Before The Adventure Part 1

It was a peaceful day in New York City. A young man going by the nickname Reptile Dude entered his new pet shop, Lizard's Luxury. Reptile Dude had always been interested in working on a pet shop but exclusive to reptiles. This had always been his life project since he was twelve. His father was a construction worker and as a only child, Reptile Dude was spoiled rotten but in a good way. Ever since he held a snake, he wanted to run a pet store to allow others to find  a perfect home for the reptiles. His father had been working hard to convert a abandoned coffee shop into the pet store his son always dreamed of. Every day after school Reptile Dude would check on his fathers work. But due to his busy schedule with more professional businesses, the store was always delayed. So it was finally today it would finally be complete. Reptile Dude was happy. The day of his dreams would become true! Suddenly, a truck horn was herd outside. Reptile Dude went outside to see the trucks unloading plenty of tanks with different reptiles in them. He looked at all of them. They all looked so relaxed but nervous as well. Reptile Dude watched as the men brought the tanks inside. After a hour or so, all the tanks were brought in and put around the building.
"Thank you so much." Reptile Dude said shaking the helpers hand.
"Your welcome. We wish you good luck." He responded. Reptile Dude sat at his desk. He just had to wait on the customers! Three hours passed and no one came. Reptile Dude sighed. "Is this how all businesses start?" He thought to himself. He decided to look at the reptiles he was given. Two geckos were the first ones he checked out. The yellow one looked lazy but the moment Reptile Dude decided to pet it, it hoped to another corner with a grey one.
"Interesting." Reptile Dude thought as he checked out a chameleon. He lastly a iguana. When he tried to interact with it, it whacked him with his tail. A sign that Reptile Dude should leave this one alone. Reptile Dude knew his selection of pets was small because he had to save money to fix the shop if he needed it to be fixed and to of course by more reptiles. Reptile Dude walked over to his desk and sat in his chair. Hours upon hours passed without a single customer.
"Wow. Running a self owned business is tough." Reptile Dude sighed starting to drift asleep. He always had a dream. Now that he got it, was it worth it? He then fell asleep. He then woke up to the sound of thunder.
"What the? The weather forecast said it would be sunny all day?" Reptile Dude wondered out loud. He went outside to see a building across the street. To Reptile Dude's surprise, this building wasn't here even a minute ago. Yet it was completely built and looked open. He went to check the store name.
"Myths and Monsters. Is that a pet store?" Reptile Dude asked himself looking at the large line of people in front of the store. Reptile Dude ran over to a person in line.
"Since when was this store here?" Reptile Dude asked.
"It's been here for about three minutes. But they sell real myths!" The person explained. "But mythological creatures don't exist. That's what makes them mythological." Reptile Dude pointed out.
"Well these ones do. Sorry if your lame business can't compete with that." The person said pointing to a girl who bought a Pegasus. "What? How? This must be a bad dream." Reptile Dude groaned smacking himself. He was then distracted when he saw his building get hit by lightning.
"What are the odds?! Why me?!" Reptile Dude cried running over to his building. He saw a fire starting from inside the building. Luckily, the rain was now falling so fast that it was putting out the fire. The place might've been on fire before, but within a minute, the building was nothing more than a pile of burnt wood. "No! My business. My dream. Gone." Reptile Dude cried.
"Hey buddy. Is there anything we can help you with?" A yellow anthropomorphic gecko asked.
