Bonding in Worrying Times, Part Sixteen
"Oh come on, it's just one guy in an entire amusement park. How bad can it be?" He mumbled as he looked around.
"Ah, who am I trying to fool?" He groaned to himself. Clearly he was alone. He couldn't technically fool someone who wasn't there.
Rubbing his forehead, he looked around, keeping his eyes peeled. He had to find him.
"Duri? Where are you?" He called out, uncaring of the consequences. What if Duri was in danger? That would be bad. Horrible. Terrible. Downright terrifying.
He suppressed a shiver. He had to overcome this. For Duri.
The temperature was getting a bit colder, since it was nearing dark, so he knew he had to move quickly. Who knew what kind of trouble Duri's inner trouble magnet would attract?
Navy blue eyes scanned the area, narrowed no thanks to the lack of light in the area. Sheesh, Acnee sure knew how to make it difficult for one to see in the dark.
Wait, was this her doing?
He mulled over it, but was snapped out of it by the sounds of footsteps approaching.
He definitely recognised the voices that came.
"Where could he be?"
"Ah, stupid Pilot! How did he even do that?"
"That was cool, though..."
"Shut up, you!" That was Diluk's whiny voice. "Miss Acnee will not be pleased to hear of this, so stop complimenting the enemy!"
"R-Right, sorry..."
Still cruel to them, huh? It's a wonder these three stuck with him throughout everything.
He quickly snapped out of it once he realised the footsteps were getting closer, and was about to run off when one of the Bikerbots turned the corner and saw him.
"Hey, it's Kim Nebok!"
"What?!" The other three came around as well, eyes wide in disbelief.
Nebok took two steps back, watching them as they stared at him.
He mentally counted down to three before he suddenly spun around and sprung away, leaving them in his dust.
"Y-YA! COME BACK HERE YOU!"
"As if I would listen to you Diluk," he mumbled under his breath, feeling a bit triumphant over them as he ran off.
