Bonding in Worrying Times, Part Ten
"Oh great..." Nebok groaned upon seeing his friend rush away after a stranger. "I swear, sometimes Duri can be a handful."
A cute handful.
Blushing once he loaded that, he quickly pushed it down, choosing to go after Duri.
Thankfully, he had done a lot of training beforehand, so his dodges were silky and smooth. If Duri was watching this, he would have flushed, though he wasn't doing it at all. He was way too focused on following the other guy.
And right now, Nebok was following the two of them.
His legs brought him to the spinning teacups, which only served to heighten his alarm bells. Why was the stranger going in here? When the guy rushed past the cashier, ignoring the shout of indignation, it became clear to Nebok that this person was trying to lure Duri somewhere.
Only one person would want to meet him.
Oh no.
He sped up, pushing the agony his legs were feeling. He had to get to Duri before he got captured or tortured or worse!
He couldn't let that happen.
Navy blue eyes soon spotted his friend jumping onto the teacup, trying to snatch some small papers (wait, was that money?) from the spy. However, the person jumped out of it, and pushed him into the cup, locking the door.
He looked around, and cursed. It was secluded.
Well-played Acnee.
His eyes then caught a familiar figure at the control panel room. From the glass, he could see the green eyes of a cat ring on her hand as it moved to start the ride.
His instincts kicked in.
No!
Without much thought, without thinking about the consequences, he rushed there, slamming the door open to see-
"Well well well, look who we have here."
"Acnee," he barely restrained himself from lunging at her, knowing that Duri's safety was first and foremost. He had to get to the control panel.
Lime green eyes bore into his own, a smirk on her face as she turned away from the panel, "Looks like you're finally back."
"Don't play with me. We both know that you knew that I was back," he snarled.
She laughed, "You should have been more discreet with the warning to the Pilots. Not like it'll make any impact, anyway. They'll be too late."
"Whoever said that?"
"I do. Why? Because I'll make sure you're silenced, once and for all."
He scoffed, only for her next words to make his blood run cold.
"Both you and Cha Duri."
