UN POV
I stood in the meeting room leaning against the wall. I had just called the countries to come. EU walked inside carrying two bottles of water. ASEAN and NATO were right behind him. "UN, you okay?" EU asked.
"No, I'm not fricking okay. I have to report two new missing cases to the countries. Who knows what Ecuador's siblings will say?" I let out an exasperated sigh.
EU handed a bottle of water to me. "If it cheers you up, I called the principle and told him what was happening and that nobody was going to school today." NATO said.
"Being super late to school is the least of our worries, NATO." ASEAN said, rolling his eyes.
NATO opened his mouth to retort, but EU glared at them. "Don't. We already have enough going on, we don't need you two imbeciles arguing."
I opened the water bottle EU gave me and took a few gulps from it. EU also drank some of his water. "Wow, none for us?" NATO said.
"NATO, you drank a gallon of water before we even got here, I believe you're good." ASEAN said.
"Fine then, what about you?"
ASEAN smirked and crossed his arms. "I drank water before I left my house this morning."
NATO scoffed. "Bet it wasn't a gallon."
"And that was good."
"Why, exactly?"
"Because I don't have to go to the bathroom right now."
NATO's face turned to one of realization. "U-Uh...gotta go!" He rushed out of the room.
EU looked as if he mentally facepalmed. "We need to do something about you two..." He muttered, setting his and my water bottle down on a nearby table.
"What? I didn't do anything." ASEAN said. "Besides, it was NATO being...well...NATO."
"Still, you both argue way too much."
Their conversation was cut short when we heard a door open. We turned to the far side of the room and watched as the countries flooded in and took their respectful seats. The rest of the organisations also came in. As always, BRICS was wearing a bag over his head.
If you're wondering why BRICS is wearing a bag over his head, the reason is fairly simple. Since BRICS doesn't have an official flag for his organisation, his face is constantly changing from one of his members' flags to the next. Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, repeat.
A while ago, countries kept complaining about how when talking to BRICS, the constant changing of flags gave them a headache. The whole wearing a bag idea was supposed to be a joke by ASEAN, but BRICS took it seriously and he wears it everyday now.
Anyway, back to the meeting. The countries were all oddly silent. Normally when they first arrive everyone is talking to everyone, but I guess because of the current situation no one wanted to talk.
Everyone was looking at me. I noticed Bangladesh was the only country who wasn't. She had her head in between her arms, and I didn't blame her. Both her older brother and younger sister were missing.
Looking around, I noticed both North Korea and France weren't there. Assuming the worst, I was hesitant to ask, "Where is France and North Korea?"
"They're at home, UN." Britain answered. "North has gotten sick and France is taking care of him."
"Surprised he isn't taking care of himself..." I heard someone mutter. Unfortunately, I couldn't catch who it was.
Relieved that two more countries didn't go missing, I let out a sigh of relief. Now onto the worst part of this meeting. "As you all know, I have called you here for an important announcement."
The countries murmered to themselves for a few seconds. I felt my wings twitching, and they wanted to droop but I wouldn't let them. I took a deep breath. "Venezuela and Colombia, Ecuador didn't come home last night, did he?"
The two countries were among the ones that were sat closer to me. They both nodded. I opened my mouth to tell them but I couldn't find my voice. I had told the families of every country that had gone missing so far, and seeing their emotions afterwards tore me up inside.
"We're sorry, but," EU stepped up beside me, "he's been kidnapped..."
Silence. Pure silence for a full minute. A minute full of my nervous sweating, and my wings slowly drooping even more.
The silence was pierced by a shrill scream. Colombia collapsed onto the floor and started sobbing. Venezuela stared at the table as tears streamed down his cheeks. A little bit later, he started crying, too.
A few countries got up and walked over to the two. They comforted them and helped Colombia back into her seat. "Wait, how do you know he was kidnapped?" Denmark asked.
BRICS reached over and turned the screen on. It showed security camera footage of a liquor store that was nearby the kidnapping spot. We watched the whole sequence of Ecuador getting kidnapped. Audio was included, so we all heard as he screamed and cried for his siblings. BRICS paused it when Ecuador's screams stopped.
Venezuela stared at the screen wide-eyed. "I-I was so mad him... I was so m-mad... He was calling for me but I..." He started crying again.
We waited until a Guatemala calmed Venezuela down again and then continued. "Yes, Ecuador was indeed kidnapped," ASEAN began, "But that wasn't the only kidnapping that night. BRICS?"
BRICS nodded and resumed the footage. We saw the one of the kidnappers hoist Ecuador over their shoulder. We heard them talking, but it was too faint to make out voices or what they were saying.
We eventually saw another country come into view. We saw her freeze at the sight of what she saw.
We recognized Palau.
The shorter of the two kidnappers rushed forward and tackled Palau to the ground. He pressed what looked like a cloth up against her face and I could see she passed out. The taller of the two kidnappers then hoisted Palau over their shoulders, and both of them walked away, grabbing almost every piece of evidence.
BRICS turned the footage off. We turned to the rest of the countries. "Based off this footage, we have reason to believe that all the other missing countries were kidnapped as well." League of Nations said.
"But...where do we start?" Russia asked.
"Well, we could gather up what information we have right now and give it to police. We could also work on this case ourselves at the same time." BRICS suggested.
"I think BRICS has a good idea." LON said.
"South Korea, you were attacked a few weeks ago, am I correct?" I asked the Korean.
South Korea nodded.
"Did you catch anything?"
South thought for a moment. "I remember that they laughed, but I was in too much of a panic and was so scared that I don't remember what their voice sounded like. However, I caught a glimpse of their flag."
"And..?" NATO leaned forward a little. Oh, yeah, he's back.
"The bottom of their flag was black, as I recall."
Everyone stared at the countries who had black at the bottom of their flag. They fidgeted uncomfortably in their seats. "Hey, it's only one of us..." Egypt said.
"But we don't know which, so you're all suspects." NATO said, narrowing his eyes.
"Everyone with black at the bottom of your flag, stand up." ASEAN commanded.
The countries with that feature did so. "Alright, now LON and I will guide you to a room where we will ask you questions."
"So you're going to interrogate us?!" Sudan shouted.
Egypt slapped him. "Can't you see it's necessary?!"
"Enough!" EU shouted. "You will allow LON and ASEAN to escort you to the room. Once this meeting is over the rest of us will come in."
The countries went silent and followed ASEAN and LON. After the group was gone BRICS closed the door they left through. EU turned to the remaining countries. "There were two people in those cameras, so that means one of them is still here. We could tell it was a female, and that she was taller than the other one there."
The male countries all looked at the female countries. Kazakhstan translated what EU said to Lithuanian for Lithuania. Lithuania immediately hugged Kazakhstan when she realized why she was getting stared at. Kazakhstan hugged her back.
"Alright, everyone, stop staring." I said.
The male countries reluctantly stopped staring at the female countries and turned towards me. A lot of them looked scared. "So, you're saying that they could be among us right now..?" Vietnam asked.
I sighed and nodded. "We're not sure exactly who they are, but we'll find and arrest them."
"We also believe there is a third person as well." NATO said.
To make a long time short, we questioned the countries in the room. Here's one of them:
"Honduras, what were you doing yesterday at about (insert time)?" EU asked.
"I was at my favourite coffee shop." Honduras answered.
"Did anything happen after that?"
"Si. Panama came in and we argued."
Every country turned and stared at Panama, who looked very uncomfortable. They were all giving him suspicious looks. Sweden noticed the looks they were giving him and hugged him. "Panama, what happened after the argument?" NATO asked.
"I-I went to Sweden's house..." Panama responded.
"Sweden, is this true?"
Sweden nodded. "Ja. (Yes.) You guys can stop staring at him now!" He glared at the other countries.
The other countries stopped staring at Panama, but still cast him glances. NATO didn't seem to believe Sweden or Panama still. He turned to other Nordics. "Norway, Finland, Denmark, is what Panama and Sweden are saying true?"
The three of them nodded. "Panama actually stayed the night." Åland Islands added.
NATO nodded. "Thank you."
"Alright, before we dismiss this meeting, is there anything else one of you would like to talk about?" I asked.
Soviet raised his hand. "I would like to speak to you, UN."
"Okay. Meeting dismissed."
The countries stood up and immediately began talking amongst themselves. I noticed Panama was shaking a little and Sweden, Jamaica, and Romania helped him out of the building, all talking to him.
Soon enough, the only countries remaining were Britain, Soviet, and Reich. Britain and Reich were talking quietly to Soviet. Reich eventually kissed Soviet and left. Britain remained for a little longer until he eventually left.
Soviet stood up and walked over to me. "It's not important...but my people are getting annoyed and worried so I felt I needed to talk about it."
I nodded. I told the other organisations to interrogate the countries with black at the bottom of their flag. They left and it was just me and Soviet in the room. I grabbed two chairs and brought them to the front. I sat in one of them and Soviet sat in the other. "So, what is it that you wanted to talk about?" I asked.
Soviet pulled out pieces of paper, maps, and printed screenshots. He handed them all to me. "Please, look at them." He said.
I examined the maps first. They all seemed to be printed as well. They had what looked like digital marker that circled Soviet's islands, and then pointing to either Asia, the Americas, or Oceania.
I set the maps aside when I finished looking at them all and began looking at the printed screenshots. The screenshots seemed to be from all sorts of websites, and if an account was shown on the screenshot it looked as if Soviet scratched it out. The screenshots were full of different kinds of information, but still about the same subject.
I set the screenshots down and looked at the papers. They were stapled into stacks, and I read some of them. They were basically really long essays with information about which region Soviet's islands beloned to.
I looked up at Soviet and sighed. "I see it's still happening."
Soviet nodded. "Da, but it's getting worse. Yesterday, I got a call from my capital. He said there was a big fight between the tourists."
"How does this have to do with this?"
"They were fighting because the one group believed my country belongs in the Americas while the other believed my country belongs in Oceania. Four Soviets were injured from the fight, three adults and one teenager. I'm scared that if this continues than something worse will happen."
"Has your leader tried announcing which region you belong to?"
"Da! He announced it! It was all over the news, but people still insist I belong to a different region!" Soviet had tears of frustration threatening to fall.
"Soviet, I want you to take deep breaths to calm down."
Soviet closed his eyes and did what I said. On top of that, he counted to ten in Russian. "Okay, I'm calm now."
"Now, what region do you think you belong to?"
"...Asia..."
"Do you want to be a part of those other regions?"
"Nyet."
"Okay, keep working to convince others that you're an Asian country. If things continue to escalate, then I and the other organisations will step in."
Soviet nodded. "Spasibo, UN. (Thank you.)"
"No problem."
Soviet stood up and left the room. I sighed. I'll do the best I can Sov, but I also need to find these kidnappers.
South Korea POV
I was in the car with America's family. I was chatting with America and Canada while Australia and New Zealand talked to each other. Britain was silent as he drove. "South, I have good news!" America said.
"What is it?" I asked.
"You'll be able to go back to your house in two days!"
I couldn't help but cheer. "I'm so excited! No offense, Ame, but I think it's kinda good that we don't live together anymore."
America pretended to be offended. "My wonder!"
We laughed. I was grateful for this conversation we were having, but I couldn't help but worry about the kidnappers and what's going on. No one knows who's doing it, let alone why.
"Hey South, you there?" America snapped his fingers in front of my face.
I jumped. I guess I spaced out. "Oh-sorry! What was that?"
"Canada asked you if you had a crush."
I shook my head. "Nope. Not interested in anyone."
America booed. "So you're planning on being a single pringle all your life?"
"I never said I'd be a single pringle all my life, just that I'm not interested in anyone at the moment. I'm not really looking for a relationship right now, anyway."
America did a rolling eye motion with his head. "Whatever you say, single-pringle."
"That's gonna be my nickname for a while, isn't it?"
"You know me so well!"
"Alright, we're home. Get out my car." Britain announced.
The English siblings tumbled out the car and raced to the doorbell with me at their heels. America unlocked the front door and busted it open yelling, "MAMA MIA, WE'RE HOME!"
I saw France glare at America from the couch. "I'm glad you're home, but you probably woke up North Korea."
"Sorry..." America looked down.
France sighed. "It's fine, I guess. Just make sure you're quiet." She got up and went upstairs to check on my brother.
I ran after her and followed her to the room North was in. "So is he okay?" I asked her.
"He's recovering just fine. He just needs rest." France responded and opened the door.
To both of our surprise, North was still fast asleep in the bed. He looked way better than yesterday. "By the power of my metal baguette, how is he not awake?" France whispered.
I shrugged. "Dunno, but we should leave him be."
France and I left the room. I closed the door. We went back downstairs. Britain greeted France at the bottom. "Greetings, love." Britain said.
"Bonjour, mon amour." (Hello, my love.) France hugged Britain and gave him a kiss on the cheek.
I walked into the kitchen and saw America and New Zealand fighting over the flour. "I need it more than you!" America pulled the flour bag.
"Nuh uh! I promised to make my Kiwi a triple layer cake!" New Zealand pulled the bag in his direction.
"Kiwi's can't even eat cake!"
"Says who?!"
"Me!"
"You just want this so you can make a cake all to yourself, fatty!"
"Don't fricking call me tha-" America was cut off by the bag exploding.
France and Britain rushed into the room. Most of the kitchen was blanketed in a thick white. America and New Zealand stood in the center, covered head to toe in flour. America sneezed. There were still many flour particles falling.
"What the bloody 'eck?!" Britain shouted.
"How did this happen?" France asked.
America and New Zealand pointed at each other at the same time and also said in unison, "He did it."
"My KITCHEN!!!" Britain yelled.
"L'amour, why don't you go sit down on the couch?" France asked.
Britain sneezed and nodded. I said 'bless you' as he walked away. France turned back to the two of her flour covered kids. "Someone, please explain."
America and New Zealand were silent. I sighed. "I didn't see all of it, but they were pulling the flour bag back and forth, screaming that one of then needed it more than the other. Eventually, the bag exploded."
France nodded. "Merci, (Thanks,) South Korea." She turned to America and New Zealand. "You two are gonna clean up this mess, understand?"
America and New Zealand nodded. "Yes, Mom..." They both said.
France and I walked away. "South Korea, is there anything you want to do?" France asked.
I shrugged. "Since Ame is busy, do you think I can hang out with Canada?"
France nodded. "Of course! He should be in the backyard with Australia."
I thanked France and walked away. I went to the backyard and saw Canada and Australia playing with the sprinkler. I opened the door. "What are you guys doing?" I called.
I noticed Canada and Australia were in swim trunks. They turned to me. "We're turning the sprinkler on to play in the water! Wanna join us?" Canada asked.
"Sure!" I went upstairs and grabbed some trunks I knew America never used. I changed into it and went to the backyard. "Alright, what now?" I asked Canada once I reached them.
"Australia is fixing it right now. Don't worry, water will be spraying soon. Until then, do you want to talk?"
"Sure, what about?"
"I don't know, maybe things you liked to do when you were younger? Oh! Or maybe what your favourite animal is and why. Or maybe-"
"The sprinkler should be working now, mates!" Australia said. "Nada, go and turn it on!"
Canada nodded and rushed to the handle. He turned it a certain direction. Australia and I watched the sprinkler as Canada turned it. Water trickled out at first, then it raised, and then it sprouted out until it was way above our heads. "Woo! Way to go, Aussie!" Canada ran over to us.
"Alright, let's start playin!" Australia shouted.
We were probably out there for hours playing in the water. We eventually took the sprinkler off and started just spraying each other with the water, and waving it around in the air so when the water comes back down it seems like it was raining.
I was spraying Australia when France came outside. "Alright, boys! Come inside and dry off, breakfast is ready!"
We cheered and turned the water off. We rushed inside and dried ourselves off, changing into some pajamas and rushing downstairs. We sat at the table. I could see France heading upstairs holding a bowl of what I think is soup. "Kiwi and I heard you guys playing out there." America said.
"Really? Did you take joy in hearing us have fun while you cleaned the kitchen?" I asked, mockingly.
"Shut it, South." America laughed.
"I better not see any flour, I did tell you to make it spotless, did I not?" Britain asked.
New Zealand nodded. "You did, Dad."
"Britain, don't be so hard on them. They said it was an accident." France came back and sat in her seat.
Britain rolled his eyes and began eating. "So, what are you guys doing later?" Canada asked.
"I was gonna hang with my sheep." New Zealand answered.
"I'm gonna feed my python." Australia smiled.
We all stared at him for a second. "Uhm, anyway, I'm playing video games." America said.
"Oh, no you're not, Ame. You still have that late history paper you need to finish. And what about that math assignment that you didn't even start yet?" Britain asked.
America froze. "How do you know about those..?"
"While you were on your date with Russia I went through your room and found them. For heaven's sake, they were due two weeks ago, Ame!"
"Oh, haha...that's where they were.. But please? There's special addition armor that they're releasing today and I can only get it if-"
"I don't wanna hear it! You have an entire day today to finish them, and I don't want to see you doing anything else unless it's eating until you're done."
"But-"
"Ame, listen to your father." France cut America off.
America sighed. "Fine..."
We continued eating breakfast and talking to each other. After we all finished, America sadly walked to the stairs and up them.
(It's 11:34 PM- I don't feel like typing-)
Later, I saw Britain and France taking America's consoles and games out of his room. Britain even took his phone. I followed France when she took America's remaining games and saw they were all in the living room. I was silent for a moment. "Hey, France?"
France turned to me. "Oui, South Korea?"
"Do you think you could hook these up?"
"Of course."
(Time skip)
America finished his missing homework a few minutes before lunch. He came downstairs looking really sad. "Hey, Mom? Dad?"
"Yes, Ame?" Britain and France turned to him.
"I'm done...can I have my stuff back now..?"
"Of course! You can get that armor you wanted now." Britain smiled.
America shook his head sadly. "No, it was super limited time. I don't have enough time to get it now..."
Britain's smile dwindled. "I'm sorry I made you miss out on that, but your work is very important."
America sighed. "I know, Dad. But I actually did lose those assignments, so thanks for that I guess."
After a few more minutes, everything was back in America's room and hooked up. America also got his phone back. "Darn... I have five unread messages from Russia..." He muttered.
I was sitting on his bed. "Is it bad?"
America sighed. "He really wanted to talk to me about something." He pressed a button and put the phone up to his (nonexistent) ear.
America talked to Russia over the phone for a bit before Russia had to go. He hung up and turned his console on, looking at the screen sadly. "Something wrong, Ame?" I asked.
America sighed. "It's just...I really wanted that armor. There's nothing like it, and it's stats were everything that I wanted my character to have. They're never bringing it back..."
America loaded into the lobby and gasped. "W-Wait, what?! How?!"
His character stood in the center of the screen wearing the armor America really wanted. "But- But I didn't play at all today!" America was staring at the screen.
I was grinning. America turned to me. "I felt bad for you. I know how much you like this game, and the way you talked about the armor just... Let's just say I couldn't stand by and let you be depressed."
"You did this..?"
"Yeah. I kept playing games and completing the challenges. Those challenges were very difficult, by the way. Oh, I also got the new gun while I was at it."
America hugged me. "Thank you, South! Thank you, thank you!"
I laughed and hugged America back. "No problem, oil-addict."
America pulled away and picked up his controller. "Now, let's see what this baby can do!"
Middle POV
Dang it! They're starting to catch on. Okay Middle, don't panic...don't panic. Wait...will we even be able to meet up? Small is getting interrogated, I hope he doesn't accidently release anything. I'm kinda worried about him...
What are you talking about, Middle?! Of course we can still meet up! It's just that Small will not be there.
Won't Small still try to come..?
Tall set a hand on my shoulder. "You alright, Middle?"
I sighed. "Are you worried about Small?" Tall asked.
I nodded. "He might be a bit of a dumby but still..."
Tall nodded. "I know, I'm worried about him, too."
Buff walked into the room. He sat in his chair. "So, what are we gonna do now?"
"Well, for one we have to be more careful." I said.
Tall nodded. "What about Small?"
"I'll see if I can get him somewhere private, preferably my house so it isn't suspicious." I said.
Buff and Tall nodded. They talked to each other while I texted Small to not come to the meeting. "We're still gonma carry on like normal, right?" Tall asked.
I nodded. "Just be cautious."
Tall turned to Buff. "Alright, any more requests?"
Buff nodded and pulled out another sheet of paper. He handed me it and I read it. "Soviet Union."
I could see Tall stiffen. I looked at Buff. "Sure, I guess..."
Buff rolled his eyes. "Come on, Middle. Soviet stopped talking to you a while ago, why are you hesitant?"
I shrugged. "I dunno..."
Buff turned to Tall. "What about you?"
Tall looked him in the eye. "We...we can't do that to him."
"And why not?"
Tall stood up. "Because Soviet's my ex-husband."
