Book 1: Love

When Allie was ten, her parents were killed by a bunch of demons, and she was forced to watch them die, which made her decide to become a demon hunter, so no one would ever have to suffer like she did. 

However, during a fight with a demon, she stumbles across a seemingly human male who was unconscious. Taking him home with her, she begins taking care of him. When he wakes up, though, he doesn't remember a lot of his memories, so Allie offers to help him, taking him up as a roommate in her cramped apartment, falling in love with his charm, sense of humour... Just everything

As it goes on, though, she slowly begins to understand that Mark, the male, was actually a demon, which was only confirmed after a blood test. Torn between her duty and the love of her life, she eventually decides to turn a blind eye, packing up her things and drugging him so she could leave.

When Mark wakes up the next morning, there is a letter left to him. 

Book 2: Heritage

Mark, now slowly regaining his memories thanks to another demon named Jane, searches for Allie. His travels lead a lot of other demon hunters towards him, knowing that he had a huge bounty on his head. His fighting skills are tested and his memories are brought up once more. Jane assists him as they fight all the way home. 

But when he finally remembers the final pieces of his memory, he is shocked, because he now knows why they had come after him; he was the son to the leader of the Royal Guard, kidnapped when he was a teen.

Jane, revealed to be the one who kidnapped him, admits that the potion she had given him to restore his memories would brainwash his mind of Allie, allowing him to love her only. She then tries to make him take one more, but he manages to escape, resolving to search for Allie now. 

Book 3: Connected

Allie returns to her hometown, seeking solace and healing from her guilt of leaving Mark. There, she indirectly meets Mark's father. He tries to attack her, but the amulet she always wears makes him stop. 

He then tells her his story; about how he was once dispatched to stop a bunch of rogues from killing a small couple living in the woods. However, when he got there, he found them dead, which brought sorrow to him. Regretful, he left his amulet which he was going to give to his son once found as a way to repent, only for Allie to pick it up.

Back in the present, Allie is shocked as she realises that his son is Mark, telling him this as well. His dad is stunned, and urges her to help him find him, which she accepts, starting to warm up to him.

Mark somehow manages to find them after running from Jane, having a teary reunion with his dad before the antagonist arrives and fights them. During the battle, Jane stabs Allie, making her stumble. Mark then ends her, but is unable to stop the poison spreading. In the end, though, Mark decides to take the wounds for himself, and begs Allie to kill him, telling her that his soul would never survive.

That is enough for her and his father to say their goodbyes before she stabs him, watching him fly away into the sky.

A few months later, Allie had quit her job as a demon hunter, and lives normally while trying to keep both humans and demons stable. She ends it with her declaration that she still loved Mark, no matter what.
