked them.
"I-I'm Komasan!" the blue-haired boy introduced. "A-And this is my brother, K-Komajiro!"
Komasan.... What a fitting name for him... She thought before she replied, "It's a pleasure to meet you two."
"T-The pleasure is all ours, Y-Your Majesty!" Komajiro stuttered.
"W-What brings you here to our humble field?" Komasan asked her softly.
"I am in search for a servant that I can trust. And I believe that I have found him," she looked at Komasan. "I would like to have you become my servant, if that is okay with you."
Komasan's eyes immediately bulged, "M-Me?!"
Mystica nodded, "If that is fine with you. I will treat you well and allow your family to move to the castle if you do. The only thing I ask of you is to help me."
Komasan's eyes widened, before they looked down, his face taking on a thinking pose.
After a while, Komasan looked up again, and nodded, "Of course!"
Mystica smiled sincerely, "Marvellous."
