The world they lived in was not as fantastic as one filled with magic would probably be. In a world where people manifested powers that were almost supernatural called Blessings and lived side by side with supernatural beings, discrimination still happened. Evil still reigned.

After all, humanity would always mess up in any world...

But their story didn't begin there.

No, their story began with their meeting that fateful day.

Angry tears fell down his cheeks as he curled up into a ball, trying to hide from the pain that plagued his chest.

Bakugou Katsuki didn't like admitting it when he was hurting, but that was what he was feeling at the moment. Everyone hated his Blessing. They called it a Curse instead of a Blessing. They called him a Witch when he wanted to be a Warlock.

He felt utterly alone. He felt like the world had turned against him, leaving him to die, all alone, without a friend in a screwed-up world.

He knew that he had ONE, but he doubted Izuku would want to be his friend after he nearly killed Aunt Inko during one of their spats.

Bakugou Katsuki knew he was alone now, with no friends, no one to love him.

"Hey, you okay?" a new unfamiliar voice asked him.

He blinked, and looked up to face an orange-haired girl around his age.

"W-What do you want?" he snapped, trying to wipe away the tears.

"Are you okay?" she repeated her question. "You seem to be in pain."

"W-What do you care?" he growled back.

"Rude," she scoffed. "Can't you at least let me know your name, kid?"

"Wha-- We're the same age I think!" he got up, glaring at her with all his might. "But I'm Bakugou Katsuki, you extra!"

"Heh, I see. I'm Tsubaki Lila," she smirked, doing a mock bow. "Nice to meet you, Bakugou. My Blessing is Flames. I can use fire, and if I focus hard enough, I can send someone in whatever direction I want it to go at a high speed. It's still a work in progress, though. What about yours?"

At that, he froze up slightly before mumbled, "It's more of a Curse... but it's Meteor Lava..."

She blinked, and tilted her head, "What does it do?"

He gave a slight start, but quickly regained his composure as he said, "My body is hot. And when it generates liquids on my skin, it becomes lava balls that can be made into meteors if I try hard enough."

"And you call that a Curse why?" she asked.

He blinked. Now he was confused. What did she mean? "H-Huh?"

"What makes you say it's a Curse?" she repeated her statement. "It's only a Curse if you use it for malicious purposes."

"B-But--"

"What matters is why and how you use your Blessing," she stated. "What others say about it doesn't matter. It matters how you make this so-called Curse into a Blessing. Do you want to help others with this power?" 

"O-Of course!" he shot up, getting to his feet again. "I want to be a Warlock that saves others and be the Grand Warlock like Joobusa!" 

Joobusa, who was well-known all across the Kingdoms for being the greatest Grand Warlock! 

Katsuki wanted to be that kind of person. To go beyond his own boundaries and to reach the stars!

Lila grinned, "Great! Let's be friends then!" 

He scoffed, but grinned back as he held his fist out, "Try to catch up then, extra!" 

She laughed and joined her fist with his. 

That day, Katsuki gained a new friend who taught him that powers aren't either Blessings or Curses. They're only called that because of their user. 

And he was going to forge his own path. With his Blessing and his new friend, he was going to be the best Warlock!
