The Pros and Cons of Being a Hero, Part Two: "I'm sorry I never told you."

"Mmmmmmmm!" Pollen smiled from within Vivien's bag as she drank the honey bottle Marinette had given her. "This is so tasty!"

"She's a good Guardian, indeed," Vivien agreed while he munched on some bread. "But her family's bread is as tasty as ever!"

"You bet!" Pollen cheered, but stopped upon noticing something up ahead, "Hey, Vivien, isn't that Alix Kubdel? Your crush?"

Hearing her words, his face went red, "I-I told you, s-she's not my crush- Wait, you're right."

Indeed, there she was, leaning on the wall of his house as she looked around to observe the place her friend had grown up in. Despite his extremely lucky background, Vivien wasn't Chloe. He was a kind person who didn't flaunt around and enjoyed the normalities of life instead of choosing extravagance. One of the things she loved about him.

Her face grew red with the sheer thought of love. Despite everything, she was still a bit shy around the concept of actually letting him know about her feelings. She feared it would destroy their friendship. She just kept it down, hoping he wouldn't notice her red faces whenever he helped her with something.

She sighed, but then saw the person she had been waiting for with the talking bee. Immediately, her posture stiffened, and she straightened up as she got up and walked over.

Vivien flinched, taking a step back out of fear. What was wrong with her? She seemed so angry right now. "W-What's wrong, Alix?"

"I know you're Buzzer. I can see the talking bee!" she said once she got close enough.

His eyes went wide, and Pollen backed away, seeming scared of her. She was so different from normal.... "I-I.. I-I can explain!"

"Do you have any idea how worried I was?!" she yelled, eyes ablaze in anger. "I thought you were avoiding me, and this is what I get in return! You're actually putting yourself in danger! I thought I was crazy, but this! This is so ridiculous it should be a dream! Why are you doing this to yourself!? You should... You should be just doing normal things, like how you always wanted to."

She bit her lip, trying to keep herself from crying too much. She couldn't, she wouldn't. Not right now.

However, he was sharp and noticed this, which promptly spiked his guilt levels. He hadn't meant to make her mad... He had honestly thought that he was doing the right thing...

"I-I just wanted to protect Paris..... I-I wanted to protect everyone, especially you, as much as I can!" he tried to hide the sobs and hiccups he was making, but it was as clear as day. "I-I'm s-so s-sorry! I-I'm a failure! I-I just wanted to keep you safe...."

Hearing that, Alix's rage subsided, and her eyes softened. In the end, it was still the Vivien she loved, and the decision was logical despite the rashness.

She hugged him, "I-I'm the one who should be sorry, Vivien. I'm sorry for getting mad at you. I-I was just scared for you. I-I was scared of losing you, b-because I..."

She could do this.

"I love you..."

His eyes widened, but he slowly hugged back. With every tear, relief slowly flooded his heart. She wasn't mad at him. She loved him too.

He was going to be okay. He had Alix, and that was enough.
