Rainy Days | Slenderman x Reader

(Warnings: assault, murder, and slight gore)

Third Person Perspective

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
This never seemed to be an unusual situation; ever since they had moved to the small town, the rainy days increased and the sun only seemed to shine for an hour of the afternoon. Sun showers were common, but not today. 50 shades of gray tinted the sky as the rain pounded against (Y/n)'s bedroom window.
A sigh escapes the woman's lips as she continues cleaning her room. (Y/n) was planning on having company after all, and if there was one thing she didn't like, it was having her lover on days like these scold her for a messy room. The rain always brought her down: making her either sad or tired.
The young woman met her mysterious lover 3 months ago, after she first moved. (Y/n) had always had a knack for reading and learning new languages; and if there was one thing she loved doing it was reading old books. She had found herself in the library when the handsome stranger found her.
(Y/n) remembered his smile as he offered to give her some of his old books, the only problem: she'd have to meet him at the edge of the woods. She didn't mind of course, he had seemed nice enough.
A chill ran up her spine as she remembered the day. She remembered him gently grabbing her wrist, leaning in close, before he began beating on her and trying to get her down on the ground.
'My mistake.' She told herself, 'my mistake for trusting a stranger.'
She remembered his relentlessness, it never seemed to end. That was, until she managed to get back up and hit him back. The man hadn't entirely tricked her though, he did bring books.
"The Slenderman" one was labeled in a barely legible language. (Y/n) furrowed her brows at the book, brushing the cover with her thumb. She heard the man get up, but when she looked up, she found him impaled: blood slowly trickling out of his mouth.
Her hand covered her mouth to conceal a scream as she looked toward the creature. Slowly, she turned the book and pointed at it.
"A-are you the S-S-Slender-ma-man...?" She asked, her voice shaking in fear. Slowly, the creature tilted his head. The man slid off the black tendril before the creature knelt down and took the book from her.
"You can read this?" He asked, but with his lack of a mouth (Y/n) could only assume he spoke telepathically. Her head nodded as she stared rudely at the creature, only tearing her eyes away when he seemed to turn his 'gaze' back to her. "Curious... this is a dead language."
The creature rose to his feet and returned the book about him to the woman, as well as the other which was a fable written in the same dead language. The creature disappeared and (Y/n) ran home.
It was the next night when (Y/n) was reading when the creature returned. She remembered him just sitting beside her, on a rainy day like this one, and asking her about the books and how much she's read and knows. It was then that their relationship blossomed. Barely a month later, he asked her to be his 'romantic partner' (his words not hers).
Now, (Y/n) stood staring at a picture smiling. Perhaps rainy days aren't so bad... at least when he's here.
When (Y/n) turned, she found her inhuman lover standing there, flowers in hand. A bright smile took over her lips as she gave him a long hug and a quick kiss.
"You are in quite a good mood?" Slender inquired, brushing his thumb against her cheek. (Y/n) could only smile, a deep appreciation growing in her chest.
"I love you." She spoke, a second thought not required. In that moment, the tapping of the rain seemed to align with her beating heart and the day could never be better than it was now.
"I love you too." He replied, placing a lipless kiss on her forehead. "And I know you don't like these days, but they bring me the fondest of memories. (Y/n) (L/n), I know this is quite forward, but: will you marry me?"
In that moment, all she felt was warmth. The ring didn't need diamonds, the glistening droplets of rain were more precious to her than diamonds. Gray would become a shade that brought her tranquility, and the slight chill would always remind her of the slight chill that ran through her body when that cold metal ring slipped perfectly onto her finger.
After this day, (Y/n) found herself appreciating rainy days more. For they were one of the best times to spend with the Slenderman, her Slenderman.
