"I won't marry you! Never in this life! My heart belongs to Mao Mao!" Rose swung her sword at Orangusnake, a fire dancing in her eyes. 

"Pathetic! He's dead, and nothing will ever change that!" He scoffed, blocking her attack with his own sword. 

The so-called princess growled, but she refused to give up as she kept trying to attack him with all her might. She had let him win once. Never again. She had promised herself to keep fighting even when the darkness seemed overwhelming. 

She owed that to all of the people suffering because of them. 

With a battle cry, she charged and kept up her pressure. She knew that one way or another, he would crack under the pressure. He would fall, because the light would overcome the darkness. 

She knew that better than anyone else. After all, she had been like that until Mao Mao had helped her. 

She would not let him win. He had been ruling for too long. It was time to end this!

Her attacks grew more calculated and faster as she pushed Orangusnake back again and again, using his parries to corner him. Her eyes were narrowed, blocking every attack even in a dress. 

The edge grew near, and she put the sword to his neck as she said, "This is the end of your reign, Orangusnake. Surrender. It is all over. Your reign of terror has ended." 

He laughed, "As if. Mao Mao won't come back because you stop me." 

Her grip grew tighter, and she had to fight back tears. She knew that. She knew that, yet... 

"The likes of you would never understand fighting for the innocent," she spoke. "For the people who died in your hands. For Mao Mao, so he can rest in peace, knowing that the world is safe from villains like you. For my eternal love, I will stop you Sky Pirates, even if it takes my own life." 

With that, she took a step forward, closer to the person who had killed her lover....

And used the hilt of her sword to knock him out. 

He slumped onto the ground, unconscious, and she exhaled. 

The reality of what she had done finally settled in after a while.

She had avenged Mao Mao's death. She had avenged Badgerclops' death, and Adorabat's too. She had made it out of the darkness. 

As the grey skies above slowly began to part, allowing the rays of sunshine to finally hit the earth, Rose Knight, for the first time in her life, fell to her knees and cried out of relief and happiness. 

She had done it. 

She had finally ended this. 

Mao Mao, are you proud of me?

She closed her eyes, and felt the gentle breeze touch her face gently, as if it was Mao Mao himself saying that yes, he was proud of her for this. 

And it only made the tears falling down even more plentiful. 

Mao Mao, I love you.... 

And nothing in the world can change that.
