Four
Third person's POV
Romeo had no idea what was going on, a day earlier he was in the small college town that he grew up in heading to college classes as well as to football practice now he was in Italy, in a house that had things far too opulent for him to even breath by owned by the father his mother had taken him away from, he met a sister his mother birthed then left. He met a younger brother that was just as tall and built as him even though he was six years younger, the only difference was that Luciano still had a baby face.
This was all so bizarre.
It was obvious this family was into shady things, Livia had hinted at so much and seeing all the security around this place just cemented the fact.
There were pictures of him up on the walls, not just one or two but so many documenting the first few years of his life, there were some of just him, some with him and his brothers, some with Livia and some with his biological father. All the photos were hung up in between photos of Livia and Luciano at school and a lot of two other kids, Romeo was guessing Vincenzo and Allegra his father's stepchildren. There were a lot more of the four other kids mainly because those photos had accumulated throughout the years, there were photos of babies, kids, and teens, at school, and events. Just family portraits.
But there wasn't even one with his mother.
He was sure from how many photos there were with him as a baby there would be at least a handful with his mother.
Like the kids could read his mind Luciano turned back. "The ones with your mom are at Livy's grandparents' house, I guess your grandparents too. But your mother's parents."
"You've met our grandparents?" Martino asks the kid. Their mother hadn't mentioned any family, and always got upset when they asked so they just assumed she had none.
How wrong they were.
"I mean yeah, they always come to see Livy, they're nice they always took me on outings when they were taking Liv and her cousins from that side and got me Christmas presents." Luca led them through a set of double doors. "Okay, this is the West wing where you guys will be staying. There are between five and eight bedrooms, each wing spread across two floors. And on the bottom floor, there's a movie theatre and an arcade. I share the East wing with Allegra. Livia stays in the North wing with Vincenzo. Mom and dad stay in the South wing. You guys will stay here and your parents and sister will too unless they want to stay in the guest house."
"Do you each have your own wing?" Matteo asks, this rich people thing was weird.
"Yup. The house has three stories, there are four bedrooms on the upper two floors. So I have the third floor of the east wing and I can do what I want with the rooms and if I have guests over they stay there. Liv had the third floor as well but in the north wing, she had her bedroom and office and a couple of other things she got dad to break down all the walls and she just had this one massive space, it's pretty cool. Dad won't do it for me though and I haven't mastered Livi's pout." Luciano rambles.
"Does your dad favour Livia?" Martino asks, curiously.
"No, I mean they have a special bond but that's because it was just them for so long. And besides, they work together Liv is going to take over dad's job one day so she had shadowed him his whole life. Livia just gets what she wants because dad can't say no to her. I think it's guilt for the whole situation with your mother though. And also this will be Livy's house in the future when she takes over the family business from dad."
It was clear that Luciano Kirsian Di Vittorio lacked any sort of filter.
"Just cut me off if I overshare, sometimes my brain can't tell the difference between when I'm just speaking or thinking out loud. Part of the reason I could never do dad's job."
"And what is Angelo's job?" Dante pried and Luciano looked nervous.
"Umm, I'm pretty sure he's telling you that himself. Even I know to shut up and not spread that information around." Luciano turned around and moved closer to the doors. "You can choose any bedroom in this area, but don't go past the double doors to the other living spaces, Allie and I don't mind but Livy and Enzo don't like people in their space especially because they deal with business there sometimes, and between us do not get on either of their bad sides, it will just make life awful for you."
Luciano's phone buzzed and when he read the message he frowned.
"If you leave out the way we came in and take your first right and then the third left you will be in the dining room, dinner is at seven and don't be late."
"Okay, everyone else does think this is weird right?" Martino asks into the silence, all watching the door their brother left out of.
"Yes." The replies were simultaneous.
"Okay great, we all agree. Let's pick bedrooms and then we can chat."

The four men did not have that chat, every single one of them promptly passed out as soon as their heads hit the very comfortable beds and were woken up hours later by Luciano.
"Uhh you guys are late for dinner, your mother is freaking out since she thinks dad locked you up in a tower somewhere or murdered you." Luca scoffed at the absurdity. "Doesn't she know dad would never do that, that is more Livy's type of thing?"
The more the men learnt about this family the more it made their heads spin.
Luciano led them through the cream hallways, decorated with pretty artwork, a lot of them signed by the kids that had lived under this roof. He stopped at one of the doors and opened it to reveal a long dining room table. Their sister sat to their father's right and another boy sat opposite her but a chair down, the place looked like it was reserved for someone, they were guessing Angelo's wife. Their mother and step-father sat further down the table, their mother's eyes were trained on Livia but she acted like she never even noticed, chatting easily to the guy opposite her.
"I found them." Luciano declared. "They were all fast asleep, not that I blame them, they were all looking rough."
"Luc," Angelo warns slightly at his bluntness but Luciano pays no mind taking his seat next to Livia.
The men spread out taking seats closer to their mother, their mother's eyes scanned them over and once making sure they weren't hurt she looked satisfied.
"Finally," Hayley muttered looking at them. "You all just disappeared."
"Sorry, Hay." Dante apologised to his step-sister due to them being so close in age, they were the closest, just as the twins were.
Angelo cleared his throat as a way to get everyone's attention. "So you all have met Livy, and I think most of you have met Luc. But I would also like to introduce you to my other son, Vincenzo, Allegra and my wife should be back tomorrow as well for you to meet them."
Vincenzo nodded in greeting, he looked like he was scanning them just like Livia and Luciano had done earlier. It was like they had all been trained to look for the same things. Even though Luciano looked exactly like his dad you could also see the resemblance between him and Vincenzo.
Vincenzo had black hair that almost fell over his eyes and the brightest blue eyes. He was tall and very muscular, he was wearing a suit like Angelo was except he was all black with no tie leaving the top few buttons undone. Livia had also changed into something pretty business formal that she hadn't been in earlier.
"Nice to finally meet you." Vincenzo nodded before turning back to Livia. The two of them were talking softly in Italian.
"You know it's rude to talk in front of people in languages they don't understand," Delia commented.
"Mom." Romeo reprimanded softly, he was shocked since she had never acted like this before.
"You speak Italian." Livia pointed out. "So you know we weren't discussing anything wrong, we were just catching up. And besides Italian is my first language, we are in Italy."
The boys were surprised at how easily Livia said what was on her mind and how she wasn't scared of confrontation, a lot of the time growing up they were taught to keep their thoughts to themselves, especially with people older than them, but it didn't even seem that Angelo cared, their mother must have thought the same thing so she sent him a pointed look.
"What are you looking at me like that for, Delia? She is an adult and she can talk how she wants."
"She lives under your roof, she should be respectful."
"I'm l'erede."The heir Livia said to their mother. "This is my house just as much as it is his."
A pained look crossed their mother's face. "You have a son."
"And my daughter is just as capable," Angelo replied, a stern look on his face. "Things have changed since you left Delia, she was sworn in on her birthday."
Everyone was confused, but all the Di Vittorio as well as their mother seemed to know what was going on.
"There's nothing I can do." Delia sighed painfully trying to accept the fact, and the boys frowned not knowing what was wrong.
Livia stood up, Vincenzo following her. "There is nothing I want you to do, this is my birthright as much as it is any of the others." Livia rounded the table saying something to her father in Italian before leaving the room.
"Be safe," Luciano called out behind her, his mouth stuffed with the pasta they were eating.
"Always Fratello." Brother
Angelo sighed as he watched his daughter's and step-son retreating figure before looking at the four boys. "Now that that's over if you can, would the four of you come to my office when you finish eating, Luca will take you."
