7-Why Am I Like This?

South Korea POV

I gave America a call when I woke up that morning. It was finally Saturday, the day of Japan's party. I wanted to know what America was bringing, and what he'd wear so we could twin-something we've done on multiple occasions.

My phone rang twice before America picked up. "Hello?"

"Hey oil addict." I said.

"Oh, hey South Korea. What are you calling me for?"

"I was wondering what you were bringing for the party, and what you were wearing-you know, so we could twin?"

"Haha, oh yeah, the party. I had forgot all about it."

"Wait, how? Everyone was talking about it all week."

"I was busy teaching Mexico English."

Oh right, that. He must've been so caught up in it. "Well, did you at least prepare some food and clothes?" I asked him.

"Yeah. I just prepared my clothes and Canada's helping me prepare food and drinks."

I sighed in relief. America hadn't forgotten. Thank goodness. America always spices up everything.

"Good, I was thinking you forgot conpletely. The party would've been boring without you."

"What about North?" Surprisingly, I didn't hear any annoyance or anger in his voice when he said my brothers name.

"You know how North is. He's probably just gonna sit in the corner and play with Japan's cats."

America laughed. "Are you gonna play K-Pop when we get there?"

"I'm pretty sure you already know the answer."

America and I both laughed. America then told me what he was wearing to the party and I put on the same thing. We met up at a grocery store to hang out. Japan's party started at seven, so we had a lot of time.

America was riding the cart down the aisles and singing one of his favorite songs, while I laughed and followed him. We had no intention of buying anything, we just came here to mess around.

America started getting the cart ready to ride again when China came around the corner. America abruptly stopped and fell on the ground. "Oof!"

China offered America a hand and laughed, "You okay?"

America nodded and nervously laughed. He stopped when he saw North Korea. North Korea stepped up beside China and glared at America.

America sighed. "Look, I'm not in the mood to get in another argument, North Korea. Japan's party is tonight and I want to be happy, not grouchy."

North rolled his eye. "We all know the party is tonight, Captain Obvious."

America appeared to want to hit North, but then he took a deep breath and let it out, putting his hands up and turning around and walking towards me. "Nope, not dealing with this today."

America started to walk away, but then he turned back to me with a brow raised. "I'm gonna stay for a while." I told him, smiling.

America nodded and walked down the aisle and pretended to look at items. I turned back to North Korea and China.

"Did your plans change or are you still coming to the party?"

China grinned. "We're still coming."

"We?" North Korea looked at China and then back at me. "I'm staying home."

China sighed and turned to North. "You told me you'd come."

"Well I change my mind."

"North Korea."

"What?"

China sighed again. He perked up as if he had an idea, but it was barely noticeable. "Japan has a lot of cats."

North Korea didn't say anything. He just stared at China as if urging him on.

China beamed. "You can just play with them the entire time."

North almost smiled, but as if he remembered as I was there he seemed to resist it. "Doesn't Japan keep his cats upstairs when he has a party?"

"I can ask him to let you hang with them. His cats like you a lot after all."

"True..."

North looked away from China. He stared at the ground and sighed in defeat. "Fine, I'll come. But I'm not gonna like it."

"That's great!" I piped up, letting China and North Korea know I was still there. "By the way brother, I'm gonna pick two songs during the party. Let's see if you can identify a certain one..."

North Korea raised a brow and looked at me. He honestly looked confused. I read his eye to confirm it and yup, he was confused. He really didn't know what I was talking about.

It kinda hurt but then an idea popped into my head. Since North doesn't know what I'm talking about, he'll be caught off guard by the song.

I complimented myself for the idea, I then looked at the time on my phone. It was only eight thirty in the morning. Still a couple hours to go.

I looked at America to see how he was doing, and he was staring at me with worry on his face. Even from my distance I could tell he was getting uncomfortable. It was then I figured out that America won't comment negative things about North Korea and be around him with me, but only for a certain amount of time.

I quickly said goodbye to China and North. I tried to hug North Korea-and succeeded. He was caught by surprise and stuggled to push me off. I eventually pulled away and hurried to America.

As me and America left the store, I turned around for no reason in particular. I saw North Korea staring after me as I left.

Time skip-6:00 PM

America and I were wearing our matching outfits-black shirts with white print NATO with a blue, red, and white jacket over it, along with shorts and blue shoes- and carrying our own foods and drinks. I decided to bring a few treats too-choclate pies.

A lot of countries love my chocolate pies, so I brought a whole lot of them so there'd be enough for North Korea to at least get one by the time he gets there. Knowing North, he'll probably try to arrive really late so he doesn't have to be there for a lot of time.

When we got to Japan's house (Which is really big, but every countries house is big), America shifted his snacks and drinks and rung the doorbell. It took a few seconds, but Japan eventually answered the door. "Oh, hi guys! You're early, come on in." He moved to the side so America and I could enter.

Japan's living room was decorated with multi-colored lights and anime posters everywhere, obviously. With the anime, I mean. He directed us to a room with huge doors. "This is the party room." He said as he opened the doors.

The room was gigantic. There was a DJ stand near the back wall, and tables and chairs were all along the left wall. The middle of the room had a disco floor, Japan said that it lights up and switches colors when you turn it on. Another pair of doors were next to the DJ stand, and Japan said that we'd all go there when we play a game.

The ceiling was covered in more multi-colored lights and a huge table lined the right side wall, but no chairs lined it this time. The table cloth was an anime girl with a sword.

"That's where you put your snacks," Japan said, pointing to the table. "I wasn't sure if you guys would actually bring snacks, but put them on the right side for now. I was just about to get my own food and drinks when you arrived."

"We'll help you." I said, walking over to the table. America did the same. We set our snacks down and spread them out. America set his four boxes of juice boxes next to my Kimchi and turned to Japan. "Is everything set up?"

Japan nodded. "All my cats are upstairs, and my snacks are in my room-which is on this floor. Can you help me get them all?"

"Of course! That's what friends are for." America said.

Japan's room was filled with snacks. His table, desk, chair, and bed were filled up with snacks. No wonder he needed help. "Kinda went overboard with the snacks, Jap." America said as he picked up twelve drinks.

"I can see that now." Japan said as he picked up his share of treats.

"But where did you sleep?" I stumbled a little bit picking up packages of sushi. "You're bed is full."

America laughed as he looked at Japan's bed. Japan laughed, too. "I slept in one of the spare rooms upstairs. I have so many anyway."

It took us ten minutes to move all of Japan's snacks and treats to the party room and sort them out on the table. I was panting like a dog when I collapsed on his couch in the living room. "I never knew... food could be so... heavy..."

America and Japan laughed. "Please, I carry more than that everyday. I call it McDonalds burgers and drinks, but Britian banned me from having any McDonalds so I can only have one every two weeks." America whined. "He wants to kill me..."

Japan giggled. "Hey, you've survived this long."

We continued to chat until it was six fifty, that was when more countries started showing up. To my surprise, China and North Korea were one of the few countries who showed up ten minutes earlier. North Korea was holding some of China's snacks. It appeared he didn't bring any snacks or anything himself.

China and North Korea disappeared to the party room. They came out a litle bit later with empty hands. China sat down on another couch and North sat next to him. China joined in on one of the conversations going on while North pulled out his phone.

Even though so far he doesn't want anything to do with anyone, I was just glad he was at least here. Every time the weekend comes along, North Korea just stays in his house. In fact, the only times North Korea leaves his house is when he's going to get more groceries or to go to school.

I was really happy he came here. So far, no one seemed to mind that North Korea was here. They just ignored him, really. I don't think he minded though. North Korea never liked a lot of countries anyway.

Ten more minutes pass and almost everyone is here. Japan leads the countries who were there into the party room and then exclaims: "Let's get this party started!"

North Korea POV

"Let's get this party started!"

As soon as those words left Japan's mouth music started up and countries immediately began dancing. While most danced in the dance floor, others went to get snacks and drinks and ate and talked at the tables.

I was standing near China when everyone split up to do different activities. He tapped my shoulder and lowered his head so I could hear him over the loud music and shouting. "What do you want to do?" He asked me.

I turned around and left the party room. China closed the doors behind us and we walked to the couches we were previously at. I sat down on one of the couches. "Sit here and talk, that's what I want to do." I said, crossing my arms and leaning back.

China laughed. He sat down next to me and we sat in comfortable silence for a minute or so. Finally, China spoke up. But what he said surprised me. "Why do you hate other countries so much?"

I honestly didn't know how to respond to that. Even I didn't know. I was annoyed that they were even on this planet and stealing my oxygen.

I shrugged. "I don't even know anymore. Whenever I'm around them, this feeling of hatred just rises in me, if that makes sense."

China nodded. "I've felt that before. They didn't even talk to you or anything, but you just hated them as soon as you saw them?"

I nodded.

"Yup, felt it before."

China and I sat in more silence until I got up and walked to Japan's kitchen. "What are you doing?" China asked me.

"Getting something to eat." I answered and opened the fridge.

"There's plenty of food in the party room." China said.

"You seriously think I'm gonna walk in there?" I raised a brow at China.

China sighed. "Just close the fridge and come back here. I'll be back in a minute."

I did as I was told. I closed the fridge and walked back to the couch. I plopped down and China got up and walked into the party room. The music blasted into the living room for a few seconds before becoming faint again when the doors closed.

I waited for a good two minutes when someone knocked on the front door. I got up and opened it. There stood the one and only, piece of crap, Panama.

Panama looked down at me. "Huh, didn't know a mutt that couldn't read English would even attend a party."

Panama sure knew how hurt someone's feelings. Ignoring what he said I pointed to the huge doors. "Everyone's in there. Jerk." I murmered the last part to myself.

"What was that?" Panama glared at me, as if suspecting that I said something insulting.

"N-nothing..."

"Thought so."

Panama pushed me out of the way and made his way to the party room. He opened and disappeared through the doorway.

I sighed and walkes back to the couch. Fighting the urge to cry, I waited for China to come back. Every minute that passed by I felt myself grow more anxious.

China eventually came back through the doors and walked back to the couch. "Sorry about that," he said, sitting down. "got stuck in a crowd."

I nodded. China then pulled out two chocolate pies. South Korea must've brought them.

My mouth watered at the sight of them. China smiled. "I got them for you. They're the last ones by the way."
I nodded and took them both out of China's hands. I gobbled the first one up and sighed. "Man, these are good."

China laughed. "Why don't you tell South Korea that?"

I froze. I mean, the chocolate pies were good, but telling that to South? My brain and body refused to. At least he was nice enough to bring enough where I could have a few.

"Sorry." China said, noticing my sudden stillness.

I relaxed a bit. "It's alright."

I ate the final chocolate pie more slow than the first one, but still pretty fast. After I finished, China and I talked for a good while.

Time seemed to pass quickly, and Sweden peeked his face out of the doors. "Hey North Korea, China, everyone's meeting in the room next to the DJ stand, Japan wants you to come."

I sighed and China nodded. Sweden closed the doors. "Come on North, let's go. They're waiting on us."

I got up off the couch after China and followed into the party room. It was then that I realized I was unbearably thirsty. I looked towards the snack table in hopes of getting a drink. It seemed every drink was gone except for America's Sparkling Punch.

I told China to wait for me and walked over to the table. I took one of the Sparkling Punch's and took a straw. I sipped from it and followed China into the room.

Everyone was sitting in a huge circle and looked at me and China when we walked in. We found two open spots beside South Korea and Canada and sat down.

Everyone was talking amongst themselves for a while. Japan loudly clapped his hands. "May I have everyone's attention?"

Countries quickly stopped talking and looked towards Japan. "We're gonna play a game. Your two choices are Spin The Bottle or Truth or Dare. We will cast a vote. All in favor for Spin The Bottle?"

Sixty-eight countries raised their hands for Spin The Bottle. Japan then told them to put their hands down. "All in favor for Truth or Dare?"

The remaining countries-except me-raised their hands. Japan clapped. "Truth or Dare it is! Who's going first?"

"Me me me!" Russia waved his hand wildly from his spot in between America and Soviet Union. Japan nodded. "Russia goes first."

Russia looked around the room until his eyes settled on Ukraine. "Ukrrraine, trrruth or darrre?"

Ukraine thought for a moment. "Truth."

"Is it trrrue that you have a crrrush on one of Amerrrica's siblings?"

Ukraine blushed red. A couple countries laughed, including Soviet. "W-well..." Ukraine cleared his throat and sighed. "Yes..."

Russia muttered a low 'I knew it' before Ukraine spoke up again. "Third Reich, truth or dare."

Third immediately replied, "Truth."

"When did you, Italy, Japan, and Soviet meet? I know this answer is obvious but I forgot."

Reich laughed. "We met during World War Two, and not that long after meeting we all became close friends."

Norway was about to say something until Reich glared at him. "We shall not talk about Operation Barbarossa..."

Soviet pulled Reich into a side-hug and Reich took a few breaths to calm down. He looked around the room. "Finland, truth or dare?"

This continued for a while. A lot of countries-especially America-chose dare, while others chose truth. There were a few times when someone picked me, but I just chose truth and replied with a flat answer with no detail. I also made it obvious that I didn't want to be there but didn't say anything.

Eventually, it was Japan's turn again. He chose China this time. "China, dare or dare?"

China looked confused. "Huh? That's not how you play."

Japan smirked. "My party, my rules."

China sighed. "Dare, not like I have a choice."

Japan whispered something to Italy and Italy giggled. I started having a bad feeling about this.

"I dare you to play 7 minutes of heaven with North Korea."

Oh. Hell. No.

A few countries gasped while others giggled. Soviet and a few others looked confused.

China sat there for a minute longer. It was as if he was contemplating what Japan had just said.

Taiwan spoke up. "Hurry up little bro, you're keeping the rest of us waiting."

China sighed. "Fine... Come on North."

I hesitantly got up with China. Japan led us to a closet in his bedroom. He motioned to it. "I'll lock you in there for seven minutes and then come back. Do whatever you want~" Japan winked as he closed the closet and locked us in.

That stupid neko.

China and I just stood there in silence for a few moments. I looked around and saw a few boxes. I picked them up and set it to where I could sit on them. There was plently of room in this closet so I decided to use it to my advantage.

After I was settled in my box chair I looked China. "So... you wanna talk about anything?" I asked him.

He shrugged. "Nothing really to talk about other than tension drama."

"Do you want to talk about that?"

"Nope. I'd rather be invisible."

I giggled at that. China had a point though. It was so dark in here I couldn't see him, as if he was invisible.

After two minutes or so of being in that stupid closet, my box chair started making me uncomfortable. I got up and stumbled into China. "Sorry about that..." I mumbled.

"It's alright, you okay?" He asked me.

I nodded even though he probably couldn't see me. "I'm fine. Just clumsy that's all."

"That reminds me of me when I was younger."

"Really?"

"Yup, I was the clumsiest boy ever. I knocked down pots, pans, fragile things, unfragile things. I wonder how Taiwan put up with me."

I laughed. "Sounds like a nice childhood. Mine was great too."

"Really? Tell me about it."

China and I spent the last minutes of the stupid game Japan had us play talking about the past and our childhoods. It wasn't until I felt pressure release from my waist was when I realized China had been holding me there.

Before I could ask him about it though, Japan swung open the door.

"Awww! I missed it!"

China and I looked puzzled. "Missed what?" I asked.

"You guys having-"

China slapped Japan before another word came out of him. China was a blushing mess, but I had no idea what Japan was talking about. "We didn't do anything." China stated.

Japan rubbed the already disappearing slap mark. "You guys are no fun."

We followed Japan back to the others and took our spots again. Everyone was staring at us and Japan sighed before announcing, "They didn't do anything."

Everyone turned away and looked towards Japan. I was still confused. What the heck were they talking about? And what did Japan mean by 'They didn't do anything?'

I was still pondering my thoughts when I heard a shout, snapping me out of them. Canada was a blushing mess while America, New Zealand, and Australia oohed. Ukraine was trying to lunge at Russia but Belarus and Kazakhstan held him back.

"Ты офигенный ублюдок! Иди сюда прямо сейчас!" Ukraine was shouting. (You fricking bastard! Get over here right now!)

Russia was laughing and Soviet had a hand on his forehead and shook his head. I could tell he was smiling, though.

Ukraine eventually calmed down and flipped Russia off. Russia was still recovering from laughing away all his air that he didn't even respond. Japan got everyone's attention again. "Well that was something. Anyway, Georgia, it's your turn."

Again a few minutes pass of this game, and I was losing interest now. I eventually took out my phone and started playing some games on it. My volume was off so China could hear what was going on.

I was so caught up in the game I was playing that I almost didn't notice China tapping my shoulder. "Huh?" I asked him.

China pointed toward Jamaica. "He said dare or dare."

I frowned at Jamaica. "I don't have any other answer. What's my stupid dare?"

Jamaica reached into a bag that was next to him and pulled out a book. The book was big and thin, and it had a picture of some white looking baby bird. I think America called it a swan.

Jamaica walked over to me and handed me the book. I looked down to read the title-it as fricking written in English.

And before you ask, I know what English looks like, I just can't read it.

I already had a bad feeling of where this was going.

Jamaica smirked and crossed his arms. "I dare you to read that entire book. Here, I'll get the title done for you. The Ugly Duckling."

I nervously opened the book to the first page. I couldn't read anything. The words were in English. I didn't know what was going on as I flipped through the book.

"Well?" Jamaica asked. A few countries giggled. "Did you read it? I know you're a fast reader North Korea."

My hands started shaking and I felt tears prick the corner my eye. I felt everybody's eyes on me. I also felt Soviet Union's blood boiling in rage.

"Hello? Anybody home?" Jamaica asked, pretending to talk through a peephole on a door.

"I can't read it..." I murmured, Jamaica and everybody else some how hearing it.

Countries started laughing and I felt others look at me in sympathy. China reached to comfort me when I stood up and sprinted out of the room, across the dance floor, through the living room, and out the front door-flinging it open and not bothering to close it.

I ran away from the party, from Japan's house, from everybody. Tears flowed down my cheeks and blurred my vision until I could barely see anything.

I somehow made my way to my house and clumsily unlocked the door. I slammed and locked it behind me and dropped the keys on the ground and rushed up the stairs. I entered and slammed the door to my room.

I then collapsed on my bed and cried into my pillow. I cried and cried and cried. I couldn't stop, I felt that my tears were endless.

I can't read English and I'm a crybaby.

God...

Why am I like this?
