An Eternal Surprise

"Where on Earth are we going?"

Dimentio clearly had to learn to control his urges, because his face had this grin that clearly told of horrifying tales for the weak-hearted, "Just a bit more, my bunny. Just a bit more."

"Your definition of a bit is definitely beyond the normal definition," Ms. L was salty today, it seemed. Well, who wouldn't be when their beauty sleep was interrupted by an idiotic genius named Fawful? She preferred Dimentio over that wacko, for sure. For one, Dimentio was charming and didn't care whether she messed up. However, Fawful was an arrogant genius with love for himself, not for others unless they gave him something useful in return.

This was the case with when he had woken her up by boasting all about himself in front of her, even though he clearly knew that she HATED it with a burning passion. She preferred listening to other things aside from that. Boasting, especially from Fawful, was an earsore to her.

Thus the situation right now, with Ms. L being led by her lover to an unknown place, with only Dimentio's hands to guide over her blindfolded eyes.

Being in this situation made her uncomfortable. She trusted her Jester with all her heart, but she was worried. She didn't want to end up in a bad position. What if he was cheating on her and wanted to get rid of her?

Unknowingly, the male noticed her gripping the hem of her skirt. Nervous. Worried. Scared.

And that didn't sit well with him. He didn't like seeing her so unlike herself. He wasn't all that good with comforting, but....

He just pecked her cheek, "Nothing bad will happen. I guarantee that. You trust me, right?"

"Of course I do!" Ms. l indignantly replied.

"Then trust me with this," his tone held sincerity. Sincerity he hadn't felt in a long time. Not since he confessed to her.

Feeling this, Ms. L couldn't help but blush, matching her pink outfit. Even if she was still anxious, at least most of it had been soothed by her lover. He truly was a kind and caring person; another reason why she loved him, "O-Okay then."

"Thank you, Ms. L," he patted her cheek lightly. He was truly blessed to be able to be with her. Even though they were still villains, at least they had each other. This fact was the reason why they were still on good terms with Lianna the Bunny, her counterpart who had allowed Ms. L to separate from her. Although she had lost a small part of her original personality, she was glad for the two lovers who could be together.

The lime bunny flushed scarlet. Every single compliment still made her heart flutter, no matter what time or day it was. He knew the buttons, and he pushed them everyday out of satisfaction and pure eros. He showed his storge everyday, and she loved that, "N-No problem, Dimon."

Dimon was a mix between Dimentio and Demon, his codename when fighting heroes. Fawful had suggested it after making their new outfits for their collaboration, and Dimentio had only agreed after Ms. L declared how much she liked this. This brought a smile to his face as he continued leading her towards his surprise. Thankfully he had tweaked her phone so she wouldn't know the true date of today. February 14th, also known as Valentine's Day. Yep. That was the exact reason why he had specifically asked Fawful; to get the venue ready.

Dimentio couldn't help but admire his handiwork when they finally reached the spot. It was a candlelit dinner on a hot air balloon, which had the food ready in a thermos-like container, which was one of Fawful's creations, AKA his "baby". Red and pink adorned the balloon, with hearts spread all over it. Their couple photos back in Castle Bleck had been painted on it, boldly announcing their love for each other. The table itself was a picture taken straight out of  a romance novel. At the sides, the candles became the thing that kept the hot air balloon floating.

"Alright, my sweetheart. We have arrived," he declared, swiftly removing the blindfold and letting the white handkerchief fall to the ground as Ms. L finally saw his hard work.

Ms. L was astounded. Tears, touched ones, fell from her cheeks. Never had she seen something this grand and exquisite before... Yet it reeked of sincerity.

She didn't mind, of course, "Dimon.... You did this... For me?"

"Of course! I even tweaked your phone just to lull you into time disorientation AND called Fawful to wake you up. I apologise for that, of course, but it was necessary," he smiled regretfully.

"Oh Dimentio..." She hugged him, still crying. "I-It's simply wonderful! How can I ever thank you?"

"You can thank me by honouring me with your presence in our candlelit dinner," he soothed her.

"Very well then! Let us go to the sky!" She cheered.

The jester proceeded to help her into the balloon, loosening the rope that tethered it to the ground. The two then watched in amazement as the balloon rose, slowly but surely, into the evening sky. Orange and red reflected their photos, sprinkled with glitter so that if one squinted hard enough, they could see the paintings positively glowing in the orange, purple and scarlet red sky. The colours could only match their feelings watching from the place itself.

Eventually, they had their romantic dinner, eating Valentine dishes Fawful had dished out from who knows where. They were delicious, and Ms. L couldn't help but eat them as much as she could while attempting to retain her elegant posture. She knew that Dimentio was supposed to the elegant one, but she could at least try, right?

Time flew by, and it was soon nearing sunset. They had finished quickly, so they had resorted to watching it happen.

"The scenery is so stunning...." Ms. L murmured. "Please keep scenes like this when you finally succeed in your goals."

He coughed, trying to control his beating heart after hearing that,
"Why don't you do that on your own?" Poor Dimentio had a nervous stomach now, home to the most dangerous butterflies in the world. He knew that he had rehearsed it so many times in the mirror, but it was the day. He knew it was the time.

He took in a deep breath. He could do this. He was Dimentio, ex-humble servant of Count Bleck! He feared nothing! He was scared of nothing!

"Huh?" Ms. L blinked at her, jasper-emerald eyes confused. What was he talking about?

"After all, you will be a queen soon. MY queen," Dimentio suddenly got up and went to his knees, revealing a ring box. When he opened it, a stunning emerald ring was shown, making her gasp in shock.

"Ms. L, you are the shining gem of my life. Like the sun and the clouds, perfect for each other. Because of that, I want you to be mine. Forever. So, will you marry me, and make me the happiest jester in the world, Ms. L?"

There it was. It was out now.

He had proposed.

Now all he had to do was wait-

"Of course!" Ms. L tackled him into a hug, nearly knocking him off balance and to the ground. She was crying again, but not because she was touched.

No, it was of happiness.

Ms. L had never felt much happiness. As Lianna's dark side, she had never been given love. But Dimentio had loved her. Cared for her.

And she loved him.

And so, she accepted, allowing Dimentio to put the ring he had made with loving care on her ring finger.

Thus, their story as lovers ended.

But their story as king and queen, their beginning, started at that point.
