"Not until you give us the information we want," Bella crossed her arms. 

"Yeah!" Adorabat nodded, her tiny little paws gripping the rope that hung the girl above yet another alligator pit since they had not let Rufus and Reg down and did not have the motivation to do so. 

"B-But I can't! It's against the store's rules!" she wailed out. 

"Well, it's better than dying to a bunch of alligators, right?" Bella smiled 'sweetly', the malice in her tone fueling the girl's fear of death. 

"So you better 'fess up!" Adorabat threatened. "Otherwise, we'll drop you!" 

"P-Please no!" she screamed in fear. 

"We're waiting," Bella glared at her. "Say all you know about your co-worker. NOW." 

"F-Fine!" she finally gave in. "H-His name is Eugene! H-He DOES work with me, b-but he hasn't shown up for work for the past few days! I-I don't know where he lives, b-but I think his girlfriend does!" 

"Girlfriend?" They both chorused.

"Y-Yes! S-She's a fox named Roxanne! T-That's all I know! I-I swear!" she bawled. 

Adorabat really pitied her now, seeing her sad tears fall down her cheeks. She was only following the rules. She didn't want to lose her job over breaking it. It honestly made sense. 

However, she remembered that her coworker was also potentially the one who kidnapped Mao Mao, Badgerclops, and the Sky Pirates for an unknown reason, and they needed all the information they could get. Even if it was through unethical ways. 

It was either a lost job or a potential new threat running loose in the valley. 

And THAT was a terrifying idea. 

"Alright then," Bella sighed. "Let's pull her up." 

"Y-Yeah!" Adorabat nodded. At least they could save her now-

SNAP! 

"AHHHHHHHHHH-"

SPLASH! 

The two froze on the spot, eyes wandering to look at the pit's water, which was slowly turning scarlet. 

They made eye contact once more. Fear was clear in their eyes, and they knew that. 

Making a silent agreement on the spot, the two sped away from the crime scene, unable to comprehend what they had just done.
