"Sweetheart?"

No reply.

"Night, please..." Snugglemagne's tone was pleading as he stood in front of Night's door. "I didn't mean to call you weak. I was wrong. I was stupid."

From the other side of the door, Night was curled up on her bed, fighting back her tears. Her sharp hearing caught Snugglemagne's words, and it just broke her heart even more.

His tone was so soft.... So unlike the usual gentlemanly Snugglemagne.

"I-I just look up to my ancestors.... I-I consider them my role models.... So to hear their being defamed.... It angered me..." he confessed.

"Oh, Snugglemagne....." she slowly got up and moved to the door, before she spoke, "Snugglemagne, I should be the one saying sorry. I.... I shouldn't have judged you so quickly.... This is all on me...."

"No, I was being ungentlemanly."

Night had to snort slightly, "Excuse me, Sir. You kept being polite throughout the entire fight till I insulted your ancestors. It's understandable and cute at the same time."

"Oh, shut up!" Snugglemagne had to cover his face for a while, feeling it heat up drastically.

The wolf giggled. She could already imagine him as a red little puffball.

That made her open the door slowly to see him hiding behind a wall, trying to get his feelings under control. He was blushing and sputtering like a madman, which triggered a full-blown laugh from her. Oh gosh, it was just so hilarious!

"Dear me, Snugglemagne. You could be a heart-shaped tomato and I would be none the wiser," she snickered.

"N-NO WAY!!" he covered his face once more. "I-I..."

"But I love you this way."

"H-Huh? Really?"

"Of course," Night laughed softly. "You're my gentleman. I love you for that."

"Oh Night....." he went red once more. "T-Thank you so much for the compliment."

"It's no problem. You can reward me this way," she then surged forward and kissed him.

Snugglemagne was stunned at first, but he eventually gave in and kissed back.

No one saw this.

The only witnesses to this was her family's spirits, happy to see her smiling after their deaths.
