A/N- Rewritten, 1/6/20

Today would be big, today was going to change your life. Today- you knew- would be the start of your journey into being an adult. You'd be making big decisions, you'd be facing difficult tasks. College.

You had dreamed of going to college for years, ever since you were a little kid. You saw all these amazing people changing the world, and you wanted to be like them. One of the main people was George Washington, who owned a college by the name of 'Kings College.' The school was located in DC, and you craved to be there- to show everyone how you could make an impact and be just as intelligent as the other people out there.

Your whole life you had been silenced, not intentionally- you weren't abused. Your parents were just strict.

But, as an adult- your voice was expected to be heard. And you were excited for that time. You knew you needed to prepare, otherwise you would fail to make an impact- which is why you had been so obsessed with this college and with the intellectual people who changed this Earth.

A big, maroon backpack hung on your doorknob. You yanked it off and started packing. You already had most of your things packed in boxes that were to be shipped to the dorms, but you needed to pack things to keep you entertained on the plane ride there- and also needed to pack minor things for the while you didn't have a dorm.

You packed some books, art supplies, fidget toys, a few granola bars, a big water bottle, earbuds, and a phone charger. "It's not a lot, but it should be enough to hold me over till' I get to my dorm and am able to unpack." You thought, swinging the bag 'round your shoulder.

When you left, you'd be meeting your friends and traveling together. Your friends were John, Hercules, Lafayette and Alexander.

John Lauren's was your closest friend, the man was 5"7 and had brown, curly, long hair. Freckles splattered across his face like thousands of stars echoing through space. His eyes were a hazel green color, and shined in the light beautifully. He was the kindest person you'd ever met, and obsessed over nature- specifically underwater creatures. He also had a natural talent for art- traditional art, more specifically.

Hercules was a really good friend, you'd known him for a few years now. He had black, short, curly hair and dark skin. He liked to wear different bandanas, he owned at least ten different colors of them. Hercules enjoyed making clothes, and loved cracking dirty jokes- even at awful times.

Lafayette was a petite, short French man with black curly hair stuck up in a bun at all times. He was loud, friendly, and enjoyed socializing. He was also really involved in the LGBT+ community, talking about it all the time. He was really passionate about it.

Alex was short and skinny, basically a twig. He was loud, sometime grumpy- addicted to coffee and works too much. A big book addict, he spends 99.9% of the time reading, studying and doing homework. He's still cool, though. He was shorter than you- probably around 5"3. He had silky brown hair that was often messy and thrown into a ponytail. Alex wore baggy clothes and also loved listening to the Beatles.

You still had about an hour until you had to meet up with your buddies to head to the plane- so you decided to spend some time with your family beforehand.

Around forty minutes later, you received a text- wanting to check it, you excused yourself from the living room and headed into the hallway near your bedroom. Opening your phone, you saw the text had come from a new group chat you had been added into.

Alexander: Alright, we all should meet each other and get ready to head to the airport soon. I was thinking we could meet at the closest cafe, it's a few minutes away from the airport- practically walking distance. It'd be the quickest option.

Hercules: Sounds good, Laf and I will drive over there. Send us the location.

John: Okay. Send me it to me too.

As you went to type a message into the chat, John texted you privately. You opened up the message.

John: Hey Y/N, do you want me to pick ya up? Just lemme know

Y/N: Sure

Y/N: Text me when you're here

You sent the message and then shoved your phone into your pocket. Walking back to the living room, you explained to your parents that you would be leaving soon. They said okay and you hugged them, sitting back on the couch and talking with them until John arrived.

John: Here, come out

You saw John's message immediately and said goodbye to your parents. Holding your bag, you walked out the door. Your parents smiled behind you.

John was in his car, a black Lamborghini. 'What a show off.'  You thought, smirking.

You walked up to his car and got into the passengers seat, John looked at you- "Hi." he said. You greeted him back. After buckling your seatbelt, he backed out of the driveway and began to drive towards the cafe. You could hear his GPS go off every forty seconds.

Looking out of the car window, you saw rain begin to fall gently. You didn't mind the rain, it was peaceful- you enjoyed it. Everyone thought you were weird for doing so, but frankly you didn't care. The sun was hot, and it made everything hard to see.

"So, you excited?" John asked. You immediately nodded, "Hell yes I am!"

The two of you talked about your shared excitement for at least seven minutes, going back and forth about what the teachers will be like, how the students will be, how the dorms will be, etc.

Suddenly, John slammed on the breaks. You looked forwards, a bald man was standing in front of your car. John looked annoyed, but also had fear in his eyes- he was close to hitting him! He appeared out of nowhere.

The bald man approached John's car. He locked the car doors and rolled down the window. "Erm, hello?" John awkwardly greeted the man. The man slurred some random words in which you couldn't make out. Most likely a greeting of some sorts.

He acted odd, maybe he was under the influence of something? As you squinted your eyes, you started to recognize him more. He looked like Aaron Burr. You went to Elementary School together, but that was a blur for you. It was hard to remember anything from that time.

"I..I- can.. car.. wash, car.. yes." Aaron mumbled. John looked confused. "Erm, sorry sir- we don't need a carwash. We're kinda in a hurry, actually." You chimed in.

"CARWASH!" Aaron began to screech. John swerved around Aaron and began to drive away- you could hear Aaron yelling random gibberish as you left.

"RELEASE THE HOT MAN. CARWASH TIME BABEY. CAR WASH TIME. CARS. CAR. RELEASE."

"What the fuck." John mumbled, laughing. You laughed too, it was extremely funny- after all.

John took a right turn and there you saw the cafe. Parking, you two hopped out of the car and went inside. It smelt of coffee and baked goods.

"Mon Ami!" A familiar male voice with a deep french accent called out, you whipped around and smiled as you saw Laf. "Hey!" You greeted, running up to him and giving him a hug. John kinda stood there awkwardly, but after a couple seconds he walked up and greeted Hercules and Alexander.

"Y/N, can you and Alex go order?" Hercules asked. You nodded and Alexander stood up. Everyone told you guys what they wanted, Alexander had the memory of a hawk so you didn't think forgetting would be an issue.

You walked up to the register and ordered, Alexander telling you what everyone wanted. You relayed the info to the barista, who nodded and told you your total. $19. You pulled out your wallet to pay, it wasn't too expensive after all.

You were thanked and you went to sit down, waiting for the drinks to arrive. John and Laf struck up a conversation, so you turned to Alex and decided to talk to him. (A/N: Poor Hercules)

"So, whats been up little lion?" You asked, Alex looked up and shrugged. "Not much, actually. I've just been reading a lot- studying."

"Erm- we, we haven't been in school though?"

Alex grunted and opened his book. You rolled your eyes and turned to Hercules, "What've you been doing?"

Silence.

Silence.

Silence.

"Your mom-" Hercules muttered. You slapped him.

(A/N: Gonna cut it off here for now! 1458 words. I've been working on this for two days now. I strayed further from the original events than I expected to, I hope you like it so far.)
