Teaming Up, Chapter Four

"What should we do now?...." Adorabat mumbled to Bella.

"I'm not so sure..." Bella replied while slumping on a chair in the shack they were in, feeling so so useless now.

They had lost any potential leads that could lead them to their mentors. Instead, they had just been given a description. A DESCRIPTION. THAT DID NOT HELP. AT ALL.

"Those two are useless at times," Adorabat sighed. "I have no idea what I saw in them before."

"Geez, you are so naïve when it comes to this," Bella mumbled back to her.

"Aha, I don't want to hear that from you."

"Why not?"

"It just doesn't feel right."

"Yeah right-................"

"Eh? Bella?" Adorabat blinked, tangerine eyes slowly following Bella's gaze to....

"Wait, is that what I think it is?"

"If  you're thinking security camera, then yes, it is."

"We need to find the footage for that."

"On it," Bella scurried off like the lamb she was and searched high and low for the laptop. Once she found one, she hacked into it and got it open to its main interface.

The bat could only watch in pure awe as the member of the Sky Pirates found the footage they needed. While the cameras were old, they could still see the footage clearly, which was something they were grateful for.

"What are we waiting for then?! Let's watch!"

"Alright alright," Bella smiled before she rewinded it.

Her eyes widened the moment she saw a tall man talking with Rufus and Reggie.

"Could he be...?" Adorabat whispered.

"I think he is," Bella's eyes noted the blue cloak and the clothing that covered everything but his mouth.

Their mouths moved. No words came out.

But they knew they were talking about their mentors. Their bodies said it all.

There was a large bag given to the two conmen, which prompted them to leave the room for the moment. The man's eyes then wandered around, eventually finding the camera.

Then, he looked at it directly, and waved, giving a toothy grin at them, as if he was sure that someone would watch it.

"S-Scary..." Adorabat shuddered.

"Don't worry," Bella calmed her. "It's jsut a video. Nothing more, nothing less."

"O-Okay then..." she hesitantly nodded.

With that, the two went back to the footage.

Bella paused it and zoomed to it, trying to see anything that might give him away. However, he was covered top to toe; they couldn't find anything.

"Nothing?"

"Yeah..."

Adorabat groaned, "No way...."

Bella sighed as well, but then she noticed something else in the photo.

This something made her zoom in once more, focusing on a loose tag from his cloak. The tag had D, U, F, and a bunch of other letters that had been blurred out sadly.

But it was a lead nonetheless. A prospective one.

The lamb mulled over it for a while, eyes scanning the three letters.

Then, she immediately went to work, fingers moving around like crazy. Her brain was moving at the speed of light as she searched and searched.

After a while, she found herself smiling a bit as she turned to the perplexed Adorabat, "I got good news and bad news."

"What?" she blinked curiously.

"Good news is that the cloak was sold by a store around here. We might be able to find out more there."

"But the bad news?"

Her smile went down a bit, "There are 34 stores that could have sold the cloak to him. Since there were only the first 3 letters of the stores, she could only look in a 50-mile radius."

"What does that mean for us?"

"Most probably we'll have to walk all over the forest till we find it."

"NO."

"Yes."

"Agh," Adorabat sighed. "Let's just go then."

"Agreed," Bella sighed as well.

With that, the two soon left the shack, bringing the laptop with them in the search for their mentors.
