Releasing the Inner Pain

The mountain she was on blasted her with snow, yet, as per usual, she couldn't feel it. It just felt soothing.

She closed her eyes. She had just left her home, the only place she had known, for this isolated, cold place with no people around. She had just left her childhood friend, Mao Mao Mao, behind, shocked and sad and all the other emotions that usually came along.

This place was safer for her, though. After that incident that nearly hurt him, it was better for her to be away from him.

Maybe, this could be home instead.

The snow glows white on the mountain tonight,

not a footprint to be seen.

A valley of isolation,

and it looks like I'm not there.

She gripped her other gloved hand, squeezing her eyes shut before she relaxed, continuing on.

The wind is howling like this swirling storm inside.

Couldn't keep it in,

Heavens know that I've tried.

Something in her heart began to accept her current fate. Maybe she could make it work.

Don't let them in,

Her feet began to move.

Don't let them see.

Their speed quickened.

Be the good girl,

you've always had to be.

She remembered all the words. "You should be a good girl."

Conceal,

don't feel,

don't let them know.

She gripped the glove. A smile slowly blossomed on her face as she pulled it off, and allowed the smile on her face to bloom, watching it fly away with her chains.

But now they know!

Her ice powers came out, and she began playing, testing, experimenting as she made snowmans all around.

Let it go, let it go, can't hold it back anymore.

Let it go, let it go, turn away and slam the door!

The snow fell.

She smiled, letting this amazing feeling engulf her. She let it take her away.

I don't care,

what they're going to say!

Let the storm rage on...

A blissful smile on her face, she took off her hoodie and let it fly away.

The cold never bothered me anyway.

***

Rose wasn't bothered by the high altitudes, shown as she walked up the mountain, smiling while looking around.

It's funny how some distance,

makes everything seem small.

She turned back, and watched the place around her. It felt warm, inviting, like it could become home.

It was perfect.

And the fears that once controlled me,

can't get to me at all!

She began running, letting the wind brush against her skin. Just as it should.

It's time to see what I can do!

She got to a cliffside, but she didn't want to stop.

She closed her eyes, and used her powers to make a staircase to the other side.

To test the limits, and break through!

No right, no wrong, no rules for me!

She got to the first step of the stairs, and grinned as she stepped on it.

I'm free!

She got back to running, singing at the top of her voice, letting it roar with the snow.

Let it go,

let it go,

I am one with the wind and sky!

She reached the top, and it felt amazing. It felt wonderful!

Let it go, let it go!

You'll never see me cry!

She grinned, moving to the middle of the cliff as she stomped her foot down, allowing her powers to spread across it.

Here I stand,

and here I'll stay!

Let the storm rage on~!

Her powers danced through the air, making a wonderful palace on the mountains. She could only watch in awe, and it inspired her to keep singing.

My power flurries through the air into the ground!

She sent her magic to the pillars, allowing them to make themselves.

My soul is spiralling in frozen fractals all around!

The palace slowly got its own roof, to cover her.

And one thought crystallises like an icy blast.

She smiled as she watched this all transpire, before she looked down to the locket Mao Mao had given her, as a promise to get married one day.

She had to get rid of it.

I'm never going back.

"I'm so sorry, Mao Mao. I'm dangerous. You're better off without me," she whispered before her singing went into a whole new octave as she took it off and threw it away.

The past is in the PASTTTTTT!

Let it go!

Let it go!

Her powers began to create a new outfit for her, making her smile as she continued on.

And I'll rise like the break of dawn~

Let it go, let it go!

That perfect girl is gone!

It finished its work, and she proudly walked over to the balcony, her head high, her chin up.

Here I stand, in the light of day!~

The doors materialised, and she watched the sun, a grin on her face.

Let the storm rage on!

The cold never bothered me anyway.

She then turned around, closing the door behind her, unaware of what she had done to Pure Heart Valley.
