Chapter 13 - Portals
Chapter 13 - Portals

(We're just gonna put Hermitcraft first for this chapter... -Pleb)
Hermitcraft / Empires SMP
Grian skimmed the index until he found a word that had something to do with revival. Reviving. Page 504. The blond flipped to the page and began reading it out loud.
"The act of reviving someone is a risky action. And an extremely complicated one. It involves a couple of sacrifices. On a specific type of paper, you must use the blood of a God to write the full name of the person you want to revive. The paper is called the Kebangkitan Paper."
"That's what the Revival Book pages are made of," Dream commented.
"What?" Grian asked. "How do you know?"
"Jschlatt told me when he gave me the book."
Grian looked at Dream, but choose not to question as he continued.
"After you write the name, you must also include the following:
- The symbol of a Watcher in Watcher blood
- The symbol of a time traveler that is drawn in the time traveler's own blood
- The symbol of someone who owns the ability kill and the ability to revive (They may not be the same person, so you might have to draw two symbols)
- The blood of someone who was or is a ghost
- The blood of someone who is evidently the child of two entirely different people
Doing this correctly should revive the person whose name is written in blood. If you wish to revive more than one person, however, more blood and bigger symbols of said people are required.
But before you start reviving, you must be careful. The symbols and the name have to be in a specific order. If done wrong, the resucuration won't work and instead, you will die.
You must be warned...This is extremely risky and the possibilities of messing up are extremely high."
"That doesn't even make sense," Grian said aloud. "I was looking for a solution with Watcher magic, not one with this weird paper sacrifice thing."
"Well that's all I found!" Dream said, annoyed.
Grian shook his head. "No. I refuse to believe it. There HAS to be a way with Watcher magic. They're way too powerful to not have something on it."
Dream got even more annoyed. "Well maybe it's forbidden knowledge to Watchers! Look, I have the revival book already. This is easier!"
The Hermit sighed. "You don't get it, do you? This knowledge isn't from our world. This is from your world. Who knows what'll happen? Things could go terribly wrong!"
"WELL THIS IS ALL WE HAVE!!!" Dream yelled. "WILL YOU JUST GIVE IT A CHANCE?!"
Grian shook his head again. "No! This seems too risky! Watcher magic is dangerous sure, but it can do pretty much anything! At least if there's a way with Watcher magic we'll know for SURE it'll work. It even says it's risky."
Dream yelled at him again. "BUT THIS IS STILL ALL WE HAVE, TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT!"
The two continued arguing. That's when George stepped in.
"Alright enough!" Dream and Grian looked at him. "Dream, he's right. Watcher magic is more guaranteed than this. But don't get so worked up. Grian, Dream's right too. This is all we have. Maybe it's worth giving a shot?"
Grian nodded with a sour face.
George sighed. "Grian, it asks for Watcher blood. You're a Watcher."
"I have a different idea," The blond said. "Sure, I have Watcher blood in me, but the blood of a born Watcher is more powerful. Plus, only born Watchers know where to extract the special Watcher blood. I'm not one, so I have no idea where it is. However, I might know who can help us."
Dream looked even more annoyed than he already was. "But you already have Watcher blood. Why do we need to find a born Watcher to do this?"
"Because blood from a born Watcher is more powerful. It gives us a stronger chance of working." Grian said.
"And how do you know that?"
"Read it in a book once. Now let's go get Xavier."
After 30 minutes of looking, they found Xavier working on the main town building.
"What do you three want?" Xavier asked.
Grian sighed. "Where does your mum live?"
Xavier was shocked. "Why do you need to know where she lives? I'm not telling you!"
"DO WANT YOUR BROTHER BACK OR NOT?!" Grian shouted.
"Fine!" Xavier said in fear. "I won't tell you, but I'll take you there." Xavier sighed. "But I can't do it alone."
"What do you mean?" Grian asked.
"We need someone who is the descendant of two people who are entirely different from each other."
"What do you mean by that?"
"Well, say that, for example, two parents are a skeleton and a zombie. We need someone who is a mix of those two."
"Like Fundy?" Grian suggested.
"Well, we know his father is a human. But he is also part fox. Who is his mother?" Xavier and Grian turned to George and Dream.
"A fucking salmon," Dream said.
The white haired male was silent for a moment before speaking. "Well, then that won't work because he isn't part salmon like his mother."
"Then who can we ask?!" Grian said in frustration.
"I think I know," George said, softly. "But the problem is that he's dead."
"Who?!"
"Ranboo." And as if god had heard them, a message popped up in their communicator.
Ghostboo joined the game
<TommyInnit> RANBOO?!
Grian began private messaging the ghost.
You whisper to Ghostboo: I need to talk to you
Ghostboo whispers to you: Sure! Where?
The blond gave Ghostboo the coordinates and within a short amount of time, the ghost was there.
"What do you need me for?"
After a few minutes of Grian, Xavier, Dream and George explaining everything to Ghostboo, they began making the portal. It took hours to set up a proper portal but at last, they entered the Server Hub. The hub contained doors to every server, whether it's still running or not. Ghostboo did not join them on account of Tommy wanting to talk to him.
Grian read the names of some of the servers as they walked.
Mindcrack, Geomine, Empires SMP, X Life, KingdomCraft, CrazyCraft, AfterLife SMP, 2b2t, Dream SMP, Origins SMP, SMPEarth, Krewcraft, Yandere High School, The Deep End, Legacy SMP, Scicraft
Some weren't moving as if frozen in time. They must've been on pause. He read some more servers and then found a bunch that hit too close to home for him.
Wynncraft, YHS, Evolution SMP, Hermitcraft, Hermitcraft Season 2, Hermitcraft Season 3, Hermitcraft Season 4, Hermitcraft Season 5, Hermitcraft Season 6, Hermitcraft Season 7, Hermitcraft Season 8, Hermitcraft Season 9, Hermitcraft Season 10, Hermitcraft Season 11, Hermitcraft Season 12, 3rd Life SMP, Last Life SMP, 100 Hours in Hardcore
A lot of these were unblocked names that didn't look glitched, unlike some private servers they walked past that had the text glitched out to make it harder to recognize. In fact, the ones that weren't glitched weren't homes and communities. They were servers that were easily recognized by everyone. Of course, modern ones would be recognized more than old ones. For example, Dream SMP or Hermitcraft are more likely to be recognized over KingdomCraft or Geomine. Not to mention these easily recognized servers are more likely to be protected against the Watchers, as you need a Whitelist to get in rather than a key.
Eventually, they reached the door to the server they needed.
F̸̧̛̣̠̝͖͓̟͋̈́̔̋̎͗́͠ͅe̵̼̱̻̗͆͊̆̃̂͑̌͊r̴̡̝̝̺͓͕̬̮̓̏̊͌̂́͑́̂͊͒̓͘͘n̶̨̝̜͙̫̠̱̼̳̺̙̯̮͍̍̄̓͐ͅh̷̨̨̧̞̞͚̙͕͔̊̂̾̈̄̕͜ͅę̵̡̡̪̫̰̻̥̭̽̓̈́̾͑̂̊͐̈̕͜͝ñ̸̢̜̥̈́͋̐́̊̀̃̒͐͛͒̍͠d̵̛̼̮͓̳͗̽̎̋̔̓̀̀̓͐̚͝͝
"One second." Xavier said, pulling out a small silver key with a purple crystal in the middle.
He unlocked the door, and after walking for about 20 minutes, they arrived. Of course, it was more like 30 minutes since George had to use the bathroom for 5 minutes. The other 5 minute holdup was actually spent pretty wisely, as during that time Xavier went to a local shop and got snacks for everybody.
After they got there, Xavier was hesitant to knock. He took a deep breath, and knocked on the door.
Xyla opened it with a welcoming smile. "Xavier, it's so good to see you again!"
Even though they were there for something urgent, Xavier couldn't help but smile back. "Hi, mum. By the way, these are my friends. Grian, George, and Dream."
She looked behind Xavier and smiled. "It's nice to meet you all!"
After settling down, Xyla started up a conversation. "So, what brings you here?"
"Actually Xyla, I need your help." Grian said
"With what?" She questioned.
Grian sighed. He pulled out his Watcher mask and lifted it to his face. His parrot wings changed out of their normal colors and were instead replaced with a light purple shade. They got larger too. A glowing purple halo appeared above the Hermit's head, and the same purple glow applied to the Watcher symbol on his mask.
"It has to do a bit with this," Grian awkwardly said.
She gasped, and pulled out a Netherite sword. "STAY AWAY FROM ME!!! ALL YOU WATCHERS ARE EVIL CREATURES!!!"
Xavier jumped in front of Grian in an effort to protect him. "Mum, stop! He's a good Watcher! Like you!"
Xyla lowered her sword as Grian pulled off his mask. "You know I'm a Watcher? How?"
Xavier handed her the sheet of paper Grian let him tear out. "George, Dream, and Grian found this while looking for information on how to revive someone."
Xyla read it through, and immediately perked up when she saw the offspring section. "Oh, that's right, Xisuma! How is your brother? I haven't seen you guys for a while! It was just 5 years ago that I even got word from you two. Even then, all it was was a call letting me know you found Xisuma and were safe with him in Hermitcraft."
"I-" Xavier started.
Xyla shifted to a look of concern. "Where is your brother?"
"Dead," The Dream SMP admin said while shrugging, not giving a care to it.
George elbowed him. "Stop being an arsehole Dream. Show a little respect maybe? Xisuma was Hermitcraft's admin, and their friend! He was Xavier's brother! How would you like it if Drista died, hm?"
"He was about to kill you and I over me being mind controlled to kill 11 of his friends! It wasn't anything personal but he acted like he was!"
"Maybe the two admins should try to get along instead of fighting over who the better admin is, and which admin has more power..." Grian murmured.
Xyla took this in shock. "Xisuma's dead? How?!"
Xavier's face saddened. "So we somehow got stuck on a new server with the Dream SMP members again. Watcher leaders Xena and Xylo infiltrated the server and took control of Grian's body, using it to kill some of the Hermits including Xisuma. We're currently trying to figure out a way to bring Xisuma and the others back to life."
Xyla nodded. "Where do I come in?"
The blond gremlin started to speak. "We need you to show me how and where to extract special Watcher blood."
Xyla laughed. "It's actually quite easy! Just poke a small hole where the blood flows, then manipulate the blood with your magic to put it in a vial. For destined Watchers there's a specific place to do it."
"What do you mean?" Grian asked.
"Watcher blood flows in every vein of a born Watcher. But for a destined Watcher it flows only just below the neck. Do me a favor, take my blood. It's easier to access as it flows everywhere in me. It's also more powerful.". Grian nodded, and followed all her steps. Soon enough, he had a vial of metallic dark purple blood.
Xyla smiled. "If you need help on how to defeat them, I know who you could TRY to go to. But it's risky. They hate Watchers, so even if you want to stop the Watchers they might hurt you. I was only ever taught they were a legend. But I believe they exist. I experienced enough proof that they do. If you find them, they might be able to help you."
"Find who?" Grian asked. "Who is 'they'."
"Isn't it quite obvious?" Xyla questioned. "They rival Watchers, who do you think?"
Grian remained silent.
"No?" She asked. "They're called the Listeners."

Dream SMP / Krew
George thought that he and Dream should leave Grian and Xavier alone. He tugged on Dream's sleeve and gestured for the American to follow.
The British tapped on Grian's shoulder. "Me and Dream are going to go explore the hub."
The two made their way to a crowded forest where the portal was hidden. The two entered the portal and ventured deeper into the hub.
"Hey! I want to go visit my mum."
The two stopped at a private server. Ģ̴͈̜̘̙̫͂̅͠u̸͎̻͙̗͙̥̺̜͉̒͌̅̍̊̍͝r̶̘͊́͆̔i̷̡̨͔̥̳̼̲̩͐̾̾̓̏̀g̵̡̦̩̙̳̥̼͙̀̐́͋͝a̵̙̼̣͂͑͊ķ̴̳͍̘̋̊͛o̵͖̙̝͔͐̀͠t̷͖͚̣͇̥̄͒̇͑͋ā̴͔́͆͑̋̚.
"Promise we won't-"
Before the blond got to finish, George spoke up. "I promise we won't go to your mum," George said.
"Promise?"
"Yes."
. . .
The two walked up to a pale blue colored house. The house was the type of house that made you know that inside would be comforting. George rang the doorbell
"Maybe you should remove your mask," George said. Dream obliged.
The white painted door opened to reveal a woman who probably was only slightly taller than George with brown hair and blue eyes.
"Hey mum!" George exclaimed.
"George!" The woman cried out. "I haven't seen you in years!"
"Sorry! I've been rather busy lately!"
"It's fine," his mother said cheerfully. "Come in!"
George and Dream sat on the couch in the living room while George's mother sat on an armchair across from them.
"You must be Clay," his mother said giving the two each a cup of tea. "I haven't seen you in a while either."
"Um- Yea," Dream said.
"Does Cassandra know you're here?" Cassandra was the name of Dream's mom.
"No," George said, knowing that his mom knew about how Dream's mother treated her son.
"How are you two?" George's mother asked. From past conversations Dream heard between George's mum and his mother, he knew that George's mum's name was Jenny.
"We're good," George said, fiddling with the ring around his finger.
"Soooo," Jenny said, slyly. "How was the wedding?"
Both, Dream and George choked in surprise.
"What?!" George gasped. "How did you know?!"
"You really got to get better at hiding those rings," Jenny said, laughing.
Once George and Dream caught their breath, George spoke to his mother. "Sorry we didn't invite you."
"It's fine," his mother replied.
The conversation went on for a while until it was interrupted by the doorbell. Jenny got up to answer it.
"Cassandra!" George and Dream glanced at each other at the sound of Dream's mom's name.

Fun Fact: 'Kebangkitan' is 'Resurrection' in Indonesian (Fun Fact: Most fun facts aren't fun! Also, the goal of golf is to play less golf. -Galactic) Fun Fact: The purpose of saying"Fun Fact" is to get you to look! Gurigakota. 'Guriga' is 'Home' in Somali. 'Kota' is 'Town' in Indonesian. (Fernhend. I didn't add deep meaning I just thought of a random and nice sounding name XD -Galactic)
- Pleb
Angst is actually my motivation for writing this story. Was quite proud with book 1 though, as I rarely see Xisuma angst. HELL YEA LISTENERS!!! Watchers get all the attention, but how much attention do the Listeners get?
-Galactic
I have joined this crew as an editor. I don't know where these two are taking the story, but I know I here to edit and make the plot thicker. Beware there might be small edits or added line to earlier chapters. I'm not used to Pleb's style of writing, so the patches might be pretty clear. I, however, do hope I'll be a good asset to the story! I probably sound like an adult now Q-Q. I'm just hoping I don't pour all my writing streaks into this story. I need some for my one story that been there for 2 years (Procrastination at it's finest people)! Self advertising aside, I hope you like the content I'll add in editing this!
- Peachy (Who is named Elaine Pallet in her profile...I should fix that)
