"Mao Mao..." 

Rose gripped her fists, looking out from her balcony in the palace of the Sky Pirates. She knew that she didn't love Orangusnake, that her heart was with Mao Mao. 

Yet for everyone's safety, she had to. 

She hated this situation so much, so so much... 

She wished she could die in a hole somewhere, but that wasn't happening. She knew that. 

After all, Mao Mao was dead.

Her hands touched her face, feeling the tears fall down her cheeks. This was all her fault. She had caused Mao Mao's downfall... 

'Hey, Rose, don't feel bad. This was my decision, not yours. Just promise me you'll fight to the end.' 

As Mao Mao's final words echoed in her mind out of nowhere, Rose stopped, and her eyes narrowed. She had come to realise something. 

The voice inside was being silenced by Orangusnake. 

She shut her eyes, deciding to think. If it had been Mao Mao in her position, she knew that he would have fought. He would have been against it. He would have voiced out his feelings. Unlike her, who had given in.

But now, she had to be brave.  She had time to make up for her mistake. 

She had to be courageous. 

She had to speak out. 

Here comes a wave meant to wash me away

A tide that is taking me under

She turned back from her room's balcony, heading inside. 

Swallowing sand, left with nothing to say

My voice drowned out in the thunder

The flame inside was being fanned by the lyrics, and Rose could feel it. Her self-confidence began to grow. 

But I won't cry

And I won't start to crumble

A smile appeared on her face. It was small, but she loved how free she felt. 

Whenever they try

To shut me or cut me down

She burst the doors leaving her room open as she continued singing.

Her eyes were light, shining bright under the lighting in the hallway as she strode proudly through it. She was ready to take on anything.

She walked through the throne room, looking around as she imagined different scenarios. 

Written in stone

Every rule, every word

Centuries-old and unbending

Well, now that story is ending

She closed her eyes, watching the imaginary people fade away. She knew that it was unlikely, but she had to make her own destiny. And she was determined to accomplish that.

The sound of her footsteps made its click clack sounds, leaving the throne room and going to the balcony there, where she moved around. Her dress danced behind her, following her like a loyal puppy in the humid air.

Her eyes shut themselves. For Mao Mao, for all the people in the valley, she would fight the tyrant. 

Her voice's volume rose. She was going to voice it out. She wasn't going to lie to the world that she loved that jerk. She was going to honour her love for Mao Mao. 

Try to lock me in this cage

I will take these broken wings

And watch me burn across the sky

She put all the power she had within to sing as her emotions flew out to tell the world about how she felt.

Her voice grew softer, but her eyes were still hard. 

At that moment, she told herself, "I will not bow down before him. I will win this, for Mao Mao."

The only audience to her singing was the wind, but if she had cared, she wouldn't have begun singing in the first place. 

She was ready to take on the Sky Pirates, in the name of Mao Mao Mao, her one true love.
