A Shining Phantom
There he was, shining in the sunlight with a coy smile on his face. A light yellow scarf covered his nose, showing his signature arrogant smirk as he looked down at me. Aquamarine eyes stared at me, while he played with the Happiness Jewel, innocently reflecting the Earth's main source of energy as it passed through his fingers. The sunrise shone behind him, making it seem as if his lemon hair was glowing neon.
Meanwhile, my hands were clutching my gun, aiming it at his legs as a silent warning of the consequences. My blue-black eyes returned his gaze, my lips a straight line as the wind gently blowed on my carmine hair tied into a ponytail.
The atmosphere was tense and silent.
None of us talked or spoke.
We only stared into each other's eyes.
After a long silence, the Smiling Thief Illuminoct finally spoke, tone laced with elegance, "I don't think I got your name, greenhorn."
"Corporal Camellia to you, Smiling Thief Illuminoct," I snapped back. "And I'm not a greenhorn."
"You're the 65th person to come after my case, so that's what I'm calling you for now," he smirked at me, as if I would just accept it.
But I did, "Hey! Use my name will you?! Show some respect!"
At that, his eyes opened up slightly, showing his shock, before it reverted back to his smirk, "Oh? This is the first time someone has ever dared to reply to me like that."
"I like being original, so I'll take that as a compliment," I grinned seeing the surprise in his eyes.
He tried to hide it, but it was still obvious, "Y-You are quite interesting."
"Thank you. Now, give me back the jewel so no one will get hurt," I demanded.
His eyes grew lazy as he rolled his eyes, "As if I would-"
My hands pulled the trigger, changing at the last moment to his hand that held the jewel, making him screech in pain as he stumbled back, blood flying out of his wound. The jewel fell to the ground, which I lunged for.
I managed to snatch it, holding it up victoriously as I got up again, turning to the Smiling Thief.
Only to find him gone.
I nearly shouted in shock and anger, but I quickly calmed myself down before I sighed, "Well, at least the jewel's safe."
Unknown to me, though, he was watching me from afar.
"Heee~ What an interesting person~" he hummed.
"This is interesting," he noted. "Looks like my heists will finally get some taste."
A small smile played on his lips, before he disappeared, leaving no trace of his whereabouts.
