Teaming Up, Chapter Two
"Who are you to assume that I would know where your mentors are?" King Snugglemagne frowned down at the two kids from his throne.
"We were hoping that you would at least know," Bella mumbled, glaring slightly at the throne-loving lion as she spoke.
Being the more polite member of the duo, Adorabat asked, "Do you at least know where we can find them?"
"I'm afraid not, young Adorabat," he combed his mane while replying. "Perhaps you can ask around?"
"We will. Thank you so much, King Snugglemagne," she bowed down to the king before dragging Bella out.
Once they were out, the lamb groaned, "No use asking that phony. We should go check your headquarters first."
"Makes sense," the bat agreed. "Let's go then!"
"Yeah," she smiled softly in response.
That's how the two ended up going to the headquarters to check for any clues to their whereabouts. However, they did not find anything related, so they opted to check the Airship next.
Annoyingly, they had to dig around for a while because of all the broken parts which had caused the airship to break a bit. This really ticked Adorabat off, since she was not used to this.
"Gosh *puff* Is this *puff* what you guys do *puff* after losing to us? *puff*" she panted out to the lamb while carrying some debris away.
"Yes, you idiotic bat," the sheep shot back, feeling slightly venomous after the failed attempts to find clues before.
"Hey, I am NOT idiotic!" Adorabat hissed at her.
"You are!" Bella bleated out to her, crossing her arms in annoyance.
"I am NOT!"
"You are!"
"I am NOT!"
"Yes, you ar-" she suddenly stopped, blinking as her eyes grew confusion in them.
"H-Huh?" Adorabat blinked as well. What had made her stop?
This prompted her to watch Bella, who slowly moved a bit farther and took out a business card from another pile of debris.
"'Rufus and Red's Stealing Service'?" she read it aloud. "What's that?"
"Rufus?!" Adorabat's eyes were wide now. "He's involved in this?!"
"I guess so?" she shrugged. "Why?"
"W-Well..." Adorabat mumbled. "He was a friend who tricked me into giving him all my things by making up a bogus holiday called 'Takesgiving'."
The lamb's eyes widened as well, "I see. But the Sky Pirates would never hold on to something like this. I'm sure of that."
"If that's the case, should we go to his shack for answers?"
"You read my mind, Adorabat."
