Sleepover of Pranks, Part Two
Kat was getting restless. It was so boring now. What was she to do while they blabbered away about weird stuff? Not like she would understand it anyway, but she wanted the plan to begin.
She played with her brown and pink hair. Avoiding eye contact, she tried to hide her apprehension. When could she initiate the plan? She was getting restless for sure.
However, it ended up being WAY faster than expected.
Because when Gia went to the toilet, a few seconds later saw her returning to the living room, eyes covered by a bunch of pillows.
She had to cover her mouth to hide her giggles as her brown-green-haired friend flailed her hands around, trying to find any help from the others.
Welp, guess what happened?
Violet laughed her head off, and watched leisurely as the others raced after her, trying to help her. Rose in particular was leading them, chasing the computer genius around the room. Her bright blonde hair bobbed up and down like the waves, nearly smacking poor Victoria on the face, since she was just behind her.
Kat herself was sitting on the couch, trying to keep a confused look on. If Rose knew of what she did, Katherine could wish her earlier happiness goodbye. She could already imagine the swords woman chasing her around the room, this time out of anger.
She shuddered involuntarily. What kind of horrors could she bring? It kinda scared her... But well, she couldn't stop pranking. It was a part of her at this rate-
"Kat."
I'm doomed.
Slowly turning to the clearly unamused girl, she sheepishly rubbed the back of her head, "Erm, I'm sorry?"
"Do you actually mean it?" Gia crossed her arms. She did not look happy for once. Whoops.
"Does she?" Violet shrugged. "Who knows? I definitely don't."
"Gosh, you really are immature," Victoria scoffed. "Can't you at least be sincere?"
"H-Hey!" Kat looked offended. "I really am sorry!"
"But why can't you stop pranking then?"
That statement, cold as it was, wasn't what made her freeze up.
No, it was the mistrusting looks her friends were shooting her.
Just like that, her posture changed. The regret pulled her down to the Earth, making her feel like she was carrying a million bricks on her back. The looks... It was too much... She couldn't handle it...
Noticing this, Jessica couldn't help but feel bad for her. It wasn't that Katherine wanted to play more pranks. She knew more than anyone that it had been a reflex from all the loneliness. Her best friend tried to hide it, but she knew what to see.
Loneliness could be a horrible thing to people at times.
They were just pushing that back up in her.
She...
She couldn't stand it.
Inhale, and a brave step forward later, Jessica went to her knees.
And hugged Kat.
The girl's eyes widened, shocked yet touched at the same time. To see her best friend like this... Even with her reserved personality...
"It's okay, Kat. You don't have to worry anymore. I forgive you," she gently smiled towards her, soft black hair filled with a lavender smell wafting into her nose. "I believe you... You felt left out. And I'm sorry for that. I should have spent more time with you. I'm so sorry..."
"Jessica..." Tears pricked on the sides of her eyes. "I... I... T-Thank you..."
The grip on her proved to Jessica that her suspicions had been true.
And the rest who were watching knew that as well.
That's why, one by one, they all joined the hug, even Violet, who DID care for her friends. It was a warm group hug, filled with apologies and tears. Wishes were said, scoldings were made, but the most prominent emotion of it was definitely the love they had for one another.
Once, they had all been fractured, but when together, they were whole. They were going to keep it that way for as long as they could.
No matter what obstacles stood in their way, they could overcome it.
Together.
