Angel Dumott Schunard- Visitation (c)
Since you had been woken up at an ungodly hour, you'd been waiting for visitation to start, so that you weren't stuck in the same boring hospital routine. At ten on the dot, the door to your hospital room was opened revealing Angel, in one of her glamorous attires.
"Good morning," she beamed, closing the door behind her, carrying a new bouquet of flowers towards the vase on the windowsill.
"Morning," you smiled weakly.
You had been in a car accident a few days prior and were expected to stay in hospital for a week. You'd done a far bit of damage to yourself, but you were healing well now, and were desperate to return home to have the comfort of your own bed and eat something better than the hospital food.
"How are you feeling, Lovely?" She asked, transferring the new flowers into the vase.
Angel drew the curtains, letting the sun stream into your dingy room. The clinical white of the room had begun to give you a headache, but with a bit of sunlight and the bright pink flowers on the windowsill did help to conquer that.
"I feel like crap. I didn't sleep well due to the constant checks throughout the night. It's hard to sleep when someone puts a blood pressure cuff onto you," you frowned.
She pulled up the chair to your bedside, holding your hand gently.
"It'll be okay," she smiled. "Only a couple more days and you'll be out of here."
You let out a sigh. Granted you didn't feel well enough to go home, but you certainly didn't want to be staying in hospital.
"I can't wait to go home," you frowned.
She gave you a pitiful smile, leaning in to press her lips to your forehead. "I love you."
You scrunched up your nose. "Gross, why?"
Angel let out a gentle laugh, leaning back into her seat.
"You're my best friend, of course I love you. Regardless of the fact you haven't brushed your hair in three days and you have several tubes coming out of you," she laughed.
"Thank you for coming everyday Angel," you smiled weakly. "I think I'd go stir crazy if you weren't here, the nurses aren't too fond of conversation."
She gently held your hand once more. "Of course, I am going to be here for you. You're in a lot of pain and the least I can do is come by each day and try and make you smile."
