Sorry for the short and rushed chapter, I really needed to get something out before Thanksgiving ;-;

I actually had a lot more typed out but then decided to scrap it and just do this

New Zealand POV

Alright, time to put the plan into action. I had set my phone alarm to about 20 minutes before France and Britain normally woke up. I was currently laying in my bed staring at the ceiling, going over ways I could distract my parents long enough for my brothers to get to Canada's room. Maybe I could talk to them for a bit about our situation and then show them a few of my drawings and short stories?

Yeah, I draw and write short stories. I usually write the story first and then draw my favorite scene from it, but there are times where I randomly draw something and end up writing something about it.

France thinks my interest in writing stories came from her mother, and the drawings surrounding the stories came from her. Her mother often spent her free time writing stories for France when she was a child, and France would then draw her favorite scenes from said stories and show her mom.

I exited my thoughts when I heard a door open. Knowing it was my parents, I sat up and quickly went over my distraction plan in my head before stretching right as they opened my door. "Good morning, Mom. Good morning, Dad."

America POV

I creaked my door open and listened to New Zealand's conversation with our parents. I heard him say the code word before hearing his door shut; effectively letting us know he convinced them to stay with him for a bit.

I quickly but quietly stepped out of my room and closed the door. I saw Australia do the same and we both went to Canada's room. We entered the room, closing the door softly behind us.

"What now?" Australia whispered to me.

"Wait for the signal, then we can leave and tell them that Canada is 'working.'" I whispered back.

Australia sat on Canada's bed and looked around. "Wonder why Nada doesn't let me in his room often." He murmered.

"Because you'll break something. Why else do you think I don't let you in mine since the clock incident?" I raised a brow at him.

"I told you that was an accident. And besides, I was only 10."

"Still."

Australia huffed silently and continued to look around Canada's room. He began to mess with Canada's blanket, which was decorated with maple syrup and hockey pucks.

I leaned against the door and listened for footsteps and the signal. It was important that I caught it before Mom and Dad got to Canada's room. "Hey, Ame?" Australia murmered.

"Yeah?" I looked at him but focused much of my hearing towards the door and hallway behind it.

"Isn't it a little funny that Mom is the only female in this family?"

I could hear the smirk in his voice. I snickered silently. "Yeah."

He went quiet for a moment before speaking up again. "Maybe it's a good thing that Ukraine convinced Nada to stay. You know what time of night it was."

I nodded slightly after a pause. "Yeah...maybe it is--"

I heard footsteps. I then heard New Zealand's signal, which by the way was two stomps. I motioned Australia to me and when I knew our parents and youngest brother were a few steps away from the door I left the room with Australia close behind me.

I quickly closed the door and turned to them. Britain and France looked at us with a confused expression. "Mornin, Mom. Mornin, Dad." I greeted them.

"Bonjour, (Good morning,) Ame, what were you and your brother doing in Canada's room?" France asked.

"We just wanted to talk to him. He's working on paperwork and things concerning his country, so don't go in. It'll break his concentration." I lied.

"Oh, alright. Thanks for telling us." Britain smiled at me.

"No problem, Dad."

Australia and I followed our parents and New Zealand downstairs. Our youngest brother glanced at us, smiling and doing a thumbs up before turning away. Australia and I shared a glance and smiled. The plan worked! Now to wait for Canada's return.

Canada POV

~Around the time his siblings woke up~

I set the note I wrote down on the bedside table before pressing a quick kiss on Ukraine's cheek and rushing out the door. New Zealand said I needed to get home as fast as possible, so I'm doing that right now.

Sprinting down the street in the early hours of the morning really doesn't look good out of context. The sun wasn't that high in the sky, and since I checked what time it was before I left the Russian family's house, I knew that not many countries would be awake. Even so, getting home was still stressful.

Hopefully my siblings aren't that mad at me. Who am I kidding, they're my brothers, of course they're mad. No doubt I'm getting a scolding from either one or all of them when I get back.

With that thought in my head, I smiled a bit. Not sure why, I just did.

After a bit of running, my family's house eventually came into view. I smiled widely and sprinted to where my room was outside. I looked up to see my window just the way I left it.

I turned to the tree and quickly began climbing it's branches. I got scratched a few times in my hurry but I didn't care. Once I determined I was high enough, I jumped and landed on the roof's shingles.

The thump I made upon landing on it was fairly loud, so I rushed to my window and opened it, slipping into my room and briskly closing it.

I quickly put my weapons back and flopped onto my bed. Finally, I'm back. Though, I can't come out right away. New Zealand said to stay in my room for a few minutes before leaving.

So, I did just that.

I stayed in my room for a bit before finally leaving and heading downstairs, where I saw my family eating breakfast. "Oh, morning, Nada!" America greeted, a big and grateful smile on his face.

"Good morning, Canada. How was your work?" Britain asked.

"Fine. Just finished the last of it." I responded.

"Good thing you did, right on time to eat before the pancakes get cold." France smiled.

I happily slid into my seat and joined in on the conversation my family was having before. When we finished eating, Britain and France went into the kitchen to wash the dishes. "You are so lucky that we love you." America immediately murmered after both were gone.

I chuckled as Australia and New Zealand agreed. "Yes, I am lucky. You guys are gonna want something in return, right?"

My brothers shared glances before looking back at me. "No, other than for you to not do anything that risky ever again, you stupid idiot." New Zealand said.

"Alright then."

After that was settled, we went back to chatting. I'm so lucky these are my brothers, I couldn't ask for better siblings. I mean, I never would even if I had the choice. I love these rascals.
