Bonding in Worrying Times, Part Nine
Where was Nebok?
Duri slid his way through the crowd, trying to find his partner in the vast amusement park they were in. It was definitely not easy, since it was a Sunday. The off-work day. Family day.
It was a surprise that he wasn't being hit by nostalgia of spending time with his brother, especially in such a crowded place. But he was too focused on finding Nebok.
He had to admit that he had been cowardly. Instead of facing that point of his life as Aruki and Makho had taught him, he had run, leaving Nebok hurt.
He had to fix this mistake. No matter what it took.
Adjusting his glasses, he tried to find some vantage point. He had to find a way to locate him.
He scowled a bit. This was like looking for a needle in a haystack!
Wait.
His eyes noticed the ferris wheel.
It hit him. Of course! He could use the ferris wheel to find out where to go!
He quickly checked his pockets, trying to check if he had enough money for the ride.
As his hands pulled the paper money out, though, someone bumped into him, having been running at top speed.
He stumbled to the ground, wincing when his back began throbbing slightly due to the impact.
He rubbed his forehead, trying to get the feeling of numbness out of his head while doing a check over himself. Body? Check. Knife? Check. Glasses? Okay and good, so big check. Money?
He stopped.
His eyes widened.
Immediately, his head swivelled around to find the hooded person who had bumped into him running away towards the rollercoaster.
No! That couldn't happen!
Gaining some new momentum, he sprung up and used the new energy coursing through his veins. He had to go after him!
He sprinted after the guy, unaware of the reckless thing he had just done.
Why?
Because a few minutes later, Nebok popped up, sweating but nearby.
